Lame! Why did she reschedule it on a Sunday???

They don't celebrate the Sabbath in Canada.

I was given a comp ticket to Celine's show here in Las Vegas when she was at Caesar's Forum. The only thing that made it worth watching were the special effects and other stuff --Celine sounds the same in every song she sings and it got boring fast when she was the focus.
If she's doing a concert with just her and her music, you won't be missing much.

I think that the rescheduled date of the concert needs to change. There are many people who live in Utah, who have been looking forward to this concert for so long, and now, may not be going- because of what so many people believe in here in Utah. If it is possible, the date should be changed. It would allow Celine's fans to still be able to enjoy the concert the way in should be enjoyed.

People need to flood her website and let them know that a concert on the Sabbath in Utah is a horrible idea. Maybe everyone can cause enough of a revolt that they may consider changing the date. I got these tickets as a Christmas Present last year and have been looking forward to this concert for a long time. Everyone needs to speak up!!

Hopefully the postponed concert day can be changed...otherwise, there might be a lot of disappointed mormons and a few more empty seats. However, I'm sure that the fascility is booked and sunday is the only day they may have openings--I hope something can be worked out. I also hope that she recovers fully and quickly from this illness; it sounds miserable!

Please change the date or the venue. We are dedicated fans and since the concert was rescheduled why not have it on another date. We've paid our money and waited a long time so why not be considerate and change the date!
Thanks.

Hey, stop moaning! Just be glad she was able to reschedule in the first place. The infection could have been detrimental to her career. And she tried to make sure she did reschedule.

It shows how selfish you all are.

I'm sure you guys would have moaned if she cancelled altogether. But she wanted to make at least some of her fans in Utah happy.

I pity her for having such whining fans. And I don't even like Celine Dion's music.

Marsha | 10:37 a.m. Nov. 16, 2008
This is crazy. This will be my 3rd time to have Celine concert cancelled. Twice I was in Las Vegas and it was cancelled. Even if we have to wait another year, do not reschedule for a Sunday. Have a little respect for the Sabbath. Does anyone know where we can email her directly????? Everyone needs to email and see what if anything can be done.
celine | 3:54 p.m. Nov. 16, 2008
go on the Celine Dion website and e-mail your concerns Celine is a devout catholic and would surely understand, also e-mail or write the owners of the energy solutions arena. There is no way she would go to a state with a dominant religion and throw their basic belief aside. If she doesn't change it I will not be going...unfortunately because she is awesome in concert!
Anonymous | 3:54 p.m. Nov. 16, 2008
She is sick there is nothing to be done about it hopefully she will get well soon
suzie | 5:00 p.m. Nov. 16, 2008
of course e want her to get better. we are not lame fans just dissapointed ones!
carlisle | 5:02 p.m. Nov. 16, 2008
why is someone who doesn't like her music making a comment anyway?
Get better Celine. hopefully we can avoid the sunday reschedule...
Unbelievable | 5:50 p.m. Nov. 16, 2008
I went on Ticketmaster the moment tickets went on sale, picked great seats, lost my seats while I created a user account (TM holds selected seats for just a couple minutes), got crappy seats, waited a year, and now Celine postpones to a Sunday? If I can figure how to get through the goofy URL Ticketmaster sent for refunds, I'm getting my money back (less the Tickemaster fee, believe it or not), and taking my wife to a nice dinner. D for Celine, F for Ticketmaster.
Sure, Try to Fill Her Website | 5:52 p.m. Nov. 16, 2008
If you can find a place on Celine's website to send comments, let us know.
weekend playtime | 6:31 p.m. Nov. 16, 2008
funny the comment about changing the date and saying you want to enjoy a concert the way it should be enjoyed, does a friday over a sunday give you church going people more fun on a friday than a sunday is it because you planned to drink friday and go to church on sunday... you are all to hilarious, and so hateful... comment rude things on here then go to church... hmmmmmm
chris | 9:10 p.m. Nov. 16, 2008
weekend playtime, you have no idea what you're talking about. It's not that we would have more fun going on a Friday than on a Sunday. It's the fact that we don't believe in doing that sort of thing on the Sabbath. I'm sure most LDS members like myself who own tickets would rather not go at all than go to this concert on a Sunday.
Anonymous | 9:16 a.m. Nov. 17, 2008
:( I hope Celine feels better, obviously...but I am still disappointed just because the situation is what it is. I've looked forward to this concert as I looked at the tickets on my fridge for over a year. However, since you can only get a refund until 12/1 and I had no idea how big of a hassle it would be, I already called and got my refund (won't go on Sunday). If she changes the date now and I miss out on 11th row seats I'm going to be upset. Seriously, whoever made that rescheduling decision was NOT thinking.
Amy | 10:02 a.m. Nov. 17, 2008
More money in my pocket for Christmas. Thanks Celine. I'll listen to my CD's.
Audra | 11:40 a.m. Nov. 17, 2008
I think it's the anticipation that has everyone disappointed - I have been looking forward to this concert for several months, and unfortunately Feb. 22nd is my due date! LOL. I may be too pregnant to go. I think it's an unfair assumption that anyone who is disappointed doesn't care about Celine being ill. (Imagine the stress her body is under!) If she has other show dates to keep, Sunday may have been their only option...
BC | 11:44 a.m. Nov. 17, 2008
I want everyone to know that not ALL LDS people are like some of the ones posted here. You non-LDS people only remember comments that are not up to your standards. There are good and bad people in all walks of life, but to put us all down really shows what kind of person you truly are. I am a very proud LDS member, I am not perfect and I never will be. I will be attending Celine Dion's concert on Sunday or whatever day she comes. Let's all just be greatful she is still coming. And for all you who keep blaming Celine Dion (or even thanking her for more christmas money) how many of you really think she schedules all her concerts personally?
Sarah | 12:27 p.m. Nov. 17, 2008
If you search her website you can find an email address to send a message, the email is listed under the terms of use. I sent one earlier today.
Steve - Be glad she's coming | 1:46 p.m. Nov. 17, 2008
BC made a great point, Celine most likely isn't the one doing her scheduling... she has people that do that for her.

