This is the happiest 19 year old on the planet. What a great attitude and outlook. I hope Jerry turns him into a beast.
M Okour, should be glad that he has such a good team to play for, Most people you not let you fly half way around the world, and miss games, I wish the best to him and his family, and Hope all is well and hurry back soon so we can taka our tema to a victory
Great game by the rookie! His feets were so much quicker then Okur and defending the pick and roll was very impressive by the rookie, sorry fes, Kos just took his chance and ran with it.
Hummmm so after one game Koufos is better than Okur playing defense? The reason Okur is lazy on defense is that he has no back-up and plays close to 40 minutes a game. If sloan would use the youngsters, Okur's defense would be better as he would have more energy to play some D.
I will vote for Bodaget on the Bucks to be an all star. He is the greatest NBA player of all time. I do not think it was a mistake to draft him with the first overall pick.
Good job rookie. He played alright.
I wish Williams would have only gotten around 20 minutes. I still think he is rushing it. I'm afraid it is going to be bothering him all season. Here's to hoping he only logs about 20 minutes tonight.
Great performance from Kostas who is a proud Ellhnas player. Coah, give him the chances he deserves to prove his worth. I wish you the title this year.
How ironic that the Jazz' MVP over the last three years is the only one of the four All-Star canditates to not have been one. This is the year of the DWill!
Ronnie Brewer may not be an all star, yet, but he's a lot closer to it than a lot of the guys on that list. Look at what he's doing for the jazz right now! Whoever put that list together needs to get a clue.
I'll keep the Okurs in my prayers. I love Memo but sometimes life is more important than an Eastern Conference road trip. I wish the best for them.
Brewer an All Star? Yea right. Not even in the top 10 at his position. Using your logic, CJ is the best player on the team.
Koufus was very active and did not make many blunders for his first rookie start. I agree with D-Will when he said he went up weak a couple of times but he will be fine. He is a big ATHLETIC dude. When was the last time we were throwing al-e-oops to a Center? That was refreshing. He also got his hands on alot of balls and tip several rebounds to his team mates. In addition to his recorded blocked shots, he altered several more. MORE THAN ANYTHING he was a DEFENSIVE PRESENCE in the paint.
It would be nice to spell Okur a bit more so he had the energy to play some D. With Koufus and AK coming off the bench--we should really be able to defend.
It is nice to know we actually have a prospect with this much potential.
Kosta was impressive. It was fun watching him, i thought he played well, i think it looks like he has a future in the rotation. The whole jazz team put together a great effort, at the end of the first half, the philly players were sitting on the bench looking like they were wondering what they did wrong to deserve that onslaught, what they did wrong was agree to be on the jazz schedule, fools. I never like seeing a home team being booed by it's own fans, because, you'd think they would understand this kind of thing is going to happen when they run up against the crushing juggernaut of dwill and co. I'm not a negative person, but the kind of demolition of a team that thinks they can run, like happened last night, puts a skip in my step. Brewer showed up, the jazz need him to be destroying it for the successfull undertaking of their imminent domination. CJ looked like he was about to find his groove, but he slipped off track, don't worry boys, he'll find his stroke. Kosta had a great first game, his work ethic makes him a 7foot stockton, run him.
im the biggest jazz fan! and i agree CJ is awesome! I love all the jazz, if any player has a hard time on defense its Linko alot of the time. The other night against the knicks he just stood ten yards away from the shooter which were money on the 3 line all night long. but i love linko also! anyways Williams is back and he is awesome!Jazz...I LOVE YOU
Miles makes a great point about Okurs minutes and defence. Hopefully by the end of the season Sloan has enough confidence in the young guys to keep Okurs minutes down around 30 a game, I think it would help his confidence and shooting. He averaged almost 40 minutes a game in the playoffs last year.
after seeing koufos play last night, we need to just get rid of Fes, he is now just wasting our time. koufos is picking up on the jazz system within a couple months of being here, and fes still cant figure it out after being here over a year. koufos has already passed him in my opinion, time to free up some roster spots and cap space.
"When was the last time we were throwing al-e-oops to a Center?"
Uh, probably the game before. That exact play is a play they run for Okur all the time. He just doesn't dunk it everytime.
It was an impressive game by the rookie and I hope he continues that same effort for the remainder of this road trip and any other opportunities he may get, ofcourse with his confidence growing as each game goes by.
Okur is still our man and we need him in order to succeed. I wish the best for him and his family. At least with the emergence of KK, Sloan won't feel like he has to rush Collins or Fes back, which is a total blessing.
So after watching the kid in the rocky mountain review and seeing him now there is a big difference! Jerry Sloan isn't lying about this kid. He must work hard. He was active on defense and really didn't make any glaring mistakes, and how about that alley oop! Seriously in my entire life I have never seen the Jazz have a center that could do that. Mark Eaton, no, Greg Ostertag, no, Memo, no. I hope this kid gets some regular minutes. He makes a difference in the paint and could really help us out come playoff time!
Great finish for our Jazz. 3rd quarter blunders could get annoying, but at least they stepped it up and took control. Brewer was great in the 2nd Half. He will be an All-Star once he learns to put together complete games and gets the minutes he needs...
Great to see D-Will back on the floor! He will be fine...He's not rushing it...but it will be a couple games before he's back to 100%. He said it himself...that he won't re-injure it...just play with a little pain is all...
I don't think Fesenko has much promise with the Jazz after last night's performance from Koufos. I think Koufos will be a good player for the Jazz. He should play 12-20 minutes a night, so he can help defend the paint and help Okur so he's more fresh when he steps on the court...
I think with D-Will, Knight, and Price...we are suddenly very deep at PG. When Harpring gets back...and Koufos coming off the bench with AK and Millsap and Knight...Our second team is as good as many first teams in the league!
Gotta beat the Wizards!!
One game...One game......Let's see what happens the rest of the road trip!!
