Where's the reflexive talk about the glories to be achieved next year?
uugo | 7:55 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Great game Utes, BCS baby. I wish the Ute fans would learn that beating teams ranked lower is not worthy of rushing the field, and trying to pick fights with the opposing players. Bring on Texas, Texas Tech, Alabama!!!!!
AZ Blue but still some Red | 7:55 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Would have loved to see the cougars win but the best team won today. See you next year.

Congrats to the Utes and good luck in the bowl game

Congrats to Utes on the win...Hall cost us this game. Utah's defense proved the winner. If you'd told me that BYU would rush for this many yards and pass for this many yards, I'd thought they'd won.... but those picks! OUCH! Congrats to Utah. Looks like I'm going to have to become fan of the second best team in the SEC or BIG 12.

Congratulations Utah. It sucks to lose, but at least we lost to someone who will represent the MWC well in the BCS. Good game. You earned it.
see you in Provo in 09 | 7:56 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Hall, Collie, Unga, Tonga, Pita etc... all return for 09 and with the FRESH memory of bush league Whitingham running up the score in the last 2 minutes. The table is set big time. Oh and remember low budget Ute fans, this is your first championship in 3 years!
Tomorrow Both Coaches... | 7:57 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Will think about the fireside they will give after the new year about their respective seasons.

Bronco will be able to work on starting tomorrow.

And Kyle will have to wait until after we win another BCS game in January.
Re: SoCalFan | 7:58 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Man, I feel your pain. It's rather unfortunate. The radio voices seem to think it's "just part of the business of things" and I realize they have seen this kind of thing in their time--especially because they are on the money making side of things. It's too bad some of us are forced to listen on the radio. We'll see replays and hopefully complete coverage eventually. In the end, though, oh man. The Utes' defense. And for that matter.. the Utes OFFENSE. In the end, though, you have to believe it was the Utes' defense and BJ/The Utes offense altogether. As the game went on the special teams went the Utes' way as well. Way to go Utes. Proud. Nice. Alright. Good night :)
kitty litter | 7:59 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Remember to bring that hundred to Vegas Zoobies so that you cannot break it. GO UTES BCS BUSTERS AGAIN!!!!
ha ha | 7:59 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Rise and shout the kittens are out! Out of the running for MWC trophy...

War kittens winning 2 out of the last seven years-irritating

War kittens thinking they're going to have any chance against the U this year- amusing

War kittens getting silenced 48-24... PRICELESS!
All-World Austin Collie | 7:59 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Had another 100-yard game. But still has yet to score on Utah.
To all the good sports | 7:59 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
on both sides, thanks for a good game and for cheering on your team in this great rivalry.

For all you poor sports, red and blue, GROW UP!
The team showed they were class, but you fans are just trash!
Ute Alum | 7:59 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Hey Doug? What is that comment about Max Hall? How many interceptions did that boy toss and a un sportsman like conduct penalty to boot? What a find guy he is Dougie? You guys are going to the Fruit Cake Bowl!
Got what you wanted | 8:02 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Be careful what you wish for... I GUARANTEE you aint gonna get PITT this time around. Gonna be real entertaining to see this years version Hawaii in the BCS.
Humble Pie | 8:02 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Back at: Congratulations Utah
Wow! I am quite amazed to see some Y fans actually being somewhat gracious after this beating. What is even more amazing is that after the game you think everyone should show more sportsmanship but before the game, the Y fan can continue to be a jerK! Hipocracy once again. A true sportsman is a sportsman before the game, during the game, and after the game. This one reasonwhy people hate the Y fam. They make it so easy.
MVP | 8:03 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
And Utah's MVP - MAX HALL!

See you next year in Provo.
Marc Lyons Cracks Me UP | 8:03 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
It was sooooo funny listening to Marc Lyons talk about how he perceived Utah was running up the score.

Uh, hello Marc and the rest of you bitter Cougar Honks, let's sit down for a little history lesson:

1991 - BYU 48, Utah 17
1989 - BYU 70 (that's right 70), Utah 31
1983 - BYU 55, Utah 7
1981 - BYU 56, Utah 28
1980 - BYU 56, Utah 6

Wear it and like it Cougars. What comes around goes around. It's just too bad UTEP isn't still in the league. Oh wait, the last time UTEP beat BYU, the BYU coaches accused UTEP of bugging the headsets.

re: BYU dis-owns Whitingham | 7:32 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008

>>You needlessly run up the score against your rival and you earn the label of bush league coach.<<

Maybe he learned it from Lavell??

Seriously, BCS style points. Wait. BCS is unknown entity to Breed 'em young
SoCalUteFan | 8:03 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Calling someone who gives their all and is personally responsible for his team losing the biggest game a "joke" is a show of awful sportsmanship. I assume and hope your poor sportsmanship is not reflective of other Ute fans. Coug players, may your quest for perfection continue, because that's what this life is all about, not football which is what Bronco said from the beginning.
Drop the smack! | 8:03 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
I bet you mothers are really proud of you guys. Byu lost, admit it and get on with it. Utah won, be proud of you team, but be good sports!
Congrats Utah on the championship.

I hope all the teams from the MWC win their bowl games!
RE see you in Provo in 09 | 8:04 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Well we low budget will remember that. Heres something for you to remember, Utes are going to the BCS and have won 5 of the last 7 U/Y matchups. But way to go on the whole 0 BCS and 2 out of 7 U/Y thing. The quest for imperfection continues...
National Champions? | 8:04 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
National Titles

BYU - 1

Utah - 0

Heisman trophy winners

BYU - 1

Utah - 0
Harline is still open! | 8:04 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Oh wait, that guy is wearing red....
Hall gave the game away | 8:05 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
What the ...?!?!?! Down by three at the end of the of the 3rd and then Hal decided to hand he game to the Yewts. What a pathetic way to lose.

