Hold your heads up high boys. You had a good season and almost upset one of the best teams in the state. You have a solid team returning next year which will have talent on offense and defense. Congratulations both Burton boys, Karia, Hill, Fowler, both Hinds boys, Cowser, Welk, Lindsey, Waldron, Bybee, t-Car, Lloyd and the rest. Be proud of your accomplishments as a team and your accomplishments as individuals.

Davis County is right. Thanks for repeating what I said before. Gassed starters results in lost games. Davis indeed had a great d that would have been even better if the coaches did not insist playing their stars on both sides of the ball. The offense just did not click this year due to tired lineman playing both ways.

There were good experienced players standing on the sidelines who could have made a big contribution this year if they had been utilized. Some seniors did not play even one SINGLE down the whole season. My hat is off to those who carried such a huge load -- but it was not necessary and Davis lost games because of it.

Hey region1fan....seems a trend in Region 1, with a lot of boys running both sides of the ball. You gotta mix it up some and give them a breather, I agree. Otherwise, come about the end of the 3rd quarter, 'gassed' would be a good term for it.

Will be fun playing Davis again next year. See you on the hardcourt.

Why don't you ask Davis just how good Alta's defense is? While your at it, might as well ask them how good alta's offense is too! Davis was good, but the better defense Friday night was wearing Black, and the better offense was also wearing Black. I guarantee you that Alta's offense will not make the same mistakes that almost cost them the quartefinal game. they had 4 interceptions and three fumbles that they had to overcome! And guess what, THEY DID! Just like I asked a Davis fan on Saturday, if Davis had the better defense, then why when they were up 20-7 at the half did they lose? That's what I thought! The better team won!!! Syracus ibet has not seen an offense like the Hawks all year and as for their defense, Alta's D has carried this team all year, and I don't see them faltering in this game either. You won't see the same Alta team as you did on Friday night!

Amen! Alta's D has done their job week in and week out, mainly without recognition from the media. People that have watched Alta play this year knows why Alta is as superior as they are. We have a great offense too. We the fans know that offense wins games and defense wins championships. We all look forward to the game this week. Go ALTA Congratulations to the three other teams that made it. Great job men.

This week is over....lets skip it and move on tho the finals......Bingham and Alta!

Another note....Cottonwood has been riding the coat tails of the win over Layton, all year......looks like Cottonwood is good, but only as good as Skyline!

i also agree with all the comments about the star lineman going both ways. when davis happens to sub for even a play or two, and the sub makes a mistake, bishop gets mad at the line coach and the tired star goes back in again. idk how they do it all season and have success at it. but when it comes to the big games thers no chance its gonna work. hey true blue why would you even mention the hard court?? i think we beat you by like 30 or 40 plus both games, ouch that hurts.

Hey TBLF, I don't like Layton High too much but I think they are lucky to have you as a fan. Your posts on this site keep me coming back to see your latest. Count me as a NOT TBLF Hater. Keep posting.

The comment about the tired lineman players by AGREED above again is sad but true. I watched this all season long.

I feel so sorry for all those kids who are capable of playing but never get to. All that effort for what? Just so they can say they wore the uniform? Let's stop "conning" kids into that illusion. Just like adults go to work to get paid, boys play so they can PLAY!

High school sport in general and football in particular would be a lot more enjoyable for everyone if all the players were allowed to play routinely. Players and parents would be really happy. Isn't that what every coach wants, happy players and parents?

But nooooooooo! We're so insistent on winning at all costs that nothing else matters. This is an endless cycle of coaches feeling threatened and countless players and parents feeling angry and bitter.

We care more for winning than kids.
