Oh heck ya. who said the Rebel dynasty was coming to a close. Who said the southern teams where gonna take it again this year? Man the South will never come over Rich again, and the dynasty will never come to an end. Rich will always dominate the court in volleyball. Sweeping the oh so great panguitch, or more like killing them.

Re: Anonymous @ 8:59 a.m. You know what being a true champion means that you win with dignity. There is no dignity in your comments. They are down right rude and have no place coming from a Rich fan. Be proud that your team won....but don't drag down another team doing it.
Congratulations Lady Rebels on a great season! I was proud to be at the tournament and watch you bring the trophy home again! Good job Panguitch! You fought hard to the finish and will be back strong again next year.
RE: Disappointed Rebel Fan | 3:08 p.m. Nov. 2, 2008
Thanks for that comment. I am from Pangutich, but Rich was just the better team. I have to give the Rich team credit for what they did. Volleyball is definitely Rich's dominate sport. Great job to both Panguitch and Rich.

Who in the heck told Miles in Portland to mind his own business. His sister just won state and was the by far MVP doing it and she definately took the whole game into her hands with the attitude and there was no looking back. The way impressive game was the Piute game. Piute ran into an Allie buzz saw that they could do nothing about but get out of the way. Good to hear from you Miles! Your sis rocks!
?? | 8:35 a.m. Nov. 3, 2008
Good Job to the Rich Volleyball team! They are an awesome team! I was very disappointed in your crowd though. Turning your backs while the Panguitch team is being announced. That is just poor sports. And some of the cheers you did during the game. It makes me want rich to never win. So maybe you should get ahold of yourselves and think a little about sportsmanship! Way to go Panguitch! It was a good season! RICH CROWD. . . LEARN SOMETHING ABOUT SPORTSMANSHIP~!

just an opinion, but, i think that you're just jealous that the rich student body is full of school spirit. i mean really, did you see how pumped they were? did you see the pang town crowd? boring!there was only like 15 kids there, and a couple of them graduated last year.
the rebel fanz rock!
eagles | 10:12 a.m. Nov. 3, 2008
haha. wow i think i've heard it all now. somebody from panguitch lecturing others about sportsmanship? that is the perfect example of the pot calling the kettle black. Also turning your backs when the opposing team is announced is something that millions of people do every saturday at college football games and also at basketball games. I consider it more common procedure than poor sportsmanship. Lastly, as someone from Rich's region I can tell you that they are good sports when it comes to winning and losing.
Rebel Fan | 10:13 a.m. Nov. 3, 2008
O please. You are just jealous because our crowd is freaking amazing. We like to support out school. Go Rich!!!
Great Team | 10:20 a.m. Nov. 3, 2008
Rich...your state championship was very impressive!! The ease that you glided through the state tournament, including the championship game, showed your dominance. However, your studentbody section was less than champions. I'm very disgusted in the way the cheering section behaved. And even more disgusted that there wasn't some administrator controlling the actions and cheers of these students.

No doubt that your team was by far the best team in the championship game. Panguitch was dominated & never really got started. This wasn't because Panguitch had a bad game, it was because Rich was that much better. Your team did the talking on the court, they didn't need the poor sportsmanship in the crowd to take away from the game. Now there is something to talk about other than how great the team was......next time, cheer for your team and leave the rude comments about the other team out!!!
#1 Manager | 10:29 a.m. Nov. 3, 2008
Rich, I love watching you guys play. All of you are amazing. I would not be the manager for any other team. You guys rock!!!Thanks for the great season and I look forward to watching you guys next year.

You hit the nail right on the head. The Rich fans should be ashamed. They were definitely ignorant. I to will never look at Rich the same way. I used to have respect for them, but not any more.

1A fan | 11:19 a.m. Nov. 3, 2008
I agree with ??. Rich, i gotta hand it to ya, you rocked the tournament. But as for your fans, they were beyond rude. I have watched plenty of championship games with Rich in them and every time i have been disappointed with their fans. Last year in the State championship basketball game, I sat and watched the boys harrass the Piute basketball players as they did layups. This year at the volleyball tournament I was down right disgusted when I heard their crowd chant "She's a Freshman" The freshman is good, but theres no need for rude comments. Maybe the crowd should show a little more class like their volleyball players. Congrats Rich, and good job to all the teams in the tournament this year.
re: ?? | 11:34 a.m. Nov. 3, 2008
Your comments are unfounded! Maybe we should show sportsmanship like Panguitch did and not even show up for the girls even though you knew they had a very tough championship game with Rich. You guys only want to support when you think you may win it. So did you want our football team to stay home and not suppport the girls? Of course Panguitch is and always does show better sportsmanship! Yeah right. Pot, Kettle, Black!!!!
jealous | 11:41 a.m. Nov. 3, 2008
Being ignorant and disrespectful is down right ridiculous. There is spirit with class. Rich fans you showed no class Friday night. I have no respect for that attitude and you should be ashamed.
haha | 12:41 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
haha. this is funny. all these panguitch people think anybody from rich actually cares about what they think of them. don't you get it? we don't care!
1A Fan | 12:56 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
Rich you are definatly a GREAT team! You deserved to win and as a team should be proud...

