Amazing story and to think that the medical profession advises people to abort fetuses that are Down Syndrome - unbelievable.
It sounds like a home, a neighborhood, a ward, a community has lost a great person. What a blessing these people had to be able to walk side by side with such a special person. I know that when I am somewhere and a Downs person is nearby, I feel such a joyful feeling, they are truly great people.
I have, in the past been able to enjoy friendships or associations with some people who have had intellectual disabilities, these people have had a lasting impact in my life. Sometimes we see what person doesn't have and don't realize how many things they do have.
I do not doubt for a moment that this young man is now running races that his loved ones would marvel at.
I was honored to know Jeff. He affected my life and the life om my family and my daughters absolutely loved him. I don't know who enjoyed the big hugs that were shared between them more. He was and is such a special person. I will never forget him. Jeff we will miss you and we will see you again someday!
