D-Will should sit and rest his ankle, let Price/Knight/Miles do the point guard
job,we don't want to loose D-Will for the entire season along with loosing
games with him,there's too much at stake.. yes I agree D-Will has the heart
of trying to help his team, but you gonna use your head too!

I wouldn't mind seeing DWill take another week off to rest the ankle before
trying to come back as close to 100% as possible. After all, that's what
Boozer seems to be doing.

Whatever happened to the days of playing through the pain? Strained Quad, sore
hip, hurt pinky, upset stomach and half the team is out for months. It's

Anyone still think the Jazz are better without Boozer? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller.
Bueller. That's what I thought. The Jazz are not better without Boozer as
the 3 home losses to subpar teams have indicated. Haslem for Boozer? No
comment, I would not take him over Millsap let alone Boozer. Playing through
pain? Some injuries cannot be played through especially a quad. Jazz fans are
unbelievable. The Jazz will still win their 50 games, right now they are not
healthy. 12-8 with all these injuries is not an emergency situation. Go Jazz!

Hummmmm.....So according to you "Mo" everyone is horrible on this team
except Milsap. I guess I didn't realize that Milsap was so good that he
could single-handedly get us within 4 points of victory. I thought I saw 4
other guys playing with him? Guess not........Ok now for the rest of you fans.
In the NBA, different nights, different players step up. One night a certian
lineup works and the next night it doesn't work. The problem is that Sloan
is too limited with being able to change up things as everyone is in the ER
right now. Maybe last night Boozer would have carried us (oh wait he
didn't play) OK last night AK should have carried us (oh you say he
didn't play either) hummmm OK Brevin came off the bench to give us a lift
(Oh him too) Ok well the ever dependable Harpring gave us 12 points off the
bench (him too). With the lineup we have right now, we couldn't beat a
JR.Jazz team.

Needs to be on the court. the last 3 games when he's in the game our
deficit goes down. When Sloan takes him out the other teams lead goes up. This
rookie does have a huge impact on the game in a positive way. Its time to break
from the norm. Memo appears slow and over weight.
With Koufos in the line up the opposing teams do not make all those easy layups in the paint. He physicaly does something about it. The kid has got quickness and length. Lets use it. We need it.

Dwill is playing and helping more than he's hurting us. Playing will
actually strengthen the ankle and the chance of hurting it are no better then if
it was healthy. Sure he could come down on someone's foot and reinjure it
but that has nothing to do with it being injured now.
If the Jazz want to be a contender they can't give up winable games. Dwill knows that and is trying to make a diference.

Mo (more) Koufos, Price, and Almond was the intended verbage.Memo, D Will and our man C.J.(taking early bad shots not within the flow of the offense.) are hurting us the past few games. D Will is about 50%. Maybe let C.J. play back up point so we can keep pushing the ball up the floor.

For the person calling his post Genuis Fans, maybe you need to show a little
more intelligence on the fact that it is not only your beloved Boozer not
playing that is causing us to lose. Also, what Genuis Fans needs to understand
that without Boozer, we are missing Milsap's points and rebounds off the
bench. Give the Jazz another Millsap type player to back him up and we would be
winning these close games, even with all the other players playing injured or
not playing at all.

We had plenty of chances to get back in the game. Can't always blame
everything on us being as hurt as we are. We were shooting horrible last night.
Not too mention all the offensive rebounds we let them grab. We are still a
very capable team, even with all the injuries. We just need guys to box out and
hit shots.

I haven't been able to watch the Jazz this year except for two early-season
Clipper/Jazz contests (which were on local TV). It pains me to see the box
scores and the losses; but right now I think the key is to not make snap
decisions (I'm talking to fans who seem to have lost their grip on
reality). None of the teams in the West except for the Lakers look like a
contender at the moment. Portland has shown flashes; Denver has shown flashes;
but it's not like they're unbeaten. As banged up as the Jazz are,
they are right there with all the teams. Remember that this team was 16-16 last
season late in December.
I think the best part of this difficult situation (trying to look at it positively) is that players that would not get much time (Almond, Koufos, etc.) are getting considerable experience playing against NBA quality opponents. This will pay off in the long run. If we let morons who get upset over every Jazz loss run this team (morons=some of the bloggers) the Jazz would become the laughing stock of the NBA. You don't panic and make stupid judgements with every loss. Go Jazz!!!

