Collie lead the nation? | 4:59 p.m. Dec. 4, 2008
Does Collie really have more yards and catches than Michael Crabtree of Texas Tech and Des Bryant of Ok State? That sounds like it could be a little off to me. Collie is good but not anywhere close to as good as the other 2. Those are GREAT receivers and Collie is above average. I find it hard to believe that he has better stats than those 2 but I haven't checked the stats in a few weeks so if I am wrong let me know.
Re: Johnson | 5:26 p.m. Dec. 4, 2008
When did 205 yard become > than 303 yards????

You must be a byU grad!

By the way: TD pass to INT ratio
Johnson 4:0
Hall 0:6
Which is better?

Comp %
Johnson 82%
Hall 51%
Which is better?

Yards:
Johnson 303
Hall 205
Which is better?

Making comments like you did is why ALL byU fans get a bad rap, Hall did not outplay Johnson!

By the way: BCS, BCS, BCS, BCS

Have fun playing Arizona in Vegas!
Its great when ESPN calls Utah's football program the best Non-bcs team in the country, year after year! Sorry Boise State
Collie? | 5:39 p.m. Dec. 4, 2008
Many of you don't understand football. Collie had a great year but at best makes an impact on 10-15 plays a game. You act as if 1st team honors were not good enough for a WR.

Johnson lead his team to a 12-0 season and a BCS birth and has the ball in his hands on every play. Ask Max Hall how his leadership and decision making in the two biggest games BYU played this year worked out?

Johnson was clutch in every game and every moment that made a difference this year and was by far the best player on the field on 11/22. Quit crying coug fans and smell the reality.

johnson??

You said 'Brian Johnson?! The boy isn't even in the same class as Max Hall. Max put up MORE yards than Brian Johnson in the U BYU game. He has FAR superior numbers on the season in every catigory.'

Do those superior numbers include 6 turnovers (5 interceptions) to Johnson's zero? Hall may have won a few games for byu, but he sure lost the one that counted. Deal with it.
Correction | 6:19 p.m. Dec. 4, 2008
For the record Hall did not outgain Johnson in the Utah - BYU game. Hall was 21 - 41 for 205 yds and Johnson was 30 - 36 for 303 yds.

Way to go Utes. Well-deserved! How was Sakota not a unaminous vote?

Nice to see a lot of underclassmen listed. The MWC will be fun to watch again next year!

Go Utes!
Max | 6:44 p.m. Dec. 4, 2008
Johnson deserved it, absolutely. What is most important to the QB - wins.

12-0 for the season
3-0 vs. top 25 teams

By comparison, Max Hall was #2 QB
10-2 for the season
0-2 vs. top 25 teams.

Great job, Brian. See you in New Orleans. Go Utes!!
re: johnson@1:25 | 6:50 p.m. Dec. 4, 2008
Um... that would actually be 6 Hall turnovers. Could have been 3-4 more if Ute DB's could catch the ones that hit them right in their hands.

Credit to the Ute defense, though. Hall is is a good QB and played well in games against lesser defenses but againt the Utah's and TCU's... well, history speaks for itself.

Go Utes!!! See you in Phoenix / New Orleans!!
last year | 8:54 p.m. Dec. 4, 2008
who lost last year yeah yewts collie ran over you on 4th and 18

who won confrence last year not the yewts

yeah BYU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no one cares | 9:25 p.m. Dec. 4, 2008
Nobody cares who won last year... It is only this year that matters!!! Utah = 2 BCS bowls, BYU = 0 BCS bowls and a shotty national championship bac! (before anyone cared)
Gotta love'em | 9:47 p.m. Dec. 4, 2008
It's easy to tell when BYU has had a disappointing year. The fans will either reflect on a suitable event in the past or predict a glorious future. Either way, oblivious to the here and now. So, bizarre.

No wonder Coach Whittingham turned down BYU.
What have you done for me lately | 10:32 p.m. Dec. 4, 2008
How many BCS appearances/wins do you have? How many Number one overall draft picks do you have and when was the last time you had TWO perfect seasons in only Five years? What have you done for me lately? I mean besides the 5 interceptions! Maybe you should re name the LV bowl. The "Quest" bowl. I know a phone company and a guy named after a horse that would support it!
Collie lead the nation? | 11:22 p.m. Dec. 4, 2008
I just looked it up and Collie does lead the nation in catches but he does not lead it in TDs or in Receptions or in Average. Props to Collie for having the most yards.
BJ??? | 12:34 a.m. Dec. 5, 2008
Offensive player of the year??? What a joke. He was not ahead of Hall in any offensive category. That award was based on one game, not the whole season. MVP, maybe. Last I checked, offensive player of the year went to the best offensive player. That award was Hall's or Collie's. BJ winning it is a completely idiotic and moronic pick. How does the guy who breaks the MWC record on for td's on a 10-2 team not win it?
3rd place | 12:43 a.m. Dec. 5, 2008
You people who say a third place team should not have the offensive player of the year are nuts. What does that have to do with anything? Offensive players don't play defense, and last I checked they play a part in the final record. 3rd place is nothing to scoff at, Ute fans should know since that is usually where their team is...of course when the utes do it they are 7-5, not 10-2. Enjoy your good seasons every 5 years. Ute fans comments make their little brother syndrome so transparent. Good luck getting crushed in the BCS...where TCU belongs not the lucky Utes (see missed chip shot fg's, and Max Hall's gifts). You are 10-2 and in third place if not for those gifts. The Utes are really the third best team and it will show when they lose by 30 points to Alabama or Florida.

