It is good to see Gary start taking responsibility for his actions. Next he needs to pay the victim for the injuries he has caused
Why? | 11:58 a.m. Dec. 2, 2008
I just want to know why he is wearing a snowsuit and snowboots. I haven't seen any snow here in months.

"Coleman said his lawyer will fight hard to protect his wallet."

We'll see how protected Gary's wallet is when the lawyer sends the bill!

Arnold has always enjoyed wearing moonboots and snow pants. Maybe Arnold thought the Judge would be a little nicer if he looked like a child.

Coleman has a wallet? What's he worried about, his insurance company is going to have to pay for this.
Provocation | 12:23 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
The incident is unfortunate, but it was provoked by the "victim", who had the audacity to continue to take photos of Coleman and his truck even after the actor and his entourage made it clear that this intrusion of privacy was not welcome. When someone repeatedly behaves in such a rude, ill-bred way, it's hard to muster up a civil response. Not that it excuses the actions of Coleman and co., but I hope whoever hears the civil trial will bear in mind that the defendant was being a real jerk.
Enough already | 12:36 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Hasn't he gone waaay over his 15 minutes of fame?
What ya talkin about? | 12:37 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Does he sit on a booster seat to drive that big rig? At least he got a gig in the news for this. Its the most he has been seen/noticed for years!

Nice snowpants there Gary. Way to show up in style.
c4mackk | 1:30 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
He should get a train conductor hat with a red scarve to complete the outfit.

Does anyone really care? Gary Coleman, despite a few antics over the last few years, has not been relevant in the public eye for 20 years.

A dog and pony show

Gary Coleman suffers from focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (an autoimmune destruction and alteration of the kidney), which halted his growth at an early age, leading to a small stature (4 ft 8 in; 1.42 m). He has undergone two kidney transplants, one in 1973 and one in 1984, and requires daily dialysis.

As for what Mr.Coleman is wearing in this picture...sometimes dialysis patients suffer from any extreme rise or drop in temperature.

It is plausible that he wears the ski overalls to keep his core temperature regulated after dialysis.

How very revealing, and sad, that some see fit to mock the man's physical appearance and limitations, and indeed even to question his relevance as a human being.

For not caring - quite a few comment about Gary. Maybe we should just let him alone. I think I would get a little ticked if someone was sticking a cell phone camera in my face and in my truck.

He is just a resident in a quiet town, leave it alone and go home.
To Hmmm | 3:13 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
If Gary Coleman wants to be left alone and if we should "leave it alone and go home," as you say, maybe Coleman should quit allegedly committing acts that require law enforcement and judicial involvement and stop engaging in publicity-seeking antics aimed at resurrecting his 15 minutes of TV fame from two-plus decades ago.
Here here | 3:45 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
To hmmm said it best. if Coleman want to be left alone, STAY AWAY! The only reason Coleman was upset at Rushton and eventually ran him over is because Rushton would not pay $20 per photo!
You money grubbing... | 5:02 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
P.W.T. need to leave Gary alone. He is not a wealthy person anymore.

Just leave him alone.

Coleman looks so cute in his little cowboy outfit. I think my 10 year old son has the same one.
Re: to hmmmm and here here | 6:23 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
How about we all come over to your houses and start taking pictures of you and your family members without your consent.

Know matter what your reasons, I am fairly certain running someone over is illegal... You shouldn't be able to get off no matter what.
Run over? Doubtful | 4:34 a.m. Dec. 3, 2008
If anyone cares to read the facts of the case, Rushton walked behind the vehicle (not a prudent move) in an attempt to block it. Coleman didn't "hit the gas" and run him over--much is exaggerated in Rushton's claim. If Coleman had realy hit Rushton as his lawyer contends, he wouldn't have been able to get a plea and abeyance.

I wish people would just leave this poor guy alone. He came to Utah to live in a small town and live a quiet life. He's clearly had a lot of problems over the years, but he's a really smart and talented person. His parents stole the money he made as an actor and he has struggled a lot since.

