I salute the Gibsons. How cool they would use their money for such worthwhile efforts.

I have recently read about Becky Douglas of Atlanta and her Rising Star Outreach in India, Kathy Headlee from Utah and her Mothers Without Borders in Zambia, and the Packards from Arizona and their Care For Life in Mozambique. All such AMAZING PEOPLE AND AMAZING STORIES. They have turned their money into the most wonderful good.

I met the Gibsons while they were teaching entrepreneurship at BYU-Hawaii last year as volunteers. They are everything that the reporter said and even more so. They enlighten all the people they come in contact with, no matter how rich or poor they may be. I certainly would like to emulate just a part of what they are doing. Mahalo Gibsons!

Lee Benson has been one of my favorite writers for the Deseret News. I have been reading his articles since 1987 when he was writing sports.

Sometimes an article is poorly written, and you have to read it twice. Benson's articles are always well-written, interesting, and engaging. If it were not for Benson I would subscribe to the Trib. Can I say "Trib" on here?

I also enjoyed this article - it is nice to have some good news amoung all the bad that you hear. I think that these people and people like them will be able to stand infront of their Savior on judgement day and not be afraid. They are indeed spending their wealth to help others when so many are just busy hording it for themselves. Thank you for this article. If I were rich I would hope that I would be just like them.

I think this is so great! Everyone always says that if they were rich they would do this too.... I say that you don't have to be rich to help. We can all give of our time and our material means to help others no matter what our financial circumstances are. We may not be able to start a school in a foreign country, but the Lord will see the good desires of our hearts and bless us for what we do give. Remember the story of the widow's mite.

The Gibson's are the best. Many people claim they want to get rich so that they can turn around and help others, serve in the Church, etc... The Gibsons are a shining example to me and so many others. Thank you Steve and Bette.

Having served in the Philippines, I can say what a wonderful program this is. Someone posted earlier that it would be hard to get wealthy right now. Wealth is not the goal for these people, being able to support themselves is. In the Philippines you need at least an Associates degree to work at McDonalds... and they won't even hire regualr staff as permanent. It's very difficult to get a job, especially a permanent job as a lot of the jobs are contractual lasting 6 months at a time. Giving the people the know-how to start their own business is amazing. Way to go!!!

I know a lot of people who benefitted from this program in the Philippines, actually, one of them is my sister. They have done a good job. People in the Philippines don't need to get rich, they needed to feel confident that life has more to offer them, and that whats make the biggest different. Thanks so much for those whose love changes lives in my country. Its a beginning of a new day for my country, one life at a time.
