What is he changing? Anyone suprised about Obama picking old liberal Washington insiders for his cabinet? Don't pay any attention to the man behind the "change" curtain folks! Obama the liberal isn't going to change a thing! Some of you might think he is a wizard, but some of us weren't fooled by anyone who quacks like a liberal, walks like a liberal and smells like a liberal. Who is suprised that the man behind the curtain is really a Washington insider liberal after all? God help us because no one else can now.
Obama was elected on "hope and change." Is the selection of institutionalized Beltway bozos like Daschle and Clinton what we need to move our government forward? Come on, Obama, give us what we voted for!
Daschle was so unpopular at home his own constituents voted him out of office. His nomination is another example of Obama's apparent preference for dragging out the same old worn out retreads - Washington Insiders - for cabinet appointments.
Funny how a former Senator unpopular at home can be so popular in Washington D.C.
As an aside we can only hope Harry Reid is so unpopular at home his constituents will vote him out of office next election. Pelosi, being from San Fran. is so popular with those "progressive" constituents she could win re-election without seeking office.
You Obama supporters got what you paid for, and now we're all going to suffer for it.
I for one, I'm happy with his selection.
I love this selection. What a better way to get back at Limbaugh and conservative politics of hate than having Daschle in the cabinet? Read the comments.
I'm going to suffer? No, this is like a survivor who had had to live off insects and lizards being feed steak. After eight years of Bush how can things get worst?
First off, HHS should be shut down fully, saving the tax payers tri;;ion's in that failed socialist utopian program's/program. With Time magazine comparing Obama to Jesus, I guess we should be relieved that, this week, liberals are only comparing him to Abraham Lincoln. The one thing every liberal on TV seems to know about Lincoln is that he put rivals in his cabinet. And hasn't Obama talked to former rival Hillary about becoming his secretary of state? Hasn't he had a sit-down with Sen. John McCain? Did I imagine this, or is he even now brokering peace talks between Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck?. I don't recall the media swooning when President George W. Bush reached out to rivals, such as Sen. Teddy Kennedy, who was asked to co-write Bush's education bill. In fact, the way I remember it, Bush is liberals' most hated president ever (only because they can't remember George Washington or they'd hate him, too). And yet no modern president has ever done more to bridge partisan divides and show respect to his opponents than George W. Bush. I do not say this with admiration, it is simply a fact.
"DUCK n COVER" from these Powerful Democratic Senators as well - 1. Harry Reid (Nev.) Senate majority leader will have at least 57 Democratic votes to push Obamas agenda. 2. Dick Durbin (Ill.) Senate majority whip will enforce party discipline. 3. Christopher Dodd (Conn.) Chairman of the Banking Committee will have oversight of massive federal bailout of financial institutions. 4. Daniel Inouye (Hawaii) Taking over as chairman of the Appropriations Committee from Robert Byrd, will be in charge of doling out billions of dollars. 5. Patrick Leahy (Vt.) will shepherd Obamas judicial nominees through confirmation hearings, including for the Supreme Court. 6. Carl Levin (Mich.) Chairman of the Armed Forces Committee will help downsize the Pentagon so Obama will have more money for his campaign promises. 7. Barbara Boxer (Calif.) Chairwoman of Environment and Public Works Committee will make sure that global warming is a top priority. 8. Charles Schumer (N.Y.) will work to ensure that Democrats maintain their majority in 2010. 9. Max Baucus (Mont.) to help Obama "spread the wealth." 10. Edward Kennedy (Mass.)
Chuck, hopefully we can make Michael Moore the chairman of the FCC. :-)
Daschle lost his sentate seat because, in the opinion of the voters, he no longer represented the voter's interests.
Now instead of Daschle only not representing the interests of South Dakota voters, he may get a chance to not represent voters of the other 49 states.
His selection makes perfect sense - remember America, the government, regardless of party, is not your friend. Government representatives are agents of: 1. their own interests, relatives and friends, 2. their own re-election, and 3. their special interest lobbist masters.
I hear if Franken loses the election runoff in Minnesota (we all know he will not lose) Franken will be asked to make sure the education system standards remain so low that schools keep producing uneducated voters so the dems can remain in power indefinitely. Should be easy for him.
Thanks for the change Obama.
Jesse Jackson in line to be Press Secretary?
Nice cut and paste from Ann Coulter today!
The neo cons just cannot get past that they lost!
I can't get over losing because with every announcement "We" as Americans continue to lose!
Can't wait for the fireworks! Change is coming for sure, a change for the worse.
Anomymous said Obama cannot be worse than Bush! I am holding Obama responsible for keeping us safe for another seven years. I am holding Obama responsible to fix the economy - as he promised. I am holding Obama responsible to keep this a Capitolist nation as it has been since George Washington. I did not vote for Obama, but he is my president, and his feet will be held to the fire.
