here they go again and they're not even 10 games in to the season. i guess
when mt. duncan retires then they can try and get a road win in san antonio.

I am no expert but it seems to be that when you are paying these guys millions
of dollars every year that the least you can expect of them is to come into
training camp or whatever you call it in basketball and start the season IN
SHAPE. It would seem to me that if they were in shape all these injuries would
not be happening. It does not happen to other teams like it seems to happen to
the Jazz. Maybe it is just an excuse.

It has become a true and tested way the coaches of other teams used over the
years to beat Jazz with 3-pointers. After being buried by a slurry of
3-pointers, Jazz players are never dare to counter with 3-pointers because they
are scare of being yanked out of the game for not executing. And in a short
while, coach Sloan would give up and put in all the subs and they are still not
allow to fire the threes but use the opportunity to learn to the execution.
It's sick! Why not counter with 3s and you might have a chance to get back
in the game?

Sloan needs to look up the word "trey" in the dictionary. Apparently,
he doesn't know what it means. Defeat, in the case of the Jazz at the
Spurs' place.
The Jazz didn't bother defending the trey, nor did they attempt to take any. Sloan's attitude that the paint is more important to defend was the Jazz' undoing. Along with not having anyone capable of hitting treys consistently.
Doesn't Sloan remember that Horny's place on the team was because he could shoot treys? That almost got the team a title, but their opponents' abilities to hit more treys were the Jazz's undoing then, too.
It says something about an organization that can come up with people who can consistently shoot treys, like San Antonio, versus a team that's lucky to have just one of those players, like the Jazz. As good a job as the Jazz have done in recent years in picking up good players in the draft, San Antonio has done better by picking up quick players who can shoot the trey.

After watching what kind of talent the Spurs have this year, I see them taking
the West (if their key players aren't injured the last half of the year),
in spite of how LA is doing now. I don't think with Duncan, Genobli, and
their many trey artists, any team in the West will stop them. And I don't
see any team in the East matching them.
Too bad BYU's head coach isn't the Jazz head coach. At least HE understands the value in recruiting and using trey artists.

The loss to SA is a clear indication of the problems with the Sloan coaching
philosophy. Greg Miller needs to instruct Sloan to put in 3 point plays now.
SA has built a machine around the PF position and 3 point shooting. Utah has built around the PF and dispises 3 point shooting. How many rings does Utah have?
Danny Ainge learned to shoot the 3. The Jazz can do likewise. We have to have more than just Korver who is streaky shooting the 3. 3 no names lit up the Jazz. They did not cost much. The Jazz can get those type of players. Almond can shoot.
The problem is Sloan. The game has changed and he has not adapted. I think that Jerry is a very good coach but he needs to be more flexible and adapt.

The Jazz are hopeless. They are truly a 'D' league team. Seriously,
when you look at the Jazz roster, it is just mindboggling, that anyone could
with a straight face say that they are a serious contender for any king of a
championship. And I don't mean division, or conference....I mean
CHAMPIONSHIP. All of the players are strictly role players. The starting
lineup cannot compete...listen to Jerry Sloan in postgame interviews with the
press. They absolutely do not play defense...if that is even possible in the
NBA. Rookies on teams like the Wizards, Bobcats, and Spurs...and old retreads
like Bowen have their way with the inept Jazz last night. All the Jazz are is
entertainment....nothing more.
Larry Millers' empire is drying up with the current economic meltdown. Just because a team has players like Boozer and Williams, who, when healthy have decent statistics mean nothing. Neither of these players, including Kirilenko and Okus could break into the lineup a a serious contending franchise

The Jazz have the talent. Williams is going to be an All-Star several times over, and he's already a gold-medalist Olympian. Boozer is an All-Star and an Olympic gold-medalist. Okur is an All-Star and an Olympian. Kirilenko is an All-Star, an Olympian, and a European Championship winner and MVP. Brewer gets better and better each month, and Millsap is the MAN, not to mention the only player in college ball history to lead the NCAA in rebounds three years in a row. Price and Knight have been solid.

same ol same ol defend the paint give up 3's all day. That might be good at
the start of a game but what about when a team is hitting 3's all day do
you change your thinking. No not the jazz keep playing the same way and keep
getting your ass kicked. I turned the TV off after the 3rd quarter when has the
Jazz on the road come back from even 12 points down to win a game in the 4th. No
guts no guts none at all.I know I know Jazz are hurt well so are the spurs. I
will say that the Lakers will not lose by over 20 points this year.Champion
mentality Jazz don't have it.

Its the three pointers that are killing this team. For some reason the Jazz have
not been making them and let the other team run away with all the three
pointers. I am telling you as much as I scream at the TV every time a contender
throws up a three it doesnt help.. Forcing the other team into the paint and
then actually defending is the way it needs to be done.. force a layup or force
them to take stupid shots!

Didn't get to watch the game last night but in my gut I had the same
sinking feeling we couldn't get it done. I don't have a finger on it
yet but here we are again 2-5 on the road. Look who we have lost to. Uh-oh. I
say this every year. Our road record shows up to haunt us in the end. I can
live with last nights loss but not the others. We should at least be 4-3 on the
road. I will say again. Every championship team has been able to do two
consistent things. Win on the road and play good defense. We haven't done
either in the past few years. It sure looks like another one of those years.
Right now I am not very enthused about this year. If we can get to 10-8 on the
road I admit I will be very happy. I just don't see it by looking at the
schedule.

Jazz are one of two teams in the west with a losing record. The other team is
Portland and they are only one game below .500 campared to the Jazz who are
2-5.

If sloan is such great coach why do players you never heard of on the other team
continue to have career games against the jazz.
The list is endless of guards on opposing teams having big games or career games against the jazz.
For goodness sake parker and manu didn't even play and they still killed us from the outside.

The reason teams shut down the middle is because of percentages. You want teams
shooting shots that are made at a 60 percent clip, or a 30 percent clip?

Where was the Utah defense against the Spurs? Did they chase anyone off the 3
point line? Did all five Utah players focus on Duncan and leave the rest to make
baskets? Looks that way. Jazz are never gonna be a #1 team in the NBA until they
play defense the proper way and stick with their man.

While I agree that Sloan needs to change his stance on the 3 point shot, I think
some of you guys are giving the spurs players too much credit. They had
'one of those nights' from behind the 3 point line. Sure, the Jazz
did a lousy job guarding against the 3, but when a team is having a night like
that, it seems like even well-contested shots seem to drop. It would make sense
that the Jazz don't defend against the 3 point shot very well, because
Sloan doesn't like the 3 ball, period. The Jazz have players that can hit
it, but they aren't given much chance... Sloan's 3 point rule of
'take 'em, just make 'em' doesn't exactly inspire
confidence in anyone. Korver was shooting the ball really well through
pre-season, and up until he sprained his wrist. He has struggled some since,
obviously the wrist wasn't 100%, and now it sounds like the injury is
worse... hopefully he can get it healed up. Doesn't matter though, if Sloan
continues his stubborn anti-3 attitude. No shooter can be successful if not
allowed consistent shots.
