After watching the game, I have to ask. Where was that mighty Region 1 defence that everyone from Syracuse was talking about in the blogs from yesterdays article. If that was the best that Region 1 has to offer, I think all these other teams would love to play any Region 1 team in the playoffs. By the way the offence was not much better. People from yesterdays blogs also said that the coaching staff was the best in the state. Why couldn't they make the proper adjustments to stop Alta in the second half? One more thing, If they are such a great staff. Why haven't they tought the quarterback the correct way to through a pass. Throwing the ball sidearm just doesn't cut in the next level of ball.
Syracuse had a good year but when it comes right down to, they simply could not play with one of the best in the state. They were over matched by a far better team. Sorry, those are the facts. Better luck next year. Lets hope that Syracuse is not a one hit wonder.
Should be a great game between Alta and Bingham, GO MINERS.

you saw the great "D" last week

Wow! i really thought you guys were going to come out and really hand it to syracuse. this is a team that was 0-10 last year. from what i saw of it even though syracuse lost they physically beat up alta knocking out a couple of players and just man handling them. the only reason for the lop sided score were just 3 big plays on alta's part. but over all syracuse hung in there with a team that was suppose to just dominate from the get go. if alta plays that way next week bingham will have their way with them. GREAT JOB SYRACUSE in physically man handling them. Go Bingham!!

offence- offense

Everyone keeps saying that their team has the best defense in the state. Every time Alta plays someone, their opponent magically has the best defense in the state. I am very surprised that the Deseret News doesnt clear this up with their readers to let everyone know who the real number one defense is in the state is. Binghams high-octane offense is going against the hardest hitting defense in the state. Altas powerhouse offense is going against one of the best defenses in the state. Binghams offense is doubtless the best offense in the state right now, with how they are scoring against all teams. Altas defense is the best defense in the state with how they are stopping everyone at will. Next weeks game is the test of all tests for both teams. If Alta plays a flawless game, they win. If Bingham plays a perfect game too, it will come down to who has the ball last.

I really think that region 1 is the best in the state from top to bottom, but they never have the best team. Other region's are weaker, but they have the top teams in there region.

Turnovers will decide which team is going to win Utahs number one rival game. No hype, just facts! College we have BYU vs Utah, high school football we Alta vs Bingham. This is the game we have talked about all year. Last year the championship game was considered by the majority of the fans, as being played in the semi championship game when you both played each other. This year the championship game will be played where it should be played, in the championship game. Congratulations to both teams, you made it to the highest pedestal we have for Utah football once again. We look forward to a great game.

Sorry Syracuse and Region 1. He doesn't represent Alta fans. Yes, we are proud of how tough our team has been this year. But we know how to spell "offense", "defense" and "Taught".

Get real!!! Alta did dominate Syracuse. How many yards of offense in the first half did Syracuse have? How may yards of offense did they have in the 2nd half with Altas starters in? Alta beat Syracuse on every stat. How many points did Alta score in the 1st half, how many in the 2nd half? If that is not complete domination, I dont know what is.

#1 learn how to spell.

#2 great coaching is taking a school only open for its second year to a state semi-final game.

#3 Syracuse was their own worst enemy not being able to execute in the red zone and having several costly turnovers. This game could have been closer (I know you can qualify any statement with ifs and it doesn't matter, but regardless, I still think it could have been closer. Momentum is huge in the High School game)

#4 Have some respect for your opponent.

Wow what game did you see yesterday

As a reminder this is the first year with a graduating class at Syracuse so a very new program - Hats off to them for going as far as they did !!!

Have some pride you lost, move on. you can say you man handled Alta and your coaches are better and your region is better..Keep saying it and keep getting dominated..that game wasn't even close.
No one cares about your excuses as to why you lost..You just lost, live with it...

will people get off the syracuse bandwagon now that they are out. a couple of things about this special team. they had every player back from last year, every player, they should have won the region and be in the state finals. the last team to get to the state finals in its second year was fremont and they did not have all their players, they had seniors their first year as a school. syracuse was not a special team with great coaches they were an under-achieving team, that should have shown better against alta. if you have all your players back, not just starters all their back ups and special teams players EVERY PLAYER you should at least play for the title, nice job UNDERACHIEVING did not even win the region that is the definition of UNDERACHIEVING

You have no class. Your own football coach was quoted in saying the Titan quarterback was the biggest playmaker he has seen all year. He gave it his all and played with more heart than anyone I've seen. I hope all of the Titans are proud of their accomplishments. Never hang your heads. You are among a select few that was a second year school to get where you did. It was a fun ride. Thanks for all the memories.

Enough already. All these if's and but's. Take a page from a class group like Skyline. They lost, end of story. Act like you've been there before, oh ya I forget you haven't. Next time you want to get on here and disrespect a defending state champion .And yes you did. Remember the other team is reading, that was not even a game it was a beatdown.Davis should have been in the semi's not SyrExcuse...
