Don't get too happy with the defensive efforts against an inept cellar-dweller team. Air Force will be a much tougher test, as will Utah. Those two games loom large for BYU's defense.

Air Force will be a loss if BYU doesn't penetrate regularly--however they have to do it--and keep Air Force from getting good yards up the middle.

I believe Air Force will pass more against BYU than it has against most of its competition this year. They know BYU will be geared to stop the run, and that its secondary plays soft. Might not be too many long passes, but a lot of short ones are likely to get completed against BYU.

I'm suspicious of this Air Force game because the BYU coaches haven't shown the ability to recognize other teams' weaknesses and strengths, relying more on just what BYU can do or not do. Ya gotta know your competition!

The defense wasn't bad, but:
a) This was a pathetic Sand Diego State team
b) Anyone who watched the game knows they still didn't get many big stops and 3-and outs - the DBs play way to far off the receivers

If you don't believe it, look at time of possession and the # of first downs, they tell a more accurate story. We'll be hard-pressed to win the next two on the road. But I can still hope right?!?!

the cougar defense was improved however, this is a pretty bad SDSU team.If the cougs want to have any chance with Utah, they'll have to get much, much better. TDS will take Air Force easily ( they always do) AFA just doesn't seem to matchup well with them ever.I'v always expected the falcons to give them a game but, they never do.I'm cheering for TDS this week because, I'd like to see the Utes dash their hopes.

I think you can get excited about this. Nobody is calling them world beaters, but the passing O of SDSU is credible.

Hey its just this simple, BYU gets a good effort from the secondary combined with Utah's wonder-which-quarter-we'll-play-in O and BYU wins on Nov. 22.

First things first though...BEAT AIRFORCE

re:blue boy

Are blue cuz Utah just put BYU back in the conference race. Thanks U, we'll take things from here.

Almost as impressive

As New Mexico's wipeout of the Aztecs 70-7. Yet the Lobos followed that up by losing to Air Force on the road.

Trap game for Cougars coming up in Colorado Springs. Watch out!
