Obama has not even been swore into office, and already he is feverishly working on breaking has campaign promises.
Obama was elected on a platform of being fresh, and not part of the old DC establishment. That he would not be part of the problem. Yet, here he is filling key staff positions, surrounding himself with people that were despised by the American people because they were part of the problem.
It is clear that we have elected another liar. Where will it go from here? Only downhill.
IT LOOKS TO ME LIKE "BIG BUBBA"A.K.A.THE ARKANSAS FLASH WILL SOON BE BACK IN OFFICE.CAN WE HANDLE ANOTHER 4 YEARS OF CLINTON POLITICS??
How can we go downhill when we're already at the bottom of the hill?
Another clinton appointee. Did we elect Hill or Obama?
To BH:
Rather than vent in generalities why not give us some specifics about whom you refer when saying "...surrounding himself with people that were despised by the American people...". "Fresh" does not equate with "untested" which is much of what the former Vice Presidential candidate of the Republican ticket offered. While I agree that the established "old DC" network is something to be avoided wouldn't you agree that a cabinet full of unproven, out of touch and unskilled political "wannabe's" would be disastrous especially in the face of the crises such as those we are now facing not to mention when dealing with foreign countries?
Our President-elect has the freshness of which you spoke but is tempering his staff with people knowledgable in the realities of our political system and world government interfaces. Why is such a broad-based approach being decried? I guess the old adage is true: "You can't please all the people all the time" and unfortunately in your case, and people like you, you will never be pleased.
What happened to "change"? I guess "change we can all believe in," means no change at all. Because obviously we can't believe in real change for the better.
For a state with so many Mormons, there's a lot of hatred going on. Let's give Obama a chance. Or would you rather destroy the America you claim to love?
Yep you sure got it right. The clintons were so widely despised that the left office with their heads in shame with a lowly 65 percent approval rating.
Here we go again, lets rev up the Utah Republican hate machine and see how nasty we can get when the Clinton name gets mentioned.
REF: BH. You are painting the American people with a very broad hate brush. Not all Americans feel the same way as you when it comes to the Clinton Administration, please include only those that you know in your diatribe not the general population.
Talk about lies you would have to go a far distance to find a bigger liar than George W. Bush, that is why the Republicans have lost not only the White House but congress as well.
Wake up and realize that there are 49 states besides Utah.
Buyer's remorse should start to kick in soon. Haven't even enjoyed the honeymoon yet.
We tried to tell you before you guys voted for him. Since this election was not based on substance, no one seemed to care at the time of purchase.
BH,
nominated Attorney General.
President-elect Obama isn't a fool and isn't going to select his entire cabinet from people who have no experience in Washington even though he will make such selections if they are warranted.
This is a damned if he does and damned if he doesn't proposition. If he chooses people with no Washington experience he will be criticized for only selecting novices and if he only selects people with inside the beltway experience he will be criticized because he didn't choose people who didn't come from outside of the beltway.
Obama as far as we can see is making the selections based on who he thinks will be in the best interest of the country. Holder has professional experience at Justice and has even served as Acting Attorney General before Bush replaced him with John Ashcroft. This isn't a position that you pick someone who does not have experience and Obama realizes it nor would anyone without extensive experience be confirmed by the Senate.
President-elect's don't go through a phone book and randomly pick people to fill cabinet positions. They choose from people who can help them make informed decisions because of their experience.
So much for CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN!
Maybe when Obama refers to "recycling" he is talking about his cabinet.
Well, Citizen... considering that Bill's approval rating was 66% when he left office (which I believe was the highest approval rating of any President in the last month of office), I'd say that we could certainly stand a few more years of Clinton policies.
We'll have change-change to good old Chicago style politics.
Let's hope so, it would be great to have another eight years of good economic times like during the Clinton years of prosperity and surplus.
In most cases, knowing the wolf is in your own hen house is the safest thing to do. Unlike knowing he is roaming around somewhere outside and you cant track and keep tabs on his whereabouts and wannadoos!
Better than that BYU grad that gave Bush the legal thumbs up to torture.
"Had not opposed the pardon when other administration officials told him it could bring foreign policy benefits..."
Great person to run to Department of Justice. Nice to know if you have money and connections the rules don't apply.
Given that Bush has shown the world and this country how to govern the past eight years, many of you haven't even given Obama a chance to start. Maybe you like our country the way it is now - messed up.
how come no one mentions that our enimies have the option to be tortured or not? They can give us the information we need to defend outselves. They know thier cause is unjust so why not give us the informaion? Besides, waterboarding is not that bad of torture. These people are out to destroy us.
