Utah Mann

I would much rather play Texas in the Fiesta bowl than BSU. BSU is over-rated and Utah would prove that by beating them by 50. I think a Utah Texas matchup would be great!!

Yawn

Utah vs. Boise St? Now there's an exciting game...watched by all the people in Utah and Idaho. Let's see, isn't that about 2.5 million people???

Wrong!!! Why would Junker kill the Fiesta Bowl to take two loser teams with no fan base or media market?? What have you people been drinking with your Postum??

I really, REALLY hope Utah gets a decent draw this year and gets shown up for their real level of talent which is mediocre at best.

Re: Utah Mann

Of course you would rather play Texas, because you would have nothing to lose and would be expected to lose...so no surprise when the Utes actually do lose. BSU, however, the Utes would have no excuse when the actually lose. The only hope the Utes would have of beating BSU would be if BSU's QB handed the game much like Hall handed the Utes the game. The Utes should be praying they don't see BSU because even if they do win, they were supposed to. No, the Utes only hope for a win is to play a lowly team from the ACC or Big East.

Utah-Boise = BCS concession

Such a matchup would be like the big money boys throwing a bone to the non-BCS little guys and render the Fiesta bowl as the least and most meaningless of the BCS bowls.

Utah needs to play the highest ranked BCS conference team available-hopefully someone like Texas.

A win against Boise means nothing-while a win against Texas or even Ohio State would make the MWC much more viable in the ultimate long-term BCS automatic qualifying battle.

Boise does not deserve a BCS bowl this year.

Realist

Utan man. Don't be so eager. You say Utah would beat BSU by 50? Maybe so, but I doubt it. However, the reverse could happen. Texas could beat Utah by 50. Be careful what you whish for. Go Broncos

I'm All For The MWC

The flag bearer for the MWC is UTAH, it should be TCU, congrats to the Utes! I hope they do well in representing the MWC however no matter which bowl game they play they will come home with a loss. I just hope it is not embarassing.

Outsider

Utah Mann, You are starting sound like a BYU fan. BSU would give Utah all it could handle since the game would be played on a neutral field. Utah would have to show it can play BIG time football away from home.

TV Rating

BYU would have a better rating on tv than any non bcs schools.

UTE Fan in MS

TV Rating: You lost to Utah, get over it!. BYU isn't going to a BCS game. Utah needs to play a Texas team or their equivalent, or they haven't proved anything all year. Beating a team like Texas would help the MWC and the WAC. BSU win over OK. helped, but many see that win as a fluke. Utah winning helps all the teams in the small market areas.

Belly Up To The Challenge

Boise would be a lousy match.
A win would not enhance Utah's reputation and a loss would hurt a lot.

If Utah hopes to improve its status it needs to BEAT an SEC or Big12 BCS bowl opponent.
(Ohio St or USC won't do)

DennyG

Hey TV RATING:
That is possibly the silliest thing I have ever read. What on earth would make you say such a thing?

Utah alum

Most likely BCS bowl matchups

National Championship:
Oklahoma vs Florida/Alabama winner

Rose:
USC vs Penn State (boring)

Fiesta:
Texas vs Ohio State (boring)

Sugar:
Utah vs Alabama/Florida loser (potential blowout)

Orange:
Cincinnati vs BC/Va Tech winner (least exciting)

USC

Utah has zero chance of playing USC; for the Trojans, it's Rose Bowl or bust.

TV ratings will give Ohio State the final at-large BCS bid instead of Boise State, even though the Broncos are a much more exciting team.

The best possible matchups would be:

Fiesta: Utah vs. Texas
Sugar: Boise State vs. Alabama
Orange: Va Tech vs Cinn
Rose: USC vs Penn State
NC: Florida vs Oklahoma

BSU

Boise State would run all over the U. The U doesn't want this game because they would get killed.

Beat a Ranked BCS team

For all the talk about Utah they have not beaten a ranked BCS. And please don't say Michigan was a big win, my nephew's pop warner team could have beat Michigan this year. Not your fault sometimes schedules don't are quirky but still not a quality win. How can you say that Utah would be Boise by 50 when:

A)History has shown they have never beaten Boise

B)Utah has no wins against ranked BCS opponents.

C) BSU went into Oregon at Oregon and defeated the Ducks

I won't say BSU would stomp all over Utah but it would definately be an exciting game. Be careful about playing texas you might find yourself down 30 by half. Nothing against Utah but Texas is for real.

:):):):):):)

Utah would lose big to Boise state. Johnson played the perfect game against the Y. He won't do it again.

Big Team

Give us a big team to beat. It will show once and for all we are legit.

RE "Beat a Ranked BCS team"

What are you talking about? Wins against TCU (still ranked and BCS eligible), and BYU (still ranked)count for something. Oregon State is still ranked. Michigan was ranked when the Utes played them.

BSU beat the utes on a down year. BSU beat a wounded Oregon team without a quarterback by a few points. Join a real conference and play some real teams. Then we can talk.

The Utes have heart. They are for real!

Boise not great

Boise folks please don't comment. You'd lose to Utah or BYU or TCU. Just hope you don't draw any of those teams.

Boise St.

I'm a BYU fan and I would love to see Utah play Boise St. Utah would put a serious beat down on Boise St. and send the overrated donkeys back to Idaho with their tails between their legs. Boise St. would be a fourth place team in the MWC this year. Hopefully if Boise doesn't make the BCS they will play TCU and get a beat down by the second place team in the MWC.
