What an wonderful story. A community with a need. Corporations with people to train. Youth who clearly win.

WW Clyde & Co and their sister company, Geniva Rock are Awsome! Instead of "wasting" the money and resources needed to train your people, you have stepped up and become giants! Undoubtedly, the ball field excavation cost more that working in the gravel pit would have but your people did more than simply train with new technology. You have allowed them to invest in the youth of the area while accomplishing something they can be proud of.

WW Clyde & Co and Geneva Rock need to pat themselves on the back. Your actions in a time of economic need show how companies can "invest" their training expenses into the communities they are in. Celebrate your success! Then take that momentum and build on it!

WW Clyde & Co along with Geneva Rock need to put this information into the various magazines and journals that support their industry and challenge other companies to do the same. Think of all the good that could be accomlished in the name of training your people.

WW Clyde and Geneva Rock have set the standard! Outstanding Job!

This is a great story about how companies can do the right thing, both by their business and by the communities they're in. It's wonderful to see people who can take a problem and find this kind of solution!

Eureka is the kind of town where you know your neighbor and do whatever you can to solve problems. You don't wait for government to fix things, you use government to talk about it and then get things fixed any way you can.

I completely agree with recently retired in the praise given to WW Clyde & Co and Geneva Rock. To see big corporations with a heart is renewing to my faith in society. Employees of both companies should be proud to work for such great organizations.

I give you a standing ovation!

This story has a wonderful ending, but the beginning needs to be told. Nancy Underwood, Traci and many others on the baseball committee have done the homework on this project for over two years. Without their undying perseverance the wonderful ending would have never happened. Every time they were told, "No," or "that will never happen," they ignored the "nay-sayers" and tredged forward. Our baseball committee may be small, but they are a force to be reckoned with. No, Nancy, it's not a miracle, its the results of hundreds of hours of hard work. This is the result of a select few making a difference for many. These kids will tell their children about that homerun with the bases loaded years from now, and it's all because of our baseball committee's determination of knocking down obstacles to make it happen. This is how real change happens.

Yes, Nancy, there is a Santa Claus, and he drives a big yellow bull dozer.

I just want to thank Nancy and the rest of the baseball committe for all that they have done to get this project rolling. Because of your perserverance my kids will have a wonderful field to play on someday.

And a big, big thank you to W.W. Clyde and Geneva Rock for donating their time, equipment and expertise to ensure that my kids will have a level field to play on someday.

This renews my faith in this little town I call home. Eureka has so much to offer and this is only just the beginning.

Thank you, Thank you!

Not only is this a great gesture by W.W. Clyde and Geneva Rock, but this is something that the children will remember for a very long time.

I grew up in Utah but now live in Idaho, and love uplifting stories like this...I read Utah news frequently, and today was a good day to have something uplifting...shouldn't everyday have something like this? I think so! Thanks, DN for sharing this 'good news' and 'gift', and thanks to those of you who donated your time, effort, resourses, and talent to fulfill a need. There is hope.

FINALLY!! I wish this would have been done years ago. I know that my fellow teammates and Coach B would have loved to have this done a long time ago.

I grew up in Eureka and it is really nice to know that those baseball fields are getting some TLC. Thanks to Nancy, Traci, Greg, W. W. Clyde, Geneva Rock and anyone else that played a part in this. I remember being on those fields with my team and wondering why ours was so different than everyone else's, like our fields weren't important enough for grass, haha. Thanks again everyone and I know someday soon my children and nieces and nephews will play on those fields, too!

I am happy to hear a local company step-up to the plate and go to bat for a cummunity.

It has been a great couple of days in Eureka, and at the end, WW Clyde and Geneva Rock were able to put on their most productive GPS Machine Control training session yet, while helping a community that welcomed us with warm greetings (in the cold weather) and many thanks. We thank you, Eureka and the Baseball Comittee, for the opportunity, and we are anxiously looking forward to a loud shout of "play ball" this coming season!

We wish you all the best!
