It's still not enough to get me downtown. The parking enforcement system in SLC is a very poorly veiled revenue stream.
There's only 2 hours of free parking downtown? What a crock! Can't Salt Lake Mayor Ralph Becker and the Salt Lake City Council let people park as long as they want?
Ultimately, somewhere along the way, someone has to pay for all the free parking downtown with somebody getting a ticket for being in spot for too long, lol!
That said, the parking meters should be done away with once and for all. Not only am I fed up with with getting a ticket but so is everyone else who lives downtown.
why do you think downtown Salt Lake is suffering and has such a big, huge imaage problem? As near as I can tell the suburbs are the way to go, with free parking as far as the eye can see.