On the other hand, your fans should have a little talk to... Turning your backs was just half of the issues... The chants and cheers AGAINST Panguitch's girls were terrible! You didn't just cheer against the team but against girls specifically! It was ridiculous and not only hurtful to the Panguitch girls but to your Rich team as well! Rich deserved to win and deserved to be proud! I wouldn't be proud if my crowd tore the other team down like that! Maybe next time you will try harder to be better sports!

It is unfortunate that there are sometimes a SMALL amount of fans that create bad reputations for teams as far as sportsmanship is concerned, unfortunately the ENTIRE student body crowd helped with the chants tearing down the Panguitch girls Saturday night...

All in all, good job Panguitch and good job Rich! Panguitch- hold your heads up high! 2nd place at state is something to be proud of and is a great accomplishment as well!
??? | 1:01 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
You are right, the Rebel fans did get carried away with a few of the chants, but most of them were in fun and with great school spirit!!! I guess Rebel fans actually dropped their standards to meet the panguitch bobcats. Rebels- come on, we are not like Panguitch. Sorry Panguitch--- how does it feel to get some of you own crap back????
Anonymous | 1:02 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
I can promise you that no matter what you think, no Rich player, fan, or member of the student body will ever feel ashamed of anything that went down last weekend. Complete and utter domination for the team and passionate cheering from the crowd. Quit trying to be a fun-hater, raining on our parade. You got dominated and felt humiliated that your crowd more closely represented one at a golf tournament.
V-Ball Fan | 1:27 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
There is a difference between cheering FOR your team and cheering against another. I am afraid that many of the schools in 1A need a lesson in that!

I feel bad for the Rebel team as they have a lot to be proud of, their crowd let them down by acting that way towards Panguitch's girls!

I think that everyone needs to remember that sportsmanship is something schools should be proud of and expect from their crowd, I wish the UHSAA would set some rules or guidelines for administration in each school to follow! If I was in administration at Rich, I would have held an assembly TODAY to congratulate the team and to let the student body know that it is unacceptable to act that way!
Complaints about Rich fans | 1:29 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
Everyone who is complaining about the Rich fans is simply upset about the fact that we have so much enthusiasm for our team. None of the fans comments were insulting or offensive...they were simply the truth. And to whoever said that the Rich fans are ignorant...do you even know what ignorant means? Ignorant means lacking general education or knowledge...not whatever you implied it to be. Go Rich!!!!!!!!!
Rebels | 1:54 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
Rebels have class!!! Maybe some on the things said weren't the best but it was all done in school spirit. Something the REBELS have a lot of! Panguitch has NO room to talk. They are plenty rude and do a major part of the trash talk! They think they dominate everyone!!! when Rich comes out and gives a great game and their fans are behind them all the way then Panguitch gets mad and says Rebels are rude. The real deal is Panguitch are just a bunch of poor loosers. If it were reversed and Panguitch would have won--- oh believe me, panguitch would be doing some major trash talking about the rebels. The Rebels kept the chanting at the game and thats where it belongs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
to eagles | 2:09 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
We are talking about high school students turning their backs. This is not college. This is not acceptable in high school athletics. Get a clue. How did Duchesne do anyway?
lame | 2:23 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
You guys are so lame. If you want to read something funny go check out the comments after Pang's baseball team got trompled by Wayne. It's basically the same thing. 'You guys have a great team but the sportmanship was terrible and you should all be ashamed'. haha. Grow up. The crowd had spirit and they didn't chant she's a freshman to be rude, they are just proud to have such a dominant player for the next three years. You people are so pathetic. Get over it. YOU LOST. Why can't you just be gracious losers. You always have to rain on peoples parades after they humiliate you. I think you're just embarrassed that Rich had such amazing support that it made you look really quite pathetic.
get over it | 2:27 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
This is hilarious! I promise no one from Rich is even remotely close to being ashamed of anything that happened last weekend. Panguitch should be ashamed that they forgot to show up for the championship match! Rich got a better game out of Monument Valley! haha
just sayin | 2:33 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
Wow you Panguitch people sure are tender-hearted. Must be why you won't play football.
:( | 2:34 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
Does anyone else hear the world smallest violin? haha. grow up. you lost....bad. calling us names won't change that.
this just in | 2:39 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
what's funny is if the shoe were on the other foot and it was panguitch doin all the "rude" chants nobody from Rich would care. A: because they're just cheers from a student body. B: (and this is the big one that might shock some of you) we just don't care what you think of us. It's not worth it. Sorry.
Don't complain....Raise your gam | 2:45 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
Three comments......

