Maybe Utahns are all saving up for a new HDTV right before the switch. :P

Wait!

I think that the price of HDTVs will drop after February. I think some people don't understand that they will still be able to watch digital TV even if they don't have a brand new set... Cable and satellite providers have been broadcasting digitally for a long time. I think when the deadline passes and people realize their television sets work just fine, the demand for non-necessary items (like a brand new HDTV) will fall, forcing manufacturers and retailers to lower their prices. What do you think?

Re: Wait

I hope you are right, this market has been WAY over priced for quite some time now.

Change? What's on TV that you can't get here or elsewhere on the net, even before the "readers" at the so-called "News Channels" get their copy? Maybe the Utahns referred to are smarter than their neighbors across the land. Hope so.

Maybe...

Maybe they've decided (as I have) that there's nothing worthwhile on television anyway.

Is that...

the deal my wife is pestering me about? I've been wondering why she is getting very impatient with me lately......LOL!!

Solution

Just put an "R" next to it, and they'll fall all over each other to support it.

Maybe, with the economy and low wages many Utahns can't afford the over priced TV's and maybe others are learning TV is not the most important aspect of life. I'm not willing to put out anymore than I need to to watch the boob tube or repeats and boring "reality" shows.

midwest

first - nearly anything offered on tv is stupid, boring, or trash so why am i in a hurry to spend money for something i really do not want?

garbage

got two of the new digital tv translators. With the government coupons. one of them lasted a month before it broke.
The other one never works. only get half the stations and then it no sound or mixed up picture.
dont know what is behind the whole thing but seems to be government waste to me

TV Free

Got mad at Dish and cancelled thinking we'd get something else. Never did. That was almost 4 years ago. Couldn't be happier than we are without commercial TV. We spend a few bucks here and there on DVDs and watch what we want minus the junk. You too can be free. Try it. You'll REALLY like it.