He is scoring about 10 points per game making 82 baskets out of 174.
However, most of his shots are dunks. Shoot a three pointer and he is .33%, shoot a 15 footer who knows.
The reason the Jazz lost last night is Miami made the Jazz shoot from outside. Very few Dunks and layups. Mean while the Heat scored more points from out side. As one commentator stated someone needed to step up. Miles sure didn't he had a whole 7 points.

1-Lack of rebounding- Marion and Haslem ate them up, or tipped them out to their guards.
2-Terrible defense- Memo had 2 key fouls late in the game which were stupid fouls, one in which the shot clock was winding down and it gave Miami free throws.
3-Poor on the offense end- They looked stagnant, the zone really bothered them. They did not look like they had a lot of energy and of course turnover.
That is why they lost the game. D Will has a lot of heart, he is trying to help the team, he obviously is not 100%. Injuries have bit the Jazz. Thank you for your post concerned fan I agree with you, instead of fans dissing our players for injuries, let's understand they are part of the game and they are not sitting because they are pansies or have no heart but this is a physical game, and I would rather them sit for 10-15 games then lose them for the season. MO I don't want CJ at the point right now. I want him on the wing running
for dunks. Cj has plenty of heart. You can't just run at the basket for
dunks. Until you hit some outside shots, the middle is clogged up. Keep
shooting CJ. The problem isn't Cj's jumper. It is the lack of
playing together as a team due to all the injuries. When this team is healthy,
we have a deep deep bench. Right now the bench is having to carry the team
instead of playing their roles.

Stockton will go down in history as better than D-Will is that he never got
hurt. Until his final season he may have missed ten games in 19 years.

They were consistent and they were in on the court about every single game of their careers. I cant believe all the "experts" on this post are writing the Jazz
off. We had stretches worse than this as recent as last year and that was with
Boozer, AK, and Dwill. Okur had real bad stretches last year. CJ will play
himself out of the lineup if his game doesn't improve by the time the
injured players are back. Sloan has had many players over the years that were
given the chance in the first quarter of the season to start, and played
themselves out of the lineup. There is nothing you can do about the injuries.
I'm amazed at the number of people who think a guy is going to play
injured as well as when he is healthy (and then these same fans will complain
when they don't). Sloan would be an alarmist if the Jazz had a ten game
winning streak, thats just his coaching style.

Is anybody else wondering where D-Will's leadership is? I am glad that he
is playing - even though he is clearly hurting - but I would like to see a
little more vocal leadership. Not just on the court, but also in the media. I
know that the Jazz players already see him as a leader, but I think he can step
it up a notch. I want to see him with a little more fire and emotion. I think
the Jazz would benefit a great deal if D-Will would take a page out of
Millsap's book. I think that is the key to the future success of the Jazz.
The young players seem to feed off of that...just my opinion.

At this rate, Almond will be replacing CJ in the line up despite Miles'
posts about how great CJ is....Memo has really stunk it up when he was sorely
needed these past two games. We need more Jazz players who play with the heart
that D-will and Milsap play with every night. We had one in Fisher but we let
him go. We have one in Price but he's just not a good point guard.
Harpring, injured..It's hard to watch pampered millionaires who show no
passion for their work!! I also think Jerry got out coached by a pup on the
other bench. After the first quarter, we couldn't consistently do anything
against their D-fense. Maybe we need a different assistant coach/some new blood
to come in teach a new philosophy on defense. Boston did it.....why not us? I
don't see us getting better on D. But you know we are the STATUS QUO state
of the NBA!!

Everyone got spoiled with Malone and Stockton. They were the most resilient
players in the history of the league.....probably in the history of pro sports.
You will never see that again because no other team has ever seen it.
By the way, Sloan also said that Stockton set more (and better) screens than any guard.....ever. Watch the old video.
Those two guys were extremely tough but you also have to be lucky to go that long without, at least, twisting an ankle.

for CJ? That should make us a better team!!! CJ has been nothing but good for
this team. Almond,well, not wasting my words on him. Miles does the most with
his minutes. It's amazing that his stats are as good as Brewer's but
you all hate on Miles. Who gave up the most points last night, Brewer!! What
do you expect from Miles when he is playing with a bunch of scrubs? Hard to
score when your teammates can't set screens or stop anyone of defense. We

I remember watching Stockton twist his ankle so bad I could hardly watch the
replay on T.V. I was sure he'd be out at least a month. And then 10
minutes later he came out of the back with a heavily taped ankle and not only
played... but led the Jazz back to win the game! He didn't miss a game, or
even a quarter with a badly sprained ankle.
I admit that it takes a special competator to grit it out like that, and I don't blame Williams, AK, or Boozer for sitting out with legit injuries. We just don't have any of those truly tough players left. It's just the way the league is now.

