$50 to a $125 for listening to a story or watching a stage show, a talk, or do we get to see a movie? Is it that good that it can compete with the likes of "CATS", a professional opera or a classical concert? But ofcourse only for the rich folks. Sorry, but me and my friends won't be there. I pay that kind of money to "enjoy" an evening and not for a tear-jerker. Financially, it must be his "most important project of his life."

I am very impressed with Mr. Beck's financial and radio success. His method of layering religion and conservative politics with endless product endorsements and frequent weepy testimonials about his rebirth is a perfect product for Utah's entertainment starved population. I predict great success for Glen Beck.

A novel about a sweater. Sounds fascinating. I can't wait to hear if it was made out of wool or artificial fibers. Not to mention all the different color possibilities! Wow, no wonder they're flying off the shelves.

I was touched by what I just read. I too have a "biggest regret and greatest shame." It lives with me contantly, and that was twenty plus years ago, but unlike Mr. Beck, I can't tell my story, even though I think others can learn from it. It invoves a sexual addition, and a felony conviction, and how I arrived at that point,, and how the Lord has helped me through these times,and how I've come to love the Lord, and only wish to serve Him all the days of my life. He can and does change lives. I wish young and old could hear my story. There is hope!

Do read or listen to the "Christmas Sweater." We listened to the 5 CD's on our Thanksgiving road trip and laughed and cried through the whole program. Then Glen bears his testimony at the end which explains this "Christmas Sweater" as his personal story. I went back to the store to find the book and they were all sold out! Need to re-stock.

I watched Glenn for a while, but then realized that it was the usual self serving, self made man who is so critical of others who don't lean his way, that I turned him off.

Now he is headed for Fox. That's about par. Too bad, because I think 50% of his act is real and if he could expand that into compassion and love, it would be a great show to watch. His story is a compelling one, but he forgot to love all people and embrace Christ's teachings. He only loves those who think and act like him. Very small minded.

I hope his book and show are successful, though. What is does next on Fox will be the ruler that measures him into the future. Another strident voice? Another critic? Or a leader based on love and acceptance, like the Christ.

Time will tell.

Go Grandma, go! You are absolutely right about those who knock others who are successful. Glenn is a giving, honest person who has gone through a lot in his short life, and deserves everything he gets for turning his life around and for helping others. Buy his DVD about his conversion story, if you don't want to see the Christmas Sweater, of buy his book, but don't belittle this true saint who is trying to help others who are going through serious addictions and challenges.

Try reading it or listening to it before condemning it for a change ET. Your comment here this morning is so typical of your ongoing analysis. I suspect strongly that you condemn it just because it is Glenn Beck, and anything from a source foreign to your thought track must be "horrible". Open your mind a little. You might find therre is much good in the world, even from the "other" side once in a while.

Gads people! Idiots do run amok here? Are there a few of you out there who live to do nothing else but tear others down? Glenn is extremely loving and compassionate. If you had give him half a chance, you would see that. His love for and understanding of Christ's teachings are immense, perhaps you are of the "tolerance equals acceptance" crowd? Glenn has been through a lot in his short life, to be sure, and he has earned his success step by step. Give the guy a break.

Give Beck a break? Here is a statement he said about the fires in Calif. "I think there is a handful of people who hate America, unfortunately for them a lot of them are losing their homes today." Beck is just another right-wing talking head who cloaks his hate with a few soft words. If he is an example of an LDS person, it makes me ashamed to be one. Too many Utah Mormons are star-struck.

That's one of the problems about our existence now is people like you who have nothing good to say about someone. Let he who is without sin or weakness cast the first stone. I would like to point out that the tickets are so expensive because of actual production costs for a show of this magnitude. I've been in several theatrical productions, some of which have made money, some of which have lost money. The profit margins on these things are very, very slim. Anyone who hasn't seen the back side of these productions might think that Glenn is making a killing...but again, the costs to put this on would surprise you. I can't personally afford to go, but that is OK. I will borrow the book and read it when I have a little time. And for those who say this is a dumb story because it is about a sweater: aren't all of the stories of our lives pretty mundane when they are broken down to the basic elements? But what makes them important is how they impact us. If his story was about the "Christmas Yacht," or something more "exciting," I dare say that wouldn't really make it any cooler of a story.

times and golden rule: I couldn't have said it better myself. There are partisans who will say mean things about Glenn because of his politics, but you get to the heart of the irony that Beck exemplifies. He treats people like absolute garbage while occasionally saying we need to just get along. I applaud him for all he has overcome with the alcohol, but it seems his emotional life needs an intervention. He is a charismatic person. If he could stay on point and model the good things he says he could change America for the better.

People who say he is self serving and just looks for money is way off base. He has talked many times how he will not make any money off this show even if he sells every ticket because of how expensive the production is. It cost more to produce than what his last two tours made combined. He feels strongly that his story needs to be told, even if it doesn't make money. It is extreamly important to him.

Glenn Beck is a courageous, phenomenal Latter-day Saint. With a compelling story to tell. Very happy for him and glad he is on our side. CNN probably had to defend him too long for his conservative views. He is a better fit on FOX and I'm sure it will be a relief for him to ride on elevators with others of like mind. GO GLENN!

For thoes of you who can't afford to go to the E-Center for Glenn's show, he is doing a satelite broadcast to a bunch of theaters in Northern Utah.

There were cheaper tickets going for $26 each, but those are sold out.

To the people who disagree with him, I question if you have actually listed to him. He accurately predicted that we were headed to the perfect financial storm, and now look, we are there.

I call it having your panties in a wad. But really, I was wanting to go see Beck's show, but we have taxes and Christmas and helping out kids right now, so it was not an expense we could justify. But I looked it up and the movie version will be playing about ten minutes from where I live, we will be there.

Honestly, I sometimes find Glenn Beck a little weird, but that is his open and honest personality, he doesn't put on for the camera. I am really excited to see him on Fox, they will talk to him in the elevator. And I am sure that they even talk to Colms (sp) in the elevator.

I am from St. Louis and went to Glenn's show last Monday evening. This production is about the Atonement of our Saviour, and how He has impacted Glenn's life. There is a fictional character in the production (who to the audience), can be anyone we can visualize for ourselves (as we picture ourselves in the story). That person exemplfies Christ.
This was a story to uplift all who see it. It was a lovely Christmas present for me. Thank you Glenn for sharing it with us all.

Perhaps some of the comments here are uninformed or out of line, but to call it sour grapes anytime someone disagrees with him is not fair either. I'm sure Beck's book and stage presentation are touching and uplifting. I hope those who fork out for them enjoy what they see or read. However, the attitude Beck displays on his radio and TV show toward people who disagree with him is frequently inconsistent with what I consider to be the essence of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is welcome to his views but by saying I'm not welcome to mine, he is doing a disservice both to his country and his religion. Unfortunately, if he welcomed opposing views he wouldn't have an audience and wouldn't be on TV and radio. Ultimately, it's all about the benjamins.

I just read this book last week. It was excellent and a great way to get into the spirit of Christmas! It exemplified what Christmas is all about. If you are looking for a touching, sweet christmas story--I highly recommend it!
