My son graduatied last year, but I'll remain a big Dart supporter. My boy tells me this years group is just as dangerous as last. We'll know a lot more about Davis in the next few weeks. Take a look at their schedule. Tomorrow, home against Jordan, then it's on the road for the rest of the month. They even have a stretch of 4 games in 5 days all on the road including games against Bingham and WJ on consecutive nights. No one has a tougher stretch than that. Let these boys prove it on the court. They'll be fine! btw - Cowser is a beast! He plays way bigger than 6'4".

I see them getting through pre-season with no more than 1 or 2 losses, then running the table again in an admittedly weak region 1. GO DARTS!!!!!!!

Taylorsville had a good team the last two years who are we kidding? The competition has just gone way down thats why every team will be some what good this year. T-ville will do good this year that is because where is the competition?
0-2 Red Devils | 10:23 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Two games, two losses, and Springville fans think they're a top 20 team. Yea right. Get real folks.

Our Silverwolves should look polished. 30 boys in the program and only 1 Football player. You can see why it is difficult to win a playoff game in any sport if we don't share athletes. Friel would be a dynamite player. They need encouragement not discouragement to play another sport. Our girls programs do and we are defending region champs in basketball, soccer, volleyball and track. The hated school to our north have several players that play football and basketball. They also have our number in those 2 sports. In contrast their girls basketball, soccer, and volleyball have succumbed to the Lady Silverwolves because their girls bball coach discourages participation in other sports. When you have multiple competitive experiences you perform better in big games. I see Coach Ence supporting his girls in other sports. This guy has it figured out. He may want to take the next step and apply for the Head Men's coach at the new school in Herriman. I heard he played Div 1
at USU.

Whoever said Lone Peak played the worst game of the season last year against davis is so so so wrong! Davis was by far the better team, and lone peak should feel extremely lucky to have gotten out of there with a win. But i agree with you this years Davis team will not even come close to last years. What that group of boys had was absoulty amazing and will not happen again for a very long time! Good luck too all the teams this year, lets have another good year.

Davis is going to be a major disappointment this year. You can't expect them to do what they did last year. Those boys last year had something special that doesn't come along often!
Dartman | 6:50 a.m. Dec. 3, 2008
My guess is you don't have a clue about this years team. This isn't last years team. This is this years team, and this years team is pretty darn good. How about we let the players decide how good they'll be. GO DARTS!
To: 0-2 Red Devils | 7:11 a.m. Dec. 3, 2008
yeah, 0-2 to the best two teams in Utah county. It could still mean they are the third best team in Utah county. Time will tell.

The Devils had PG on the ropes the whole game. I could have easily gone either way.

We can't go wrong with our quality coaching staff. I like that new coach with the red face. He's so passionate about the game and really seems to connect with the boys. Notsure why Timpview didn't make a place for him on their coaching staff, but their loss is our gain.
region6-2a | 8:03 a.m. Dec. 3, 2008
region 6 the strongest?hahahaha
their number one team lost to the number 4 team in region 5 last year AND the year before! hahaha what a JOKE!any region with automatic loss east in it cannot be considered a strong region.region 6 would have a tough time against most 3a and 2a schools!

Who really cares where teams are ranked right now? Give it a few weeks, and then we'll see who is for real. However, Judge Olympus and Lehi should not be ranked so high. They are not very good teams. Alta should be ranked higher they will be good. Jordan should be ranked higher as well. Both those schools are good. I think Alta will be better though.
Reggie | 9:40 a.m. Dec. 3, 2008
Taylorsville might have been a good team last year but their record did not indicate it. Edginton will carry them a long ways this year. 31 last night! Go Tville
CAAAAAA | 10:39 a.m. Dec. 3, 2008
Skyline Eagles. Period. Not one comment on them in 60. You'll all be fans by the end of the year when they are smokin' people.
TBT | 10:44 a.m. Dec. 3, 2008
Another strong showing from Riverton! Thomas stayed consistent with another 15 point game. Friel was also strong. Go Riverton, keep it up!