My point, my friend is made by your other friends who are posting their musings, and are apparently getting to you.....I am only trying to set it straight with the real Jazz fans....not to appease or gloss over all the ongoing problems the Jazz organization has. Most of my postings are being screened out by 'Joe' the anti-negativity censor at DMN censor office, so you regular readers cannot see where I am really coming from. This posting will undoubtably be trashed as well....we'll see. The Jazz, as I have previously indicated, are out of business; and anyone who is not looking through rose colored glasses....are just kidding themselves. Korver, Millsap, and all of the other backups are just that....backups. They cannot be expected to compete with any of the other .500 plus, or near .500 teams. The Jazz are a 'B' team currently, and are not keeping up with the 'Jones'es' around the league. This league is strictly a 'Have Gun Will Travel' league. It is all about the haves and have nots. New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago are the main cities, and these cities need to dominate the league because of TV.

I think Deron could compete, but he needs to pass first. His arms still work and
he sees the floor as well as AK, he just needs to get the team in its offense to
get results. Deron does not need to be 100% to use the majority of his skills,
the others can get into the post and drive/kick while he is healing. Deron needs
to be the general and not worry about dunking right now.
If we have to play a scoring point, they should let Brewer or Miles cover them so we can lock them down better.

Miles thanks for taking the Almond bait..it's so easy to get to you!!..your
love for CJ is unquestioned in my eyes!!...Jerry on the other hand didn't
love Miles effort on the glass. Almond is starting to do the little things that
will get him more playing time especially now that Miles thinks he is a star in
this league and he doesn't have to rebound/play defense. P.S. don't
you think Korver's shot/wrist injury is gettting better cause he is pumping
in the 3's as of late? who do you think would win in a 3 pt contest between
Korver and Miles?

We are losing because AK is not playing. We miss having another passer on floor
and especially a tall passer who can see over most of the defense. We are
missing all his stats he brings--steals, tips, and deflections all result in
several more possessions and higher % shots for his team mates. How much did we
lose by? AK's stats easily make up the margin if he is on the floor.
AK makes other players around him better. Boozer does not. Boozer is a good offensive presence in the post and a liability every where else on the floor.
If Boozer was the only injury on this team we would be still winning at least 2 out of every 3 games and likely more. Millsap is averaging a double double in his starts (just 6-8 points less than Booz) BUT he is stopping/defending TWICE (at least) what Boozer does. Net pickup with Millsap.
Also Deron is still injured with his hip flexor AND his ankle issues. This compounds the need to get AK back.
All these injuries are sure frustrating for players, coaches, and the fans to have to deal with the when there was such high expectations.

The jazz will rally back strong to finish out the year. Yes I think we can all
count on them to be slightly above the mediocrity. They will barely miss a top
three seed. And barely loose to a contender in the play offs. But as long as
they are a semi-good team we will be content. Who wants a title?

Problems but none of them are worth panic. The PG play is poor. DWill just
can't do what he wants and needs to do. He tires hard and his health will
improve with time. Price gets too deep (below the free throw line) before he
makes decisions. That fouls up the offense and forces him into taking shots he
should not. Knight is hurt but hopefully that fixes pretty quick.
Memo has had some great games and some poor ones. He does what he can and he did play hurt last year. CJ is still developing. Almond is young and inexperienced but improving fast. Ditto for Koufos. Some match ups are good for them and some aren't.
SAP is a horse but even he gets some difficult match ups. The fact that the Jazz are playing .500 ball with this line up is amazing. They are not bad players just very inexperienced or banged up. Korver, Brewer, Memo etc. can't hit shots if they do not get the right passes in the right place at the right time. That also causes turnovers. Further, no one can play well if the offense is not being executed right.
Memo has had some great games and some poor ones. He does what he can and he did play hurt last year. CJ is still developing. Almond is young and inexperienced but improving fast. Ditto for Koufos. Some match ups are good for them and some aren't.
SAP is a horse but even he gets some difficult match ups. The fact that the Jazz are playing .500 ball with this line up is amazing. They are not bad players just very inexperienced or banged up.