I understand the disappointment at having it bumped 3 months into the future after you've been looking forward to it for a year now. My sister got her ticket when they went on sale a year ago and she's upset. But everyone just needs to be glad she rescheduled at all... she could just as easily have canceled all her dates during her time off for recovery. Be glad that you still get to see her.

To those calling for everyone to flood her site with requests to move it from a Sunday, be carefull... you might risk getting the concert cancelled with too much griping.

That Sunday date was probably the best they could come up with, they had to find a date that fit BOTH into her schedule and when the arena was still open. Not easy.

Also keep in mind that for singers this is their job, they do have lives outside of their music and touring... a life they all would probably like to return to rather than be on the road indefinately.
Anonymous | 2:09 p.m. Nov. 17, 2008
I couldn't care less what day it's on. I'm a true Celine Dion fan and will be there whenever she comes! I'm even considering going to another city just to see her because I cannot wait until February after counting down the days for so long.
Anonymous | 9:19 p.m. Nov. 17, 2008
Yes... I agree with you Steve. But it still wouldn't hurt to try. No one knows for sure why the concert was rescheduled for a Sunday. So people should still write Celine letters, everybody just needs to remember that 1) it probably wasn't her choice, and 2) maybe it's the only day that it could be done on.
Jen | 10:15 a.m. Nov. 18, 2008
I am sad that the concert was rescheduled for a Sunday. I have send an email to team celine in hopes that enough of us will make our voice heard so that the concert could be rescheduled for a different day of the week.
Anonymous | 12:53 p.m. Nov. 18, 2008
AEG Live schedules the concerts. The person who scheduled this concert is Jennifer Cruz. You can email her her email address is under jcruz at aeglive.com or try going on Celine Dion's official website under terms of use. There is an email address there. It would be so nice to get this concert changed to any day other than Sunday.
Steve - Tred with caution | 1:21 p.m. Nov. 18, 2008
I looked at Celine's official website & it appears the tour was to end in Canada in early February of 2009 & she has been kind enough to tack on about 4 dates (including Salt Lake) to the end of the tour rather than cancel them.

There are probably a couple reasons why Utah ended up with it's Sunday date.

