Are you kidding me? What a silly waste of time talking about buffalo. Let's eat all of them and get it over with. Why does every state in the west have to have a buffalo herd? We ought to move the state prison out on the island, and let the prisoners take care of the critters.

To each his own, I guess----

I thought it was an interesting article. I'm sorry you apparently didn't enjoy it, O BOY.

Are you kidding me? If talking about buffalo is a waste of time then why did you read the article and comment on it?
I guess you're just a pot stirer. Now that is really a waste of time. Grow up and try to do something productive.

Would love to participate in this roundup someday. Would be much better than staying home and playing Wii Wii all day.

I've been horseback-riding at the Fielding Garr Ranch and we rode near the buffalo. Some of the buffalo didn't seem to like us and looked like they might charge. Our group leaders led us away from the buffalo pretty quick after that. It was the most scary and exciting horse-back ride I've ever had! I think Antelope Island and the buffalo are a wonder of Utah. Love it! I would love to go again!

Wow! Look at those amazing photographs! The island and the lake are gorgeous! The men who have the opportunity to herd the buffalo are so lucky! It's unprecedented. It's no wonder that the man from Fort Worth gets excited to come and participate. It must be an amazing experience. The buffalo and all the other wildlife are fantastic, we are fortunate to have them.

Any horse rider/owner can participate in the buffalo roundup for a fee. Contact AI state park for info. This year's round up was Oct 22. I talked to a couple who came in from Colorado Springs. It's not just for men, there were lots of women riding along too. I was one. The standard examiner had a great video on their website of the round up. It was fun, and little scary, my friend's horse almost got knocked over by one of the cows. You can ride close to the herd if you're brave or ride drag at a safe distance and leisurely pace.

You obviously suffer from adventure deficit disorder. There can never be enough wild places and wild critters. Maybe you need to spend a day at Antelope Island.
LDS people believe that the earth was created for our use and enjoyment.
"For the benefit and use of man, both to please the eye and to gladden the heart;
Yea for food and for raiment, for taste and for smell, to strengthen the body and to enliven the soul."

Since this herd started in 1893, its not like the park is joining some new craze. Rounding them up and working with them is the most fun I have all year. The public asks more questions about the bison than anything else. They are enjoyed by many, maybe O boy needs to come see them and he wouldn't wonder why people talk about them. They are truly amazing animals.
