Hi Just As,
It is pointless to criticize the media -- just as pointless as it would be to criticize you. However, I do feel badly that, in the end, all this gall will only end up hurting the people who are spewing it. This means those on both sides who are engaging with acid comments. There is no end to bitterness until it totally consumes the soul of he or she who harbors it. It is like a person who takes poison and then expects the person who is the object of his vengeance to die. For your own sake, all of you should learn to let go of bitterness. I say, debate without hate!

whats missing is the Church's understanding of the spiritual side of those opposing prop 8.

I know of no person who's spirituality is developed by trying to deny marriage to same-sex couples. One can seek to develop spirituality by effacing oneself by helping others, not by trying to oppress and deny rights to others.

Tell me in the Constitution where it gives the "RIght" of marraige to homosexuals? As I see it the right to marraige was not put in by our forefathers - but by 4 (9283487362) judges that went AGAINST the vote (right) of the majority and put own view in. The only one losing "RIGHS" here are us! The right to raise our children as we see see - the right of free speech - the right or religion ! There have been rights taken away but not to the "gays"

You can raise your kids however you like. You shouldn't, however, try to repress others like you repress your kids. That's why it's wrong. Your religious beliefs are safe--but the rights of same-sex couples are denied. The government gives special treatment to heterosexual couples which are denied to same-sex couples. Either give these rights to ALL couples or quit giving heterosexual couples special privileges. By the way, the constitution has nothing to do with marriage, but that DOESN'T mean that the government isn't discriminating by giving heterosexual couples special privileges. Not all of the nation's laws are found in the constitution.
