Congratulations to all involved in this amazing story. How blessed we are to live at this time, when there is so much that can be done to preserve the lives of mom and baby through their ordeal. And what a cute baby! My daughter has an implanted defibrillator/pacemaker. She's through having children, but she has 3 girls to raise, so I'm grateful for the technology that keeps her going. I have seen so many amazing advances in my lifetime, and I'm only 61. (Yes, "only". It used to sound old, but doesn't seem so old once you get there!) My son is in pre-med at BYU, not sure yet which specialty he wants to pursue. Doctors devote so many years preparing to become a doctor, and then many years improving and perfecting their skills. Thanks to all of you who dedicate your lives to helping others. And congratulations to Alisa and her family. Happy Thanksgiving!
Isn't it wonderful...the power of prayer, faith and knowledgeable doctors who care. So happy for Mother and baby and pray her body will adjust to the trauma and will gain strength every day.
Very good that the family was permitted to make these medical decisions without government interference. Pregancy can be very dangerous to a mother's health and families should be permitted to decide on appropriate medical treatment without the interference of their legislators.
Miracle upon miracle! Congrats to the Barnard family and the amazing medical teams! That is why you pay the big bucks to the doctors. Phenomenal!
This is a timely article. I am so happy for the family that the almighty has seen fit that the mother remain in her critical role as a mother to nurture this precious little ones.
A miracle to keep firmly in mind. This young woman was spared...whether due to Heavenly intervention, or to modern medicine...or the combination of both.
Three boys and one girl. A good even number for a family of offspring. I hope that she and her husband take time to consider this...and make the decision to be content with four children...and a living mother.