The two sweetest mascots face off tonight. The Darts and the Beetdiggers. Last time Davis played Jordan it was in the first round of the playoffs two years ago in which they lost. GET SOME REVENGE! GO DARTS!!
Hey Darkhorse | 11:09 a.m. Dec. 3, 2008
Did football season teach you anything? You were claiming Manti was the best football team in the state and how they could smoke Alta, Bingham and TV. They Manti does not even win 2A.

I admit there is not as big of a difference between the classes in basketball as there is in Football, but still, there is no way you can compete with the elite 4A or 5A teams that make up most of the Top 20. COME ON!!!

Do us all a favor and keep supporting your team and hope they win 2A. They have a shot, but if they don't you are going to look just as bad as your lame football comments all year. Stop already!!!
To; Dartman | 1:40 p.m. Dec. 3, 2008
When your team loses, are you the blue Dartman?
Region 7 | 1:42 p.m. Dec. 3, 2008
Not sure why anyone thinks that Region 6 is the best 4a region in the state...they do not even compare with Region 7. 7 has Provo (who just beat a team by 50 +), Orem (who beat two 5a teams this week by 25 +), Springville (who barely got beat by Lone Peak and was leading PG at half), Timpview (who is overrated on this top 20, but with Kafusi back will be good), Payson (who is better than teams give them credit for, and beat AF by 20), and Mt. View (who is 0-2, but barely lost both games to PG and a strong Lehi team).

Region 7 is probably the best region overall in the state this year, not just 4a. It's a shame that only 4 teams make the tournament. Out of the four teams that make it, however, I wouldn't be surprised if 3 of them were in the semi's.
WJ #1 | 2:06 p.m. Dec. 3, 2008
The West Jordan Jaguars are the best team in the state of Utah end of story. Put us up against anyone.. And our fans will mess up any other fan base in the state of Utah. Peace...

Just in case you are still wondering, Dixie beat enterprise 86-59.
RE WJ #1 | 5:20 p.m. Dec. 3, 2008
umm i go to jordan and davis easily has the best fans in the state...no doubt...last year against alta in the playoffs i heard some of the best fans ever and there was probably over 200 students there...jordan has great fans this year too...and

