I'm so grateful we have physicians and professionals who are NOT AFRAID to come forward on critical health issues - life threatening issues.

I know I cannot expect my children to be healthy living in a contaminated soup of toxic emissions of a coal fired power plant which contain mercury, cadmium, arsenic and other heavy metals. Its time to clean up the environment. We can do better and we will.

Pretty soon clean energy will just be - energy.

For many years Utah never considered the pollution put out by kenicott and the steel mill in lehi. All one heard was we need the jobs. Even the news media kept quiet using fancy phrases to address the "Haze".Recently,of course, much has been done or eliminated.Congratulations to the people that finally saw the light and took action.
Nuclear power | 8:08 a.m. Nov. 8, 2008
Nuclear power generates no waste which adversely affects people. If we built nuclear plants here, we would have cheaper power and cleaner air.

I find it interesting that nobody has commented on the state of our air quality and the implications for human health in Utah. However, there are over 800 comments in the article on proposition 8. It goes to show where many Utahns priorities lie. They do not center around real issues in Utah that affect the health of our families. They center around irrational fears of marriage and what might happen if a change occurs in the narrow view of marriage that constitutes the status quo.

I am encouraged by the outpouring of attention that prop 8 received. I just wish our health and safety could take center stage to religion and irrational fears. Please pay attention to things that will really degrade Utah such as disease caused by poor air quality.

I agree with nuclear power (both the post and the energy source) As information is unveiled about the effects of poor air quality in the state, I hope people will learn about the benefits of clean nuclear power. I believe the lack of public knowledge is still our greatest obstacle to nuclear power and practical, clean, energy.
