How could anyone say she's not a horrible person? Anyone who would treat children that way is indeed a horrible person.
Horrible, horrible, horrible person. If this sort of person isn't "horrible," who is?
It's hard to see people you unconditionally love as horrible people, even if they did horrible things.
Horrible is as horrible does!
I'm sorry, what a harsh way to learn a simple lesson of "asking for help" if you're in over your head. I could see a lesser punishment if the kids were physically healthy, ornery and defiant and had a record of extreme misconduct. Maybe growing up she was treated likewise, but for cryin out loud, to the point of starving them like that, no clothes, cold AND locking them up?! Common sense woman!
"She's the first to say she did horrible things," he said of Heath. "But she's not a horrible person."
This begs the question then...what kind of person is she?
A VERY HORRIBLE PERSON?
I pray she does get the maximum sentence of 30 years in prison (as well as her boyfriend)! Even then it is too little of a punishment for what she and her boyfried put these children through!
"Heath will go take her pre-sentence report accepting full responsibility and not passing blame or mentioning mitigating circumstances, such as cultural differences in discipline, her lack of criminal history and the children's troubled past, which includes other instances of abuse"
I think she made horrible decisions. It's in good character that she's taking responsibility for her actions. I don't believe she's a horrible person. She's someones sister, daughter, friend, and love one.
Obviously we're not getting the whole story here. These are people who have worked with abuse in the past and have heard all the excuses. Yes, its horrible what was done to these children, but we're not being told the whole story. I'm sure he wouldn't make a statement like, "I don't believe she's a horrible person", without having a reason behind it. I would like to hear the whole story before passing judgement.
What a dumb aunt.
I would have to agree that she is not a horrible person. I would have to say she is not human. She is a horrible, selfish, viscious creature of some other species and I would just as soon not see her connected to the human race.
these children are now safe and doing well.
stick these two fat bodies on the same diet , then let them walk around in the cold with newspapers..geeze while your at it give em a medal or use them as role models for the next kooks who come along saying ...you know i accept full responsibility but i am not a horrible person ..why it was my culture in this here society called the civilized one so that's the rest of the story!
