There were good experienced players standing on the sidelines who could have made a big contribution this year if they had been utilized. Some seniors did not play even one SINGLE down the whole season. My hat is off to those who carried such a huge load -- but it was not necessary and Davis lost games because of it.
Will be fun playing Davis again next year. See you on the hardcourt.
Another note....Cottonwood has been riding the coat tails of the win over Layton, all year......looks like Cottonwood is good, but only as good as Skyline!
davis doesnt matter anymore
go hawks!
The comment about the tired lineman players by AGREED above again is sad but true. I watched this all season long.
I feel so sorry for all those kids who are capable of playing but never get to. All that effort for what? Just so they can say they wore the uniform? Let's stop "conning" kids into that illusion. Just like adults go to work to get paid, boys play so they can PLAY!
High school sport in general and football in particular would be a lot more enjoyable for everyone if all the players were allowed to play routinely. Players and parents would be really happy. Isn't that what every coach wants, happy players and parents?
But nooooooooo! We're so insistent on winning at all costs that nothing else matters. This is an endless cycle of coaches feeling threatened and countless players and parents feeling angry and bitter.
We care more for winning than kids.