1. When concerts get postponed it is typical for the artist to either squeeze it in between current tour dates or stick the new date at the very end of the tour (she appears to have done the later). They can't just schedule it willy nilly for some far date after the end of the tour because it's not practical (they need to do it while the tour group is still assembled, something they can't maintain indefinately).

2. We don't know what Celine's professional and personal commitments are. This Sunday date might be the only one available that works with her schedule and availability at Energy Solutions Arena.

So again, keeping the above in mind, be greatful you still get to see her... gripe alot and she could cancel. So try to change it at your own peril.
KatieW | 11:27 p.m. Nov. 18, 2008
When I was informed of the concert being postponed, yes, i was so disappointed! i cnat wait any longer to be 9 rows away from my favorite singer! And yes, it is frustrating that it has to be on a sunday, but either way i know i will leave the arena being completely speechless! I am a die-hard fan and ive waited for this day my whole life, so as long as i can see her in concert i will be better than ever! I LOVE YOU CELINE! you've changed my life with your music... get better soon!
Kristen | 6:09 p.m. Nov. 19, 2008
Just beware those who are trying to change the date. The San Diego concert was just cancelled because they couldn't find a date that worked, after she couldnd't preform on the 25th because of her illness. I would rather have the choice to go on Sunday, then not at all.
To go or not to go? | 6:57 a.m. Nov. 20, 2008
I have read som of these comments and I really think that people need to pick and choose for themselves, of if they are going to go or not isin't that why it is called freeagency? Maybe that is the only time that she could get, You be the Judge, To go or not to go
Your Choice? | 7:21 a.m. Nov. 20, 2008
SHe is trying the best that she can and if Sunday is the only day that she can come then just be glad,
Be glad that she is coming anway, I know that some people would be disapointted but I figure once in a great while will not hurt, I know the Jazz do not play any home games on Sunday, in the ESA, But it is up to the person, It is their choice to make, on what they want to do, Good Luck in decideing you choices, on To Go Or Not To Go?
Michelle | 10:42 a.m. Nov. 20, 2008
Who cares if its on a Sunday. Thats one thing that everyone hates about Utah is that nothing is open or places close early because the Mormons can't spend any money. Mormons corrupt everything and need to mind their own business. And if the concert is on Sunday than TOO BAD. Don't go. It will be better with less stuffy judgemental, polygamist mormons.
=)
GOD BLESS
Oh flip. | 10:28 p.m. Nov. 20, 2008
My daughter has really been wanting to go to this concert, but we didn't have tickets and weren't going to pay the scalpers. So I heard today it had been rescheduled, and I went into ticketmaster, and what do you know, they had great seats available for cheaper than the ticket resale places! Wow, I thought, a nice Christmas gift for her, so I bought some. It wasn't until after the purchase that the date popped up as SUNDAY Feb. 22nd. Flip.
Lucy | 11:58 p.m. Nov. 21, 2008
Wow, Michelle. I don't think "everybody" hates Utah. Those who do could certainly find somewhere else to live. And, by the way, Mormons are not the only ones who feel this way about the concert being on Sunday. I am a Catholic and I prefer to keep the Sabbath Day holy too. There's no reason to say the things you did about the Mormons they are some of the best people I know.
Stop being ridiculous people | 10:00 p.m. Nov. 26, 2008
Its not a matter of religion, or a matter of who rescheduled it on a sunday.. just be grateful that shs even coming! they could have easily cacelled it... i respect that if you dont want to go on a sunday, but those that are trying to get it cancelled n a sunday must not be true fans... im so willing to go just as long as i get to see her. and michelle...just becaseu you may know ome mormons that are judgemental, doesnt mean all mormons are so i would be careful with how ou phrase that.... and thanks lucy for being ature about this..i was very impressd with your comment. im mormon, but some of the geates people i associate with are catholic..! thanks for your comment
shellman | 6:16 p.m. Nov. 27, 2008
Blah, Blah, Blah.....Boo Hooo! The Sabbath! What a bunch of Hipocrites, stop living out of the old testament; where if you worked on Sunday - You died. God won't care if you go to a Sunday concert and listen to music. He just might be there.
