The house gym, where he's going to shower, is across the street? Is he going to walk across the street in his bathrobe?

We'll see how long that lasts.

Well, at least he is still sounding like he intends to honor his committment, unlike the guy who is putting back in the Clinton staffers.

Let's give him a chance.
What bathrobe? | 3:51 p.m. Nov. 21, 2008
He won't need a bathrobe, he's a fast runner and plans to shower early in the morning.

So Chaffetz deserves a chance, and Mr Obama does not? Can you state precisely why, WITHOUT using the talk-radio "points"?

The vanity of Jason Chaffetz never ceases to amaze me. Many congressmen share small apartments or rent efficiency studios: Barack Obama lived in $400/month room when Congress was in session. New York Senator Chuck Schumer crashes on in-laws' sofa, but you don't hear them bragging and advertising their frugality. Let's see some legislative results, some active committee work, before we see another Des News fawning article on Jason Chaffetz.

Hmmm. Jason goes to Washington, and before he's even into office national news coverage on his fiscally conservative ways are showcased and he's elected by his peers to one if three leadership positions, notably on policy. Sounds good to me since all the naysayers said he wouldn't get anywhere as a freshman as opposed to the senior cannon. Then the house republican leader praises jason. Time to look at the election results big fella. The voters got it right! Go Jason.

Well, there are 40 US Reps that have a home/office like this. The only thing Jason did different was take his cot via a plane with duct tape.

Jason is smart. He is getting international press, gets one of two offices he wanted, and hopefully gets one of two committees he wants.

Go Jason !

The plane didn't have duct tape. Those dangling modifiers will get you every time.

What about his family. Sounds like they will not be there with him in D.C. His children need to see him every night. What kind of dad can he be if he is not present in the home? What was the campain about? Family values for whom?

To Vanity of Jason: How silly can you get? The only reason this is being talked about is because the press representatives have asked him about it.

Sure, it's great press, but that's okay. He's off to a good start. He's going to have his work cut out for him as a minority in Congress, but he's doing his best. Give him a break. A lot of other members do what he is doing and that's just fine.

Contrary to the 60 Minutes impression left that the Bama lived in a $400 a month room (probably for one or two months at the most), he rented a very nice Studio Apartment on the 4th floor of a very new Condo building next to the National Building Museum near Chinatown. So don't give in to the hype and misinformation that the fawning national media spews at us all about the Bama-rama. Now, we'll be feted with full page spreads about the "inagural" suit, the "inagural designer gown of Michele,' and just how Kennedyesque they all are. Oh, the Vanity Fair!! Oh, the grand and spacious building!!!

Chaffetz is an opportunist telling people what they want to hear. He is not sincere in his beliefs. People in the third district are so gullible. If they bothered to look at employment and political history they would see that. Talk about sheep!
Stewart | 11:42 a.m. Nov. 22, 2008
Looks like there are still a bunch of Third District losers out there still trolling for Chaffetz in the DesNews comments. I am slowly getting over the election of Obama, and they need to get over the overwhelming election of Jason Chaffetz to the Utah 3rd Congressional District as well.

Re: "the vanity of Jason 5:12 p.m.

Your forgetting that Obama began running for President as soon as he became a senator. He was rarely in Washington even when congress was in session.
The best.... | 3:31 p.m. Nov. 22, 2008
of luck to him. Just remember not to become a hand puppet for the Political elitist in D.C.
Stunt | 9:57 a.m. Nov. 25, 2008
Chaffetz is all fluff and irrelevant to national politics. Make the news while you can with empty gestures. We look forward to nothing of consequence.

Make sure you serve the political elitists of Utah, who are never wrong about anything.

In a gesture of foolish defiance, vote against the president on everything and you'll be certain to be elected in perpetuity.

Above all else, remember that you and your image come first. If your country really needs you, just vote "present."
