Let me get this straight: According to Carol Lear, teachers shouldn't be questioned until they get TWO criminal convictions in a couple of years? Lear and her sidekick Jean Welch Hill don't even bother to look into a criminal conviction unless there is a repeat or threepeat?

""The system is tight but not 100 percent foolproof," she said."

My cactus file said I was a woman teaching at a private school for troubled boys. That isn't what I'd call tight. The file has since been corrected.

That is the current law. If you want it tightened, talk your legislator into sponsoring a bill to change it to one conviction and you don't get a teaching license or whatever you think is appropriate.

Lawyers do not make laws, they defend the laws, isn't that what Attorney General Shurtleff said when he was mad at Lear and Hill for not following his advice about vouchers?
