Sloan said "John Stockton never through an alley-oop pass in his career" but he's simply wrong. Stock through a few to Malone, believe it or not. And he threw more than a few to Blue Edwards. The fact of the matter is, Stockton made the best possible pass, no matter what kind of pass it was, and he simply didn't have the high-flyers like Miles and Brewer that Williams now has at his disposal. I'm a big Sloan guy, but to discredit the alley-oop pass because it's flashy is a mistake. Sometimes it's the best possible pass (see Chris Paul and Tyson Chandler).

Jerry is a blue collar coach, his players are a different story. Being at the game, you could see the oop coming, and the place exploded, and got all the players in to it. While it might be flashy, it does get some adrenaline pumping. I love to watch Sloan coach though, if you aren't gonna work you aren't gonna play. Can anyone imagine what Sloan would do to Marbury? Paul Millsap might is my favorite Jazz player to watch, and I think he typifies what Sloan wants in a player. He might be undersized, but the dude is a beast on the boards, and he has great hands. That 2rd quarter was nuts though.

As I recall Rodman was about as tall as Millsap.

CJ is starting to put fans in the seats and that will over ride Sloan's distaste for fancy.

The Jazz have the same bad habit as LA. They basically play down to the level of competition and then turn up the defense in the 3rd or 4th Q. Dallas was beating LA for 3 Q and then they turned it on. That may work on weak teams but it does not work on really good teams.

However, the Jazz are getting a lot of production out of depleted damaged line ups. That should give them a lot of confidence.

I wish they would get thier act together on the road. If DWill and Knight are running the point and if just one of the Bigs would get killer instinct the Jazz would turn into a good road team.

Yeah, Rodman was even shorter than Millsap, although he (Rodman) never led the NCAA in rebounding three straight years, nor was he even HALF the offensive player that Millsap is. We struck gold.

And I'd be happy to pick up any habits the Lakers have. They're 13-1!

Seriously though, you're right. We need to shore things up on the road and be more consistent, but it's pretty heartening that with all the injuries we've had, we're still right up there in the standings.

I see some huge basketball chemistry going on between Mehmut Okur, Paul Milsap, C.J. Miles, Ronnie Brewer, and Deron Williams. I like it.

How can you say that Blue Edwards and David Benoit were not the fliers that Brewer and Miles are? Are you kidding me? The difference is that CJ and Brewer can actually catch the ball and then dunk it, while Blue and Benoit had a tough enough time just catching it!

I also like the chemistry these guys are building.

I am seriously impressed with the way Okur has been playing. He has been at All-Star level ever since he cam back form Turkey. Millsap continues to impress.

Is it bad of me to hope that Boozer stays out another week or two so we can see what this group can do against some quality competition. Almost like a "how good are we without Boozer" test run.

OK, I'll start it. Dump Boozer and AK's contract so we can make a run at Amare or Bosh in 2010!!!!!!!!!

Can you imagine adding Amare to our young group of Athletes?

If we picked up Amare and we dropped AK we'd be the Suns of 2007 before they aquired Shaq-fun to watch, high scoring, and lose a lot of games because you don't have a strong D.

I agree though that would be awesome! Who cares if you win with an avg ppg of 115+ lol

We need AK, he is one of the best defenders in the league and he can guard the 2 all the way to 4/5-not to mention his increasing shooting ability, passing, steals, etc.

A good high school team can beat the Kings. I hope they stay this way. The greatest joy in my life will be seeing the Kings leave Sacramento. The NBA yuk!

Sloan would NEVER allow the Jazz to play like the Suns of 2007. If we picked up Amare he would replace Boozer as the big 'Malone type' power forward in Sloan's set. He would get the ball at the Elbow or in the post and do the same things as Boozer, just a little faster. He might actually be able to move his feet more than 6 inches on defense (unlike Booz). I think it would be a great pickup.
