Max handed the game to the UTES. With that said, Vakapuna and Unga were averaging 7.1 yds per carry, why bother throwing when you are running it down the throat of the Defense?

Utah's defense all season has been to stop the run... this game it was stop the pass... get in the passing lane... 5 or more batted down passes... 3 of the 5 ints were awesome plays...Kruger totally read the play and so did smith to jump those routes and get the int... and #17's int was pure athleticism... oh and the fumble great play by the defender knocking the ball out... and what about the dropped int's especially smith's in the endzone which would have kept 7 points off the board... give utahs d some credit the deserve it.

As a Ute fan I have wondered why byu doesn't run more, with that o-line and great backs like unga... but the arrogance of the coaches to think they can do what they always do and no one can stop them is what contributed more then anything to your loss...

to the cougar fans who have given the utes some credit thank you... I, like you, try to watch my team without my red colored glasses and try to be objective... I don't think utah was going to let this game get away from them no matter what... bj was awesome...

So . . . .Coach Mendenhall thinks the turnovers were the difference in the game. Ya think! They're almost always the difference in the game. BYU ran up against the best defense they've seen all season and the only thing they can come up with is that they "made too many mistakes". Oh, I can hear it now. "Utah didn't beat us we beat ourselves, so we should be conference champions because the only ones that can beat us is ourselves".

So, the Utes catch Hall on a down night and BYU hands them a W. The Utes can only pull off a win just once in the past 3 BYU meetings and everyone thinks they are a team.

BYU is the way better team, and next year watch for a trouncing of the Utes.
