LDS Church News: 'Reality' TV show blends families, scholarly insights

Thanks to KBYU and BYU-tv for putting this show on the air. This is a very Professionally Produced show and it carries a Positive and Realistic
outlook on Family Life. Hope it does well on PBS next year.

I'm saddened that there are so few comments on this story and that there's so many many comments on the
stories that deal prop 8.

The hashing over and over and over of the pro's and con's of prop 8 is so repetive and does little to
contribute and/or make life better.

Let's spend the "LIMITED" hours and days of our lives focusing on more up-lifting and things that will Improve the world we live in.

This Mortal Life has only so many hours and days.
It is Not without end.

When it is all over, what was left behind?

The question could be asked:

Did I make a Difference??

And if so, What Kind of Difference??

that deals with Positive insights and has good
advice. Hope it does well on PBS next week.

It's sad to Not to see more comments on a story like this. So many comments on stories related to
prop 8.

All the comments on prop 8 for and against that go on and on and on seem so repetitive and what's accomplished?? So much re-hashing of the
same 'ole stuff.

Aiming in a Positive direction uplifts the soul
and Can make a difference.

We have just so many hours and days in Mortal life.
There is an End to Mortal life.

It's better to Focus on the positive. As Gordon B. Hinckley said many times, Spinning around in
the negative doesn't really contribute.

When Mortal life is over, what's left behind??

The question could be asked:
Did I make a Difference??

And if so, what kind of Difference??

People only comment on hot button issues that are divisive. Thats they way it always has been.

To: Great Show -- If you are "saddened" by the fact that so few people have commented on this article, you are going to be a basket case before this life is through. As a result of the article, I will probably make an attempt to watch this show at least once. Have a marvelous day.

Would it not be wonderful if the mormon church through the media of Byu would produce a show that dealt with truth rather than propaganda.

I'm OK. I'm just saying that good/uplifting things are generally ignored or very much "put on the back burner" when there's opportunity to relentnessly go on and on back and forth arguing about things that we have little influence over.

The election took place almost two weeks ago. It's now history! The John McCain supporters have agreed and have the maturity to not keep going on debating. It's time to unite after the election is over!! That's what Democracy IS after an election.

We need good TV programs and other venues to offer
Positive Answers. This particular TV programs does that. Hope you get a chance to see that in it.

I know one of the experts that comment on one of the segments, they are also one of the families featured in a segment coming in the next few weeks. They said it was a fun experience participating as a family.

This show is very informative and well done. Our family has been watching regularly and is better for it.

I am glad to see that it is not soley a Mormon show as there are families of different faiths featured.

I would highly reccommend this show to everyone. If we all lived the principles this show espouses our world would be a happier,less painful place to be.

If this show esouses mormon principle and how momnet interpret those principles it will be an entertaining if not comical effort. I personally don't think mormons should go down this road as it will make you look worse than you already do and cause more of a mockery of you religion.

Here is one reality I would like to state. The church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints." It is not the "Mormon" church. Mormon was a nickname given to us by those who opposed us. And while most of us acknowledge someone who calls us Mormon.......we should let everyone know that it is not a term that we fully embrace, it is better to clarify just exactly what the name of our church is, and to whom we have allegiance to.

Tune in to real families learning how to be a family. These are all real families and not necessarily LDS families. Tune in. You may learn a few thing that could improve your own family, and if you don't yet have a family for whatever reason, you might learn pointers for how to raise children. One suggestion might be to not spoil your kids. Don't give in to every tantrum they throw or they may grow up thinking they should always get their way.
