OH PLEASE!. "President-elect Barack Obama on Saturday urged Congress to get moving next week".

Obama can't urge squat.

Remember he QUIT his Senate Seat.

He's not President till Jan. 2009.

Right now all he is - is a do nothing - "nothing." Until than.

I wonder what happened to one president at a time?
urge | 11:43 a.m. Nov. 15, 2008

Urgeing King George to end a war......fix the economy..... and change the broken way his administration ran this country into a 10 trillion dollar debt is what got Obama where he is today.
Even McCain wanted a different way of doing business.
The american people have made their choice but now we wait and can only hope Obamas words sink in and george helps get a few months ahead of the change that Obama suggests. I just wonder how many more homeless will be added to the streets, how many more persons will lose their homes, how many more soldiers will die and how many more families will go bankrupt because of medical debt before King George goes to Dallas.
george can be a gracious loser and help fix his mess a bit early or continue to not get the picture.
Jan 20 will happen..Change will come....I URGE George to wake up......and I am just a citizen of what used to be the greatest country on earth and will help make the place great again.
How about a two month head start.

We had two men meeting in the Oval Office at the White House last week. One, many Americans, felt was incompetent to lead our nation. Luckily his term as nearly come to and end. Obama, like a Thoroughbred can't suppress is calling to lead.

What has Bush's inability to understand the extend of America's economic problems or his refusal to admit the American economy due besides delaying finding a solution.

As banks were failing, conservatives blamed those reporting the problem.
TO: Brother Chuck Shroeder | 1:37 p.m. Nov. 15, 2008
Hey Chuck!

Get your facts straight!

Obama is a senator until Sunday (tomorrow). That's when he announced he would be vacating his senate seat. Until then he IS a senator and can call upon his fellow senators for action.

To all others who don't have their fact straight on this forum, there are just too many of you on this forum. Before you open your mouths, pleeeaaassse... GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!

And pleeeeaaassse... all of you Obama naysayers, you need a reality check concerning the fear that Obama and the Democratic congress will collapse our economy... BUSH and the REPUBLICAN congresss of 2000 - 2006 already did that! Thank God the past two years we had a Democratic majority to at least slow down the insanity...

Fact is, the economy has already crashed! Republicans are not qualified to get us out of the mess. They're like having a fox guard the henhouse. As Obama campaigned, 'Time For Change.' That's why the Democratic drubbing of 2006 continued right into 2008, with not one Democratic seat lost to Republicans... I'd say that is quite a mandate for change.

Make no mistake, Obama has REAL 'political capital' Bush could only dream of.
Re: To Brother Chuck | 3:09 p.m. Nov. 15, 2008
You have a very short memory. The American economy was wonderful! The stock market in record territory, unemployment at record lows, etc, etc. In 2007 when the Dems took over the congress things began to go down hill. Obama has nothing but words and a huge injection of more socialism. He will change things, but you aren't going to like what he will change!
chuck? | 3:14 p.m. Nov. 15, 2008
Obama won't fix anything. He'll make things worse. You guys need to study economics. He wants a economic "STIMULUS" package. DO you really knows, what that means? That means, the government is going to borrow more money. Because we are broke as a country. Check what Republicans and Democrats has done.
Borrowing more money won't solve the problem. That's like getting another credit card to solve the problem with my overcharge credit card.
My advice, don't expect anything but worse news from Obama. Hang on to your wallet.
Why Obama will fail | 3:37 p.m. Nov. 15, 2008
"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery" Winston Churchill
Government mandated "Ninja loans" (no income, no job, no assets housing loans)=socialism and is the real reason for our economic problems and certainly more Obameconomics backed by more Democratic congress socialism cannot succeed. Hang on folks! In 4 years we will all be very ready for good change-economic responsibility, lower taxes, and less government meddling!
TY | 3:49 p.m. Nov. 15, 2008
Socialists (Democrats) have never understood economic principles-supply and demand laws, private economic development, and lower taxes create growth! They seem to believe "this time, it will succeed just because Obama is in".

Re: 1:37 PM, 3:09 PM & 3:14 PM, the only thing Obama will change is this maybe?. I had a dream, that Obama drove out to this event in a 1936 Ford Phaeton, with his files on the creation and functioning of the CCC, NRA, WPA, TVA and other New Deal agencies on the seat, looking like Franklin Delano Roosevelt in a Michael Jackson kind of way, thinking about the 2009 Depression, TMZ was there to do the news all 1 million likely for Obama ceremony, for celebrity gossip, Hollywood rumors, celebrity video, found ticket's on eBay and will flood the front row seats, and managing editor Harvey Levin was running this show, and Joan Rivers tore into the First Lady-Elect's wardrobe to see if she really bought it at Wal Mart, Obama was singing Stranger In Moscow as this was going on, than changed his tune to We are the world, we are the children, We are the ones who make a brighter day, So lets start giving, There's a choice we're making, We're saving our own lives its true we'll make a better day, Just you and me. MORE SOCIALISM.

"Obama is a senator until Sunday (tomorrow). That's when he announced he would be vacating his senate seat. Until then he IS a senator and can call upon his fellow senators for action"

Actually Obama left his senate seat before he even sat down in it. If you dont believe me look at his voting record.

Forget your Republican Reaganomics and Unrestricted Capitalism.
The Country is broke......the rich got richer....the middle class is broke and we are back to the Keynsian model.
The whole world bought some form of the Unbridled Capitalism plan and only China with its "managed economy" is left standing with a surplus.........whoops....Saudia Arabia has a surplus of petro dollars.

Suck it up Reaganites......your party is over and the same old rhetoric doesn't fly any more.