1.) Rich does have a stronger fan base. Students and adults outnumbered Panguitch 3 to 1. This has been a trend now for several years. Panguitch fans are spoiled, and the fun of playing in championship games have lost it's community flavor. If your looking for a fan support award....Rich wins hands down.

2.) Both Rich and Panguitch have proud tradtions. Rich has treated Panguitch in Volleyball the same way Panguitch has treated them in basketball.

3.) The Rich studentbody section was loud, energetic, and at times down right rude. But hey, I'm not complaining....if this doesn't motivate Norris and the girls to work harder and be better so they can pay you back, nothing will. It's one thing to be embarrassed on the court (which we were), but quite another to be harrassed and made fun of in the crowd. Maybe our play deserved it, let's make sure it doesn't happen again. Thanks Rich, maybe you lit a fire!!!!

----------------------------------------------------

Do you even know what ignorant means? From your usage I take it as no. Rich played amazing...Panguitch did not....Rich fans were amazing...Pang's were almost non-existant...we won...you lost....MOVE ON!
Rebel Fan | 2:48 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
I didn't always agree with what our studentbody was saying, however, Panguitch....maybe you could take a page from our book about being a good fan. I watched several of your fans (who had the name Burningham on the back of their shirt.) beg members of your crowd to stand up and cheer with them. You guys all sat there like bumps on a log. It was obvious there wasn't much spirit in your crowd. Its easy to cheer your team on when you are winning....but a true fan cheers for their team all the time.....win or lose.
I seriously don't know which is worse to be a bit overzealous like the Rich crowd was Saturday or to just sit there like you don't care like the Panguitch crowd did.
Rebel Fanz | 3:06 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
The players, coaches, managers, and fans have something to be proud of. A championship game and a trophy to admire, rightfully earned, doubly deserved, memories made... however, we were saddened by some of the choices made in the student section. We hope that everyone can be polite and gracious to our opponents and then hit them where it hurts... on the field or on the court. Show some respect. Cheer FOR YOUR players but never belittle anyone. Congrats Ladies! Mission accomplished!
I thought you didn't care | 3:07 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
Rich....I thought you didn't care what Panguitch thought? Sounds like the Panguitch crowd is getting the better of you now. I'm enjoying watching & reading two schools beat up on each other. I wonder what they do in Rich & Garfield counties when sports aren't going on? Poor poor simple folk!
Re. Rebels | 3:07 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
If you can't remember, last year Panguitch won the State title and did so using nothing but class. Our team is nothing but class and it starts with a classy head coach. Win or lose we will show class.
Panguitch | 3:30 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
JUST FOR THE RECORD. RICH DID NOTHING DIFFERENT THAN THEY DO AT ALL BIG GAMES!!! Just feel impresssed that they got that into it. Have you ever been to a game at Cokeville, wyoming? They love and support their girls too! Have you ever been to a big game with 5A and 4A schools? They love their girls too. The boys were not near as loud as they were with Morgan. It is all in fun. Have you ever been to a college volleyball game? Come on! Get into the game and enjoy it. Panguitch is just upset that they all did not even come to the game. Where was YOUR CROWD!!!! You are the ones that should have had an assembly and cuss out the kids for only showing up for events you think you are going to win.
Troy Norris | 3:32 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008
As I read these blogs, the thought that comes to mind is, how sad it is that we say Panguitch this or Rich that. As far as I am concerned the people in the two communities are very very similar. I spend a week at Bear Lake every year and just love the people I come in contact with. Some of the best people you would find anywhere live in these two communities. I have all of the respect in the world for Rich volleyball. If it wasn't for there great program we, Panguitch wouldn't be where we are. I mentioned this last year after we took state. I would like to thank my girls for their hardwork and just for being fantastic young ladies. They really had fun this year and I am very proud of how well we did. It is never fun to lose, but I thought they handled it with dignity. I look forward to future great games between Panguitch and Rich, and more importantly love and respect for one an other. Through sports we learn life lessons, and it should start with respecting others and this goes for both sides.
