i want to say that a win is a win no matter how you look at it yet it IS a win against a cellar dwellar (i.e. clippers, bobcats, thunder, etc). until they prove they can handle and take control of a few other teams ON THE ROAD, then some will actually be convinced. until then jerry sloan figures that since his plays have been effective for over 20 yrs now that they work just fine and 'can't win every game' yet there has never been a championship banner in the utah jazz home floor (someday i guess). i wonder if team owner is just satisfied with winning regular season and not playoffs.

COACH SLOAN GETS PAID MILLIONS TO COACH HE NEEDS TO DO WHAT HE HAS TO TO MOTIVATE THE PLAYERS AND WIN.ALL WE EVER HEAR IS THAT THE PLAYERS GET PAID MILLIONS TO PLAY BASKETBALL.I AGREE ABOUT THAT BUT IT IS A TWO WAY STREET.AFTER ALL COACHES GET PAID MILLIONS TO COACH.EVERY ONE IN LIFE LIKES TO FEEL EXCITEMENT IN OUR EMPLOYMENT IN OUR LIFES.ITS WHAT DRIVES US TO DO BETTER. GOOD LUCK JAZZ AND COACH SLOAN KEEP IT UP.

Fact of the matter is, we have no big man again that can take care defensively of a Gasol or BYNUM. Therefore we lose again in the western conference final to L.A. THAT IS IF WE GET THIER. tHE jAZZ JUST DON'T GET IT. Okur is a forward not a center he is to slow!

good game, if the jazz stay aggressive and continue to hit shots, a team like memphis will fold; although the jazz let up in the final three minutes, it didn't bother me because the jazz had already won the game. Against good teams, too, they'll win by playing this way. The problem is, the jazz jump on a team, every game this year, they've had a lead of ten points, they've shown that if they play with it on, they'll win; I don't know. The jazz kept it on last night, more games like that, go jazz. I've noticed that if one player lets up, it affects the whole team. One minute the jazz are up, then they're down, and then they have to fight back, but it's tough when you let a team get on top, the jazz have fought back, but it's been tough. If the jazz get on top, they can't let up. In that way, they got to bully a team, and keep fighting. At least until the game is decided, like last night.
Sloan and defense | 2:19 p.m. Nov. 23, 2008
Sloan was unhappy again with the defense - what else is new? When will the Jazz admit that offense wins as much as defense. There are too many times when players seem afraid to shoot. Look at the scores around the NBA. Should we really be surprised and disappointed when the other team scores?

Might I suggest that you read your comments before posting them to the board. Also, you might want to cut back on the commas.

I am hoping that the Jazz will go on a real tear after D-will and Boozer come back. If they can keep a good record without them and go on a streak after they get back rested then maybe this may all work out for the best.

Kinda sad that people are excited that we beat Memphis. Aren't they the worst team in basketball? Beating Memphis should be a normal thing for a good team on the road. When we beat the Lakers, Boston, New Orleans, etc on the road, then I will be excited.

Memo slow? I disagree. He may not be Kevin Garnett, but he definitely is not slow. Ostertag was slow. I have seen Memo, many times, with his back to the basket on the baseline go around his man for an easy basket. Slow players don't do that. Memo has excellent footwork and deceptive quickness for a man of his size. Go Memo!!!
Selfish Almond | 7:22 p.m. Nov. 23, 2008
I saw several fast breaks where almond had a player on the wing and took it in himself, he has this notion that if he fill the stat sheet with points he will get more playing time. Pass the ball, help your teamates be successful, play some hard nosed defense then you will get playing time. Or maybe he is just padding the stat sheet to facilitate a trade.
I like Memo | 9:16 p.m. Nov. 23, 2008
but he is very slow.

I have said it and I will say it again, when the guy's get back to full strenth, theyer going to rip these league apart. I feel it in my bones, and I have been housing these bones for 82 years. yes that how old i am. I would come to utah to see the guy's play but I can't afford it. I love the team and I stand by them win or loose!. the Blazers are our state team, but I was with the Jazz long before they came to utah. go team go!

well for everyone saying we don't win on the road injeries anyone??
and we happened to beat last years championship team boston CELTICS by double digits
and we need to get healthy so calm down

and this isn't a sinking ship its a ship that needs to be patched up then it can sail the seven seas aka a championship for the jazz

Another good win.

I hate to say it but the Lakers and Celtics are looking rediculous right now. I still think the Jazz could win 60 games, but with the way the Lakers are playing right now they could win 70.

After the Lakers and Celtics I think there is a group of 5 or 6 teams that are great teams but just not as great as those two, I think the healthy Jazz fall into that category with Cleveland, Houston, New Orleans, and a healthy Spurs.

After that group I think there is another group of teams taht are kind of question marks, they could be in the second group, or they could just continue to be inconsistent. These teams include Denver, Atlanta, Portland, Detroit, Orlando, Toronto, Phoenix, and maybe Miami (never underestimate Dwayne Wade).

All in all I think the Jazz are going to continue to get it done this year, and I will continue to enjoy it. I just hope they can find somehting a littel extra as the season goes on, they are going to need it.

Lakers and Celtics do look good, but I think the Jazz would be right up there record-wise if not for the injuries. A healthy Deron and we probably win 2-3 more games. Take away Kobe or one of Boston's big-3 and they'd have a couple more losses.

Yes, matchups will be a problem with the Lakers in the playoffs (provided they meet). But the playoff games were fairly close last season despite Memo, Boozer and Korver all struggling.

We have a deeper bench this time. Knight will make a huge difference with the subs.

Starters
Memo vs. Pau - even
Boozer vs. Bynum - even statistically
Deron vs. Fisher - huge advantage Utah
Brewer vs. Kobe - huge advantage LA
CJ vs. Radmanovic - even

Bench
Millsap vs. Odom - offensive adv to LAL, defensive adv to Utah
AK vs. Ariza - advantage Utah
Knight vs. Farmar - advantage Utah
Vujacic vs. Korver - even

On paper, the Lakers and Jazz have similar talent levels. The key will be Utah's effort level on defense. And can we get fairly-called games by the refs? We've seen Kobe get all kinds of phantom calls go his way.
LA | 3:05 p.m. Nov. 24, 2008
LA tends to make the Jazz offense struggle. It is thier inside defense. If we had enough fire power from the 3 line we could break LA.

Further, we have no answer for Koby's offense at the end of the game. The Jazz also need more rebounding.

If Koufos had 3 years of experience and Brewer or CJ could guard Koby we might have a chance.

We need more 3 point plays, a better defender/rebounder in the paint and better overall defense.