Being an Alta Alum and Alta Fan, there is not another more passionate group of kids as the students at Davis HS. I have watched games at both there home court, state and at home in Sandy. They are tasteful, but loud and proud. If the administration at Alta would allow the kids to cheer like Davis, Alta would contend....been to a lot of games the past 10 years in the state of utah, DAVIS fans do dominate. Hard for me to admit.....
homers_84606 | 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3, 2008
Haws may be the best player in the state but he will get a hand full when he matches up with Kyle Collinsworth later this week. Collinsworth is a junior and will start the process of picking his D1 school after this season is over. 6-5 and can shoot and defend really well. Go Bulldogs!
Pujols 4 Life | 10:14 p.m. Dec. 3, 2008
Scott Friel is an amazing player and i think that people are underestimating the Silverwolves. West Jordan and bingham is gonna have to work really hard to beat riverton this year. Pujols out
regionsix?? haha! | 10:24 p.m. Dec. 3, 2008
region 5 forth place team Woods cross for the 2nd time in the year-once in preseason once in state playoffs beat OLY-and lost to REGION 5 MT crest in the next round. Region 5 #1 BOUNTIFUL took PROVO to the last shot in state championship game--where were any teams from region 6 except at home blogging and pretending to be great because they kicked butt against east-the worst team in the state!!!Unranked wx is even better this year with much more even and balanced scoring and far better defensive players. shortest starter on region 5 wx team is 6'2" JAKE West who has the official highest verticle leap in the state-AAU official measurement plus they have 3 big players over 6'5" to handle the paint and 3rd year varsity senior Stahle who is averaging 24.5 points per game against 5a schools!
LP-Bountiful | 10:55 p.m. Dec. 3, 2008
LP is not good. They shouldn't be considered the state title favorite. What, you've won it two years in a row and 3 of the last 4? They only beat Bountiful by 30. I mean, if you want to be the favorite, you need to at least beat the 7th ranked team in the state and 2nd ranked 4A team by at least 31. Wow Lone Peak get your act together.
lp-funny | 7:52 a.m. Dec. 4, 2008
-funny post about LPvs Bountiful!.Bountiful has Sean Carey who could be the most athletic big man in the state and Travis Parrish who are both great defenders and can score but are NOT glory hogs like maxwell's sons and his H.S BUDDY's son CT. If Maxwell is going to have a good post BEN AIRD team he will need to put the talent to work that isn't named MAXWELL or TAYLOR!! REGION 5 will be much more balanced and competitive this year with no gimme games-any team can beat any team so I cannot wait for region play. Wood's Cross has FOUR three year varsity lettermen starting and a great trio of big men over 6'5" who have helped secure A 2-0 RECORD with two wins over 5a schools this year. WOODS CROSS could be a strong challenger along with Mountain Crest to Bountiful's reign in region 5. JUDGE is now way out of the top 20 mix now without any proven talent to speak of.
MOSTOVERRATED? | 8:09 a.m. Dec. 4, 2008
JUDGE AND OLYMPUS!judge lost too many starters to compete outside of 3a like they have with all state centers and college division one players of years past. OLYMPUS has a very weak record against any school not in the weakest region in the state-region 6.THEY lost to the 4th place team from region 5 last year TWICE! (once in preseason and once in first round of state playoffs) .plus their jv last year was worse. As the season progresses, I think we'll see many revisions to this LIST!!!
Bhs backer | 12:20 p.m. Dec. 4, 2008
2 varsity Bingham girls basketball players were starters on the volleyball team. The other 3 starters are getting recruited for basketball and have been for some time. I think they made a good decision in not wanting to get hurt in another sport. They made the decision to specialize, not the coach. Obviously, you don't have your facts straight but I do see your point in playing competitively in something before your number 1 sport. How about talking to the parents to find out why their children quit the other sport? Might have something to do with showcases and clinics where college coaches would be attending, clash with the other sport. No blame should be placed anywhere. Each family has to make their own decision on what is best for their child!

you can rank any team as high as you want the finals is going to include west jordan and lone peak(reyas vs. haws) no other game will really matter

JazzFan | 7:07 p.m. Dec. 6, 2008
Hey People, enough talk about who's team is the best. Preseason just started. Let's watch a few games before we jump to conclusions on who is the greatest. Really, none of these rankings matter....the state tournament matters and any team playing well can take it all the way. Lets go Hawks!
PAYSON LIONS | 3:46 p.m. Dec. 7, 2008
why is pineview ranked 12th?? they are 0-3 and lost to first year salem hills who lost to provo by 52 points it's provo and they're good, but 52 points?? payson is 3-0 and has beaten 2 5a teams already they should be ranked!!
Reggie | 12:06 p.m. Dec. 8, 2008
Jordan Edginton led Tville to another victory. 10 points 10 rebounds 7 assists and 3 steals 4 blocks. Tville also go 14 from Oakeson, 13 from McCloyn and 11 from Staker. They are very tough defensively also. They will be a top team this year. Go Tville!!!
Dartman | 2:41 p.m. Dec. 8, 2008
Prediction:
Davis 68
Logan 39

Davis slipped up against Jordan at home last week. What happened happened. Jordan is a pretty solid team but I still say we could beat them 8 of 10 times. Anyway, Tuesday night Davis will take care of business and get back in the winning way.
8 of 10 times? | 10:39 p.m. Dec. 8, 2008
If you were at the game, you would clearly admit that the better team won Dartman. Jordan led the entire game from the beginning of the 2nd quarter all the way to the end. They had a double digit lead for the majority of the 2nd half, and then some free throw struggles down the stretch allowed the game to be only a 4 point game.

Good luck against Logan, and maybe the Diggers and Darts will tangle again in the state tourney. I believe the Diggers won that last battle as well two years ago at state. So there are your "2 wins" out of the 10 with 8 games left to go.

Out!
Anonymous | 9:21 a.m. Dec. 9, 2008
Hey give Logan some credit. I go to Logan and I do think that Davis will win, they are pretty good, but not by that much. Logan won't lose by 29 points
