Better Than Standup?

My question for the CW fan who blogged before the game that CW players, coaches and fans had so little respect they were laughing and joking about the PV players and coaches and how PV should just try to hold CW under a 100 points...still laughing, hotshot? Thank you for the great bulletin board pinup.

That said, congratulations to CW on getting the win. I've always had great respect for Coach Thomas, who is a class guy, his assistants and program and wish him and the CW team the best of luck against Timpview.

With all due respect to Timpview, I still think CW's offense is better. The left side of Timpview's offensive line is a load, but I give CW a big edge at QB and RB. CW's defense might not be quite as good, but it's close. No one should ever underestimate Timpview, but I really think CW is the better team this year.

Coach

Great game on both sides of the ball. Classy play by both teams and coaching staff. Pineview is real and despite being blown out in their first game with the Wood, came back and proved that unlike the regular season, the playoffs are a whole new game and in fact, is just like a seperate season. Big kudos to C Wood who played one of the toughest schedules of the season. And despite struggling at times both offensively and defensively, the Colts always found a way to win. That is the mark of a championship team. Good luck to both C Wood and T View in the finals next week. Couldn't ask for a better matchup nor more deserving teams to play for the state title.

pv fan

why didnt pv attemt a field goal on two differant occasions in the first half? they won last week with a 36 yarder. even if they made only one of the two, they are down by two points on the 5 yd line at the end of the game and should have won.

Southern Utah

Good season again for Pine View. Just cant win the big one(s). Good Program good coach but I cant figure what keeps them off the top?

Southern Fan

Nice spot on the ball at the end of the game...see the film?

Re:Better Than Standup?

I couldn't agree more with your comments on the game. Regards to the poster who said CW would win by 100 is not a True CW fan. My guess is a Bitter St. George fan whose team didn't win and their Bitter rival is still in the semis.
Great game by both teams and way to comeback PV, I sure have a lot of respect for your players for never giving up when they get down and showing great class in the loss.
Hopefully we won't have a lot of smack talk this week between TV and CW fans or non fans I should say wanting to stir things up between the 2 teams.
TV is the best and until they are beat they will remain the best and no blogger needs to remind CW of this fact.
I am a CW Dad and hope for a good clean game between the 2 teams and hopefully both teams are at full strength with no major injuries to their key players this week.
This is for State and may the best team win.

GO COTTONWOOD COLTS!

CW

Very nice game Cottonwood. You looked great. Good luck next week against the cheaters!

well the uhsaa association got what they wanted... a cottonwood, timpview final! good job boys! cottonwood has a great chance if they get the same officials. I'm a Brighton graduate and a hs football fan. The stuff i heard during the week from friends whom are official, is embarrasing!!! I'm shovked!

To: PV Fan

Uh, the score was 19-14 at the end of the game, a 5 point spread. A field goal at that point was meaningless (19-17?). The PV coaches did the right thing. With the game on the line, 4th and 2, they flooded the end zone with receivers and gave Ence the option to run. Should he have passed? Not with space to run in. He pulled it down, turned it up, and CW made a play (not going to discuss that poor spot by the ref). Ence made the right decision, and I for one can't think of another (uninjured) player I'd rather have had carrying PV's season on the last play. Right call, Coach Hosner, to the right player.

Final Spot

The video angle of the final spot on Ence's 4th down run is just that... an angle... I haven't seen a video shot yet looking straight down the line. I happened to be up, straight down the line looking at the spot... my angle... it was a good spot. I liked the play call, Ence did what he could, Cottonwood made a good play on the tackle. Spots & refs are part of the game... until we are able to get video replay within the rules of high school, we have those limitations.

revisited

Dear Ray,

It's only been a few years since you considered the Warrior Nation. We think you should try again...

Re;Revisited-

Go visit somewhere else-I thought you had a great wonderful coach that you all loved..Good luck with that.

High school football fan

All I know is that the final score of the game was 19-14 with cottonwood winning the game. You can complain about the spot or the refs or anything else you want that is just poor sportsmanship. Give it to cottonwood they won the game! Pineview didnt deserve to advance with the way they have acted with this loss. The spot they got at the end of the game was actually a good spot. I was sitting directly across from it and I was shocked with the spot the refs actually gave them. You are parents and definitely have a bias towards your program. Blaming the refs for a game is very bad sportsman ship! Blaming the refs and making excuses for the loss downgrades how well the boys actually played. does Pineview really think there wasn't any missed calls by the refs that could have gone cottonwood's way? Grow up Coaches and parents of Pineview show some class. Cottonwood won and there is no sense complaining now. Shoulda coulda woulda. There were many times cottonwood was knocking on the door and didnt put it in either. The FINAL SCORE WAS 19-14. Congratulations Cottonwood! Good luck next week!

To High School Football Fan

Dude, chill out. Nobody's taking anything away from Cottonwood; they're a great team and my money's on them next week. Pine View was within three inches of winning the game and you're gonna lecture a few disgruntled people (probably parents) who saw the spot differently? Come on. You honestly think CW fans wouldn't be doing some of that if it had gone the other way?

I was actually on the sidelines near the end zone and I saw exactly what the ref did in spotting the ball and I disagree with you, but it doesn't matter, does it? The vast majority of PV fans have let it go and wish CW the best. Good sportsmanship involves winning with grace too. Let it go.

To:High school football fan

Interesting you said you were sitting directly across from the spot-those seats were taped off-So nope-don't think so..
Regardless-doesn't matter-game is over but don't try to justify comments with no truth to back it up..
good luck next week CW-This PV fan is cheerng for you all the way!!!

to to high school football fan

If you read his blog he said he was on the sidelines not in the stands.

Re:to to high school football fa