BCS.... 2
Beating BYU 48-24... PRICELESS!!!

"Brian Johnson?! The boy isn't even in the same class as Max Hall. Max put up MORE yards than Brian Johnson in the U BYU game. He has FAR superior numbers on the season in every catigory."
------------

Says more about your program the Utah. Even with a crappy QB were going to the BCS.

I agree with you BJ is average... sucks to be you if you can't beat an average QB.

Its our D the rules! Why couldn't USU take Ludwig?
RE: Whinners | 4:09 a.m. Dec. 5, 2008
"There's a big difference between a blocked kick and a missed kick."

There's also a BIG difference between TCU and Washington. Also, TCU didn't score the TD it was BJ.

There's also a big difference between Utah and BYU: 48-24.
So SAD | 4:22 a.m. Dec. 5, 2008
"A two-point win over the worst Michigan team in history???"

What is this BYU fans crying about Utah team beating a weak Michigan team.

Can someone name a national title game where a team had 5 losses? I will give you a second.

84* vs Michigan
Lil Bro | 4:34 a.m. Dec. 5, 2008
"Ute fans comments make their little brother syndrome so transparent. Enjoy your good seasons every 5 years"

Good luck in Vegas!! On 4th and 18 you can throw it to Harline he'll be open against a weak Pac-10 team.

2004 vs 1984... I'll take BCS every 4 years.

All BYU Fans Please Read:

Guess who voted for the Offensive Player of the Year? It was the MWC Football Coaches. Guess who Bronce Mendenahll voted for? Brian Johnson!

BYU's own coach voted for Brian Johnson as Offensive Player of the Year. What does that tell you? It tells me that BYU's coach knows the best player when he sees him.
Joke League | 12:21 p.m. Dec. 5, 2008
This is not the First Team Quarterback in the MWC? No wonder this league is a joke.

To Joke League | 12:51 p.m. Dec. 5, 2008
Unfortunately for you, Bronco (BYU's coach) voted for Brian Johnson as Offensive Player of the Year.

Maybe you should vent some of your frustration at BYU's coach for voting for Brian Johnson, instead of venting your frustration to the Ute fans.
Re: Joke League | 1:24 p.m. Dec. 5, 2008
#15 Max Hall: 10-2

#3 Brian Johnson: 12-0
Scott | 2:27 p.m. Dec. 5, 2008
hey joke league - Max Hall is Mr. Interception when facing good defenses. Look at the Utah and TCU games. Max was lucky when Air Force defenders dropped 3 easy picks...

He is not a Heisman candidate anymore after those 3 games!!
GoManUReds | 4:38 p.m. Dec. 5, 2008
I used to think (years ago and when I was very naive) that I could root for the Yewts for the "good of the conference" etc. I used to think that 'most of the Yewt fans are good people...it's those few bad apples...". It's not true. Yewt fans, by-in-large, have terrible sportsmanship, are terrible hosts (nothing worse the RES for a visiting team) and are terrible people. Read the comments before and after any Y vs U game (pick your sport) and the vast majority of negative inappropriate comments (including referencing religious beliefs) belong to Yewt fans. I will never root for any Yewt team under any circumstances...nor should any fan in the MWC. The individual athletes may not all deserve to be disliked but the Yewt fans have more than earned the hatred of the league on behalf of the entire athletic department(even when your team(s) is terrible you deserve to be despised).
Along way from the Horn Country | 5:00 p.m. Dec. 5, 2008
To all you MWC fans and BYU/UU fans;

The Utes are really going to wake up in a land of unknown if and when the horns go to the Fiesta. I look forward to my plane tickets to the bowl. Just licking my chops for the chance to see the Utes get pounded. Living in SLC is nice but watching you two universities go at it, is like two jackasses fighting over a turnip.

All you Ute fans will not be playing a weak east team this go around and you will be able to see how it feels to get smoked.

See ya'll in Tempe.

Hookem Horns....
re GoManUReds | 5:03 p.m. Dec. 5, 2008
so true, so true.
Clutch | 11:47 a.m. Dec. 6, 2008
The fact of the matter is, in the big games Johnson came up huge. In BYU's big games Collie didn't - sure he still had his 100 yards, but didn't see that white powdery substance known as the goal line.
Front Page | 11:59 a.m. Dec. 6, 2008
Did anyone see the front page story today? Max Hall just threw another pick.
Knives | 12:00 p.m. Dec. 6, 2008
BYU players should run with knives in their hands. On every video game, you run faster when you're holding a knife.
