I was at the Hurr vs PV game. Both teams gave their all during that game. Myself and other PV fans are rooting for Hurricane to win the 3A title. Their offensive scheme is awesome. If they can keep it working the way I saw it, they can win it all. Their defense is pretty good too.
GO HURRICANE, DON'T LET THE NORTHERN BLOGS GET TO YOU. YOU HAVE A TEAM THAT CAN GO ALL THE WAY.
I like Hurricane's team, and I'm looking forward to this match-up. But I do have to admit, I think the state title game is being played with the Juan Diego-Logan game this Friday. Those teams are both very strong in different ways, and can hurt you in different ways.
Hurricane is something else. They are big, fast, and strong. They are simply too much for Judge. 42-14 Hurricane. Not even a contest.
Of all the 3A quarterfinal matchups, this is the only game where the teams had only one common opponent...Park City traveled to both schools.
Hurricane 31 Park City 0 (Sept 19)
Park City 16 Judge 0 (Oct 3)
The games were played with two weeks of each other.
While Judge has played better in recent weeks, they've fed on the carcasses (Wasatch, Union, Uintah, North Sanpete) of the 3A.
Hurricane has been tested by teams that run (PV, Cedar, Park City) and teams that have gifted passers (VV, MV, SC).
Tigers are at home, they're hungry, and hard to pick against. Hurricane 48 Judge 13 .
don't count judge out just because they struggled in the preseason. they have come together and are playing with a lot of heart. they have the athletes to make it to rice eccles again. GO BULLDOGS
Judge better prepare to sing a whiskey lullaby because hurricane has an extremely good rushing attack that has not been stopped yet this year. they also have an aggressive and fast defense, especially with that #54 out there, that linebacker is really fun to watch. they will be really tough to beat at home as well.
go get em tigers!
Get at them tigers show them what should have happened a couple years ago...
remember last year when it was all about cedar? and that they were gonna be the state champions, the best team in 3A... well judge went down there and owned that team. no contest. so don't count judge out.
except judge had a way better team and barely lost two close games before that so they were 3rd in region. and that cedar team was also very overrated.
but you do have a point, judge will bring it, they better just hope its enough against these tigers.
i don't remember anyone saying or even thinking that cedar was the best team last year or that they would win state. i recall noone even caring about that game or either team because there were much better teams in 3a. not a very accurate postthere remember when
Cedar was ranked in the top 5 most of the time last year but no one picked us to win it all! Then Judge came to town in the quarters, some of us under-estimated them and they kicked our butts!
But that was LAST YEAR! AND IT DON'T MATTER THIS YEAR!
Hurricane won't be looking past them! Count on hurricane being brutal, tenacious and victorious!
Rock on Region 9
Agree totally with you Judge got in with subpar teams none of which are still around. They have the talent their offense has really struggled this year all the way around from line on down. Hurricane is strong see Hurricane in this match up unless Judge shows something different than they have all season but doubtful.
I believe the head sports writer for the DNews, Ashton Aragon, predicted Cedar to win it all.
It would be great to see Hurricane bring the State title to Southern Utah. They have a talented team that is strong and determined. I think this could be their year. GO TIGERS!
Region 11 is the best region in 3A as shown by their 6 consecutive titles and going to grab another with a strong morgan team and a very strong Logan team still alive, so all this arguing about cedar and hurricane and judge is a waste worry about basketball cause you're season is shortly over give it a week.
i wished that you could put the pads back on and relive your glory days too! but you cant so get you mind out of the past and give the teams down south the credit they deserve. Hurricane has shown up to play every week and the will continue to do so. I just hope that your boys are there to meet us at rice-eccles.
Region 11's success is based on the fact that they have the three largest schools in their region. Logan has been very good, but let's face it--they really fudged their numbers to avoid playing their Cache half-sisters (Sky View and Mtn. Crest) on a regular basis.
I'm not from Region 11 but predict both Logan and Morgan will win this weekend. I predict Hurricane and Park City will win as well.
Hurricane will have there JV on the field by the second half like 90% of all there games.I have watched Hurricane take the kneel down and not run the score up on most of the games.
Who says I'm from Morgan or Logan I'm just stating the facts, logan has only been in the region for three of those years. Yes Logan is the biggest 3A school but who else from region 11 is even on the upper half of the population numbers. You've got grantsville and morgan that are the two smallest schools in 3A right along with Ben Lomand who's pretty far down on the list. Bear River is somewhere in the middle and Ogden who is on the upper end. Morgan could switch back and forth from 3A to 2A on a consistent basis year to year, but yet they're always somwhere near the top. It's great that the southern teams are doing good. you're right hurricane is good but they can't compete with the northern schools. They're just like the Pine View of a few years ago, they can get there but can't finish
