This is appallingly poor stewardship. Draper officials stab their own citizens in the back while declaring their allegiance to UTA and Envision Utah. This is the new paradigm, seen elsewhere in northern Utah, of laziness, visionary ineptitude, and FAUX-representation.

These people took a jaunt, paid by UTA, to see a transit oriented design community in Dallas. A few weeks back one Draper Councilman gushed how similar Draper's new TOD would be the the Dallas one: Everyone knows how similar the two cities are, demographically.

But,when deciding on the TRAX extension to their city, these miscreants would not bother to ride the bus, walk along the corridor, or even look at the nearly-always empty bus as a clue to the foolishness of a $1/4 billion rail replacement. But they can take long trips paid by UTA to envision Draper doing Dallas.

They might also have noted the way UTA is building ridership on FrontRunner. Most of the riders get massive discounts off the $2100 annual cost...thousands ride FREE!

They stab their own citizens in the back by allowing this monster development that will horribly impact nearby homewowners. This is all part of the drug-induced EnvisionUtah bad dream....Government crushing people!

WOW

Once again Draper City Council has represented themselves. The gadiantons, the secret combinations, the love of money, were you paid off? Of course what a stupid question. There is always something in it for a government that is not listening to the citizens, and out and out doing what serves them. One thing about it Draper Council you do serve yourself well.....

Because we all know...

That nothing makes for a great perpetual open space than an area that's been used as a dumping ground!

Does Everything...

...have to be a conspiracy?? I can understand if you don't agree with someone but knock off the nasty, personal, unsubstantiated accusations.

This type of uncivil dialoge is the biggest problem in our country.

I see this as a huge benefit to the quality of life in Draper. People will be able to live close to businesses and transit without being forced to drive, saving them countless hours of being trapped in cars.

People will be able to see their friends and have social gatherings in public spaces that everyone can walk to, instead of being separated by miles and miles of culdesacs. People will be able to make new friends by building real communities where people see each other instead of being walled off by distance.

Some people will even be able to do without their cars entirely, removing the anvils from their necks and saving thousands of dollars a year that they can spend on better things.

The quality of life improvements are incredible, and I'm glad Draper made this decision.