Congrats to the yewts, but they have Hall to thank for giving them the game.
Hugh G. Hater | 8:05 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
I think I will hate on Rober Anai instead of Sloan for a while.
Hey Cougar fans! | 8:06 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Kruger's open down the middle again! Ha ha ha ha. Max Hall doesn't play very well at defensive back...or quarterback...
LOL | 8:07 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW
Whit | 8:07 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Any talk of Whit leaving from the some of the open coaching jobs in NCAA?

Washington and Tennessee need a classless coach that runs up the score.
predictable | 8:08 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
is what hall has been all year, predictable, sounds like a jingle to me. career over after high school
KWest for perfection | 8:08 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Starts with K. W. as in Kyle Whittingham.
Mr. Obvious | 8:09 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
The Quest for Perfection! It is rather admirable that the Y adopts a theme to support the U's record 12-0!
Game Ball & MVP | 8:09 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Regardless of who was named the MVP of the game for Utah, it was Max Hall. His six turnovers gave the yewts the victory. BYU was dominating and moving the ball until Hall gave Utah the victory by turning the ball over. It was a gift, you can't turn the ball over that many times, with penalties on top of that and win. There was not 24 points difference in the two teams.
RE: Got what you wanted | 8:09 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
"Be careful what you wish for... I GUARANTEE you aint gonna get PITT this time around. Gonna be real entertaining to see this years version Hawaii in the BCS."

LOL!!! Just curious did you GURANTEE a Y win today as well? Good luck in the Vegas please don't lose to a weak PAC-10.

I agree if its FL my Utes and maybe even OK then we are in trouble but I think we can play against anyone else. In fact I think our 11th ranked will be okay its how Ludwig will call the game.

GO UTES!!! BCS II
Sad day for football | 8:09 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Too many BYU fans are whining about the loss and how it was Max's fault or Bronco's fault. We all talked trash before the game but it is over and sad as we may be, they are still our team.

Too many Utah fans that cannot have the same grace their team and coaches do to shake hands and congratulate each other on a good game.

The best team won, but Utah fans, try to find some class and add comments about winning the game and stop writing about BYU losing... You are just making your team look like trash.
Re: Humble Pie | 8:09 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Your comment is hypocrisy at its best - no fans are as classless as the yewt fans. They're classless before, during and after the game. No surprise - they're coach is just as classless as they are.

Classless fans, classless coach, classless school.
Canadian cougar | 8:10 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
My sincere congratulations on a great victory, Utah. I wish you the very best in the BCS. I will be cheering from up north in Canada, it doesn't matter who the opposing team may be. Despite all the turnovers and a horrendous fourth quarter, BYU is a good team and we'll be back in 2009. Max Hall does not deserve to be thrown under the bus for a bad game, so I won't. I hope we can turn it arond enough to be competitive in Las Vegas or San Diego, whever we go.
All the best to the Utes and their fans.
BCS | 8:10 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Who cares how many BCS bids anyone gets. I wish there was no BCS to give bids. If the BCS existed before, Utah would still be trailing BYU 5-2 in bids. The whole system stinks because at the end of the day Utah will have another 4-5 ranking at best. As a BYU fan...been there acouple of times and done that. I know Ute fans mock us for reliving the NATIONAL TITLE in 1984, but when we are all 90 and thinking back, which will matter more. a couple of top 5 finishes or having a trophy in your case that says National Champion. In 30 years all this will be a footnote.
Here comes PITT | 8:11 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
hahaha, EXPOSURE is just around the corner. Cougs, we are gonna get the opportunity we didn't in 2004, to see the high and mighty yewts knocked on their backside in their finest hour. I for 1 am glad- now we can always reference 2008 as the year we found out the yewts are frauds! Go cougs. Cant wait for the new year.

Eastcoastcougrrrrr
And Utah has... | 8:11 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
PERFECTION!!!!!!
Where Was Max? | 8:11 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
The guy played like a drunkard. He was putting the ball right into the yewts' arms.

I guess the Cougs can look at the bright side--the program will get more money with their arch nemesis breaking into the BCS again. And they can play in some pee-wee bowl somewhere against a mediocre Pac-10 team.

One thing's for sure--I don't want to hear Bronco say a thing about execution, unless he says the yewts executed his team. The yewts took their game to a higher level. Max Hall couldn't tie his shoes or wipe his...nose...today. He wasn't fully invested.

The rest of the Y's offense, especially Collie, came ready to play.

Benedict Hall wasn't. Believe me, the guy's a redcoat. The yewts' MVP of the game.
BYU has still | 8:11 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
won 2 of 3
FYI to Y Fans... | 8:12 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
"first championship in 3 years!"

Hey Y fans at the U we don't count MWC championships its about the BCS: 2 in four years!!

Its not about Vegas its about SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!
crowtonlover | 8:12 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008

TTEBBS | 8:12 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Any word on the injuries BYU suffered to Unga and Reed?
Harline is still open. | 8:13 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Hall was trying to throw to him. Problem is, he's busy pumping my gas.
Give it up, Coogs | 8:13 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008

PITT in the house | 8:13 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Lets go PITT!
sj | 8:13 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
I'm a cougar fan but I'm glad Utah won because they had the most to gain. Congrats. The only thing I can say about the Y is speed kills and once you get past the y's front four it is really slow. Hope we can get some speed and athletisim there next year. Good luck U good luck Y. Great year for both teams.
Judas | 8:14 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Isn't it amazing how some many Y fans are turning on Max Hall and prior to the game he was the hero. Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?
Frank Lee | 8:14 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
This is the best part of the Utes being victorious.

Listening to all the zoobs howl, whine, spin, gnash teeth, spew venom, live in denial, etc...
