I always wondered what that U was for. Most letters on the mountain are not for town names but for high schools or colleges. I could not recollect Uintah having either. I see that letter every day. It is clearly visible from Hill AFB.
The film sounds interesting. I'd like to see it. I hope to hear more about it and hopefully see it at a Cache Valley theatre some day.
I've seen that U most of my life living in the area and never thought a thing about it.. Back in college, the rock band U2 was was coming to Utah to perform for the first time so me and some friends hiked up there and put a white 2 next to the U temporarily. (of course the U in SLC had a giant 2 next to it at the same time for the event). Also I know many scouting and church groups take turns hiking the steep hillside to repaint the rocks every year or so. Nice to learn the history.
just watched it what a great true story golden kilburn what a great man .you have to see this story if you live in northern utah .
