Jamie: Wow let me be one of the first to congratulate you. Awsome, to see you grow into this player that everyone new you should be is not an easy road. Most people don't understand what it takes to accomplish this. These things aren't just handed out to anybody. You are one of the hardest working people that I have ever known and you are a great leader that will be successfull in anything you choose to do. I know for a fact that you can play anywhere in the country I would have loved to play with a player like you....wait I did some in college and some in the pros...wake up all you colleges this kid is for real. Good luck Jamie and thanks for the memories...Oh yea the pool party I havn't forgotten. Coach K
Congratulations to you Deven Holmes! You have worked so hard for this. I have never seen a high school athlete / student scholar that executes so well, supports his team, gives credit to others, is humble AND a great human being. Great job to you, your family, team-mates, coaches and community.
Where will these kids be going to college?
to see who the "other paper's" MVP's and 1st team will be. There are alot of great talented athletes and it's too bad to have to narrow it down to only those that won a championship. These awards are only 'paper' determined by the opinion of a small group of individuals and will not determine the success a young man will have in the years to come. Recruiting coaches at the next level know that. A HS coach can try and sell a player with alot of press and accolade but the bottom line, does the kid have the "it" factor to move on. If Bingham, Cottonwood, Hurricane or Logan won state there would be different MVP's. The consistant player throughout the year will still be noticed and move on to the next level. Just prepare harder for next year.
just to be nominated is an honor as there are others who strived all year and for whatever reason such as injury..it didn't come to fruition , just as the championship eluded everyone but one!
