Portland has the toughest opening schedule of any team in the league. No one is even close. They are without two key starters, and on a young team that makes things even more difficult. Look for Portland's record to get worse before it gets better. We will be below .500 at the end of the year. Then things will change markedly. Look for Portland to have the one of the best post all star game records in the league and be the team with the momentum (and the team no one wants to meet in the playoffs) come April. It's just a matter of time. The early season schedule we have would swallow anyone but the Lakers, Hornets, Celtics or Pistons.
As for the Nuggets... please. Utah wins the division this year, Portland finishes second. Portland will win the division outright beginning in 2009-2010. It's just a matter of time with the team we have.