There's no question he has problems, but people just need to show a little kindness and leave the poor guy alone.
Who instigated? | 8:14 a.m. Dec. 3, 2008
Rushton instigated everything that happened here. When it's played out in court, it will be evident what happened. Coleman was BOWLING and trying to enjoy a night out with the wife. Someone starts taking pictures of him, he sends the bodyguard over to tell him to stop. Rushton ignores it, keeps taking pictures, follows Coleman out of the bowling alley to take more. At this point, the bodyguard or Coleman took the phone away, I believe. Rushton stood behind their vehicle as a result, refusing to let them leave, and got himself hit as a result. Then we are to believe that 4'8" Gary Coleman beat the living tar out of him? Doubtful. Sounds like another paparazzi seeking payment from a celebrity he trapped into a situation.

"Know matter what your reasons, I am fairly certain running someone over is illegal... You shouldn't be able to get off no matter what."
Nope, not always illegal. One can legally use a vehicle as a weapon when sufficiently endangered. If a drunk wearing dark clothing passes out in the middle of the dark road at night and is struck by a car, most likely the driver won't be charged. If someone wanders onto the freeway and is struck, most likely the driver won't be charged. I know from personal experience with one of these scenarios.

The tormentor is worse than the paparazi chasing Princess Diana. He was hoping to sell the pics to the media and spice it up with a shot of his driving seat. Why not pics of a war vet paraplegic.
Colemen should counter sue for defamation and abuse of process. $10,000 for what actual injury rather tnan a personal injury doctor's statement? Give me the guy a break, Utah.
randy | 10:58 a.m. Dec. 3, 2008
and the judge said i hope i dont see you here again .. then why did the legal system even entertain the court appearance in the first place ??
rushton should have been run over and killed .. are they going to let him out of jail so he can be at the civil trial ?? ...

so sorry gary .. too bad we have gut less
Anonymous | 11:05 a.m. Dec. 3, 2008
I didn't read the article, but saw alot of comments. Just wondering why many people are concerned about Coleman's personal court issues. Who cares if he has money or insurance to pay for whatever he did, just as long as he does what the judge has required.
Coleman should sue | 12:59 p.m. Dec. 3, 2008
Coleman should sue the jerk who stalked and harrassed him. He deserves the same kind of respect you or I do. None of us should have to tolerate this kind of intrusion.

Ever noticed the striking resemblance between Gary Coleman and Paul Milsap?
Loser | 1:56 p.m. Dec. 3, 2008
Coleman doesn't even have auto insurance! This isnt the first incident with him and his vehicle. Somebody ought to look at closer at some police records. Don't even feel sorry for him. He uses his "fame" to get away with not covering his obligations. Come on Gary you know what I am talking about... Some people are still waiting for you to make that right.
tigerlily | 2:37 p.m. Dec. 3, 2008
to Hmmmmmmmm: mr coleman has every right to be out in public anytime he wants to, just like you do. however the other man had no business taking his picture after being told no. that is clearly an imvasion of privacy
tigerlily | 2:38 p.m. Dec. 3, 2008
to loser: if he didn't have insurance i'm sure the truck would have been impounded a long time ago
I agree with Cats | 3:15 p.m. Dec. 3, 2008
Gary moved here to get away from that life... let him be, Shame on Rushton... someone with a clear criminal and I MEAN criminal background, past and present. Want to check police records, CHECK THAT!! I hope he doesnt get a DIME. He brought this on himself. $10 grand in medical bills and how much in fines to the Court or other restitution HE owes people from serious crimes he's committed.
awesomeron | 9:10 p.m. Dec. 3, 2008
Gary has anger issues, and if I was Gary I would have them also. I hope he gets through this okay.
re: Re: to hmmmm and here here | 4:54 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Your argument almost works, except no one in this case broke into Gary Coleman's home and started taking pictures of him. He was at a bowling alley.