You broke the country then lost the election..... the rest of us are left to pay the price.

Why Obama will fail | 3:37 p.m. Did Rush mention that the Changes to the Community Reinvestment Act was passed by a republican majority with a veto proof number of votes? You're blaming Clinton shows you failed your due diligence. What happened to personal accountability? :-) American votes held republicans accountable.

Georgia tried to control subprime loans; only to have the Bush administration, tell Georgia that federal law trumped state laws?

Why has Fox not told the whole story?

At the peak of issuing subprime loans, only 23% were issued by those covered by the Community Reinvestment Act.

As this was happening, Bush was telling Americans the economy was fine and Fox News and Limbaugh were taking aim at the messenger, the news outlets reporting the truth.
Re: anonymous | 4:46 p.m. Nov. 15, 2008
Sorry, good guess but I don't listen to Rush or watch Fox, but I wish I could. I came to my knowledge being in the real business world. I have to work 12-14 hours each day just to pay my taxes which thanks to Obama, will go way up!
Bro Chuck's Rock & Roll's | 4:55 p.m. Nov. 15, 2008
Obamacon and the Demo's are engaged in what they so roundly criticize the world for, nation building. They are engaged in building a nation within a nation, a voting block of people who are either scared of the future or figure they can get money out of the government. People who will only vote for their party. I believe an Obama presidency will be hostile to businesses, big and small, will increase in one way or another every working American's taxes, will exponentially increase the rolls of government dependency and wreck the health care industry. I think Obama will take us in the wrong direction & he has plenty of help in congress to do that. ma's election caues me to fear for my country. I could not sleep the night before the election, nor could I sleep when the announcement was made that this loony leftie had won. The next day, I expressed my opinion by wearing black to work. I fear, like many, that we will be in for a rough ride, this reprobate and his cohorts in Congress will try to shove high taxes, the Fairness Doctrine, flawed Jimmy Cateresque energy thing.
Diff between Obama and FDR | 5:58 p.m. Nov. 15, 2008
FDR also rescued the unemployed by coming up with ways to for them to work to earn the money. That way when an opportunity came along to earn money from a private company, they were incented to take it. Obama and congress want to give people money for not working, and then when they get a job they want to take their money away. This gives no incentive to be self sufficent; rather it creates people who rely on the govenrment for their well being. This policy assures these people's votes in the future, because they have become dependant on the hand out, and can't afford leadership that requires something at them. They simply don't know how to do it.

This policy is good for getting reelected, but bad to create a strong nation. I wish the Democrates would get back to their roots, and were concerned about the health of the nation.

Strange how much Socialism and Communism seem to come into popularity when congress and the presidential seat get liberal. Provide everyone with a Communistic or Socialistic pacifier and you will get lazy people, high unemployment and bad economy. THE ONLY REASON FOR THE ECONOMY TO HAVE BEEN IN A GOOD POSITION DURING THE LAST 2 DECADES IS BECAUSE OF REAGANOMICS. To believe otherwise means brainwashing by the democrats actually took well for you and you are gullible. Clinton took credit for the set up that Reagan and the first George Bush so he was standing on the shoulders of giants and more concerned about his worldly desires and his and his wife's llusting for power and glory that many still believe anything he says, like he didn't inhale and never had any relations... There is a large list of women he took advantage of that say otherwise. Obama will take credit for good economy but blame Bush who has had to be in the mode of damagecontrol the last 8 years. It wasn't his choice to be cleaning up messes from the Clintons over his 2 terms but the economy is never completely changed overnight. Obama spinning willbe in overdrive.
Founding Father is right | 7:02 p.m. Nov. 15, 2008
Benjamin Franklin said, quite accurately, that we should never make people comfortable in their poverty but work them out of it. Socialism and communism reward no one for excelling and standing out which is why, and this is very sad, we cannot even have competition any more teaching our children that you should strive to be the best you can be but now, under Obama and his brainwashing crews as under Clinton that it is better to not waste the effort and be creative or inventive or even reach for your stars. Tell me how you can make an Olympian if you can only inspire people to be average and dependent on government. The very traits needed to go for the gold stand against the very nature that was defined by the Oh so wholesome Clinton regime.

Let's not forget how bad of a decision he made when he refused the Rangers in Black Hawk Down the C-130 Spectre gunshippotentially saving the lives of 20 Rangers and nearly 1000 of their opposing forces by making the extraction faster. Instead, Clinton was likely thinking how much Hollywood would thank him for a good movie and putting actors to work.
Brother Chuck Schroeder | 8:06 p.m. Nov. 15, 2008
Thank you all for your comment's. You all get a "GOLD STAR" here. President Obama's a Socialistic pacifier only. If the liberal media covers Obama's membership in a Socialist organization in the mid-90's, this whole election would of than swing another way. In my mind, two forces have shaped this election. The first is "throw the bums out!" I understand this thinking. The liberalCongress approval rating has never been lower because the American citizen is fed up. While we all thought our representatives were running the country with character, they were adding earmarks to every bill and filling their campaign funds with lobbyist's money (bribes). They also were telling banks to make risky home loans without the normal underwriting rules. The whole system has become corrupt. This anger favors Sen. Barack Obama ( with his New Deal - "change"). Americans, be careful not to let your anger at the bums in Washington cloud your judgment. The road to prosperity is not through becoming a European-style socialist utopia.

NOW FOR the Official Record.

This is the truth's.
Say What!!! | 4:01 p.m. Nov. 19, 2008
Americans voted for Obama to be President and he is gathering all of the Clinton's old Administration. Next he will be recruiting Carter to do all of his International Affairs like Clinton did.

Who did America vote for Clinton or Obama????
