Big crowd expected at Sandy gun show

Either that, or maybe paranoia makes for really bad economic choices.
The gun nuts claim an armed society is a peaceful society and yet all we've earned is the right to claim the most gun homicides in the world.
If having huge numbers of guns on the street has not brought peace - how will more guns do it?
Instead, it's reached the point where the reason people need to have guns is because there's too many guns out there to worry about. That's called irony.
Further, studies have shown that where there are fewer restrictions on LAW-ABIDING citizens owning guns, there is less crime. Criminals, of course, simply ignore all the gun laws, just the the ones about murder, robbery, drug dealing, etc.
Finally, the courts have repeatedly held that the police have NO DUTY to defend anyone as an individual, and can only be expected to show up after a crime has been committed. You are free to show criminals your "I voted for Obama" sign, but many prefer the option of being able to use lethel force to defend themselves if they are legally justified in doing so.
Make your own choice about gun ownership for yourself, but the Utah Constitution and the U.S. Constitution guarantee MY right to keep and bear arms for lawful self defense.
"Obama will take away your guns"
Besides being a total fallacy, it's preying upon the parts of society that are likely most affected by the current economic downtown.
There's ALWAYS more money to buy guns. Just hope people aren't putting them on their overburdened credit cards, taking out payday loans (enriching the Republican chairman) or ignoring other family-important expenses.
Why can people afford more expensive guns, when they're complaining about their home foreclosures, car loans, and living off payday loans?
The dichotomy here is stunning.
But it's a great advertising campaign by the gun dealers!
Why do you assume the folks buying guns are the same ones "...complaining about home forclosures, car loans and living off payday loans?"
Guess it didn't occur to you that the people buying guns are just possibly hard-working citizens that earn a paycheck, have the right to spend their discretionary income on whatever they chose, and don't sit around complaining...waiting for Big Government, Mr. Obama and his Clintonistas to bail them out.
I've BEEN to the gun show today....and I listened to the talk. Maybe you should have been there, too, listening to the people who've been scared by Rush Limbaugh. My wife heard a man tell his wife that "we'll just declare bankruptcy" as he walked out. We bought a handgun.
I don't know who YOU are listening to, but the people *I* see wanting handouts are the very rich. They got $700 billion with no questions asked.
