you should make note of the fact that there were people who cheered out loud his shooting in high school classes in this state

It was a most enjoyable task to scan these photos. When I was 11 President Kennedy was killed in Dallas. Now in my mid 50's it has become a line by which I measure things by. When I took the rubber bands from around the negs. and then had to cut them into strips, I knew that most if not all of these photos had not been seen in 45 to 50 years. Seeing the faces of adults and children, knowing that the kids are now of my own age, this might give them a chance to see photos of themselves or at least the places where they were. I hope all enjoy these photos. It is a true slice of history.

I can't find this gallery....I was on State Street when President Kennedy drove down & he waved to me & my siblings. What a memory! But I can't find the photos.

Very enjoyable photo gallery on JFK's visit. I was just a wee baby when these pics were taken.

My first memory was when I was three ... sitting in our living room becoming aware of a horse-drawn casket ... draped with the American flag. The assassination and funeral of JFK must have been much much more than just a passing impression for this to be my first memory.

Question: I was told that up to a certain point, the political party of preference for most Utah Mormons was Democrat ... WHEN and WHY did this major switch take place? Was it due to the political preference of a certain President/Prophet??

Does anyone out there care to share the historical background for this major swing??

Is there anywhere that these pictures can be seen in their entirety (not just the few being published this week)?
I was in junior high school in Salt Lake City when Kennedy was killed, and there was certainly no cheering going on. Everyone was in tears. I believe we were finally dismissed to go home early, because no one could function.
