Riverton, I wanted to be wrong. I really did. Work hard in the post-season and off-season. Maybe you can take that next step in '09 and get past the first round.
Good luck.
Way to go Riverton. Another first round playoff loss. Maybe one of these years you'll get your first ever playoff win. Until then, quit talkin like you're going to walk over everyone. Just show us. ???
It was nothing more than getting beat by a better team.
If Fowler completes passes to the fight team like he did against Rivertin and Hinds get's rolling and the D continues to show up big, Davis can beat Alta. Go get em boys. Go Darts.
This is so our school. After winning the volleyball region title, one of our best players said "i would rather win a region title than win on senior night". That is probably our problem. The football talks big all week but can't win a first round game at home. Maybe we should set our goals a little higher than winning region and the banners we put up for that. Until we get a big one, nothing matters. Lone Peak has been around not quite as long as us and they have state titles already. I love my school but we need to change our way of looking at things!
Davis looked good yesterday. Welk and Hinds had great games.
Hay Big Surprise, if you have nothing good to say about our program then don't say anything. I am sick of people hidding behing words BE A MAN put your name on the article. wont that be a BIG SURPRISE.
Good game Darts, you looked solid on D as usual and the O started clicking. A couple lucky breaks on O but overall it was a great game. It took a little time to get used to how Riverton played, it wasn't like anything the Darts have seen this year. Riverton looked very disciplined to me, it seems like the program has a lot of potential. Good win Darts!
Although Gavin Fowler is prone to making Sophomore mistakes(Clip), a tougher kid you won't find. He takes shots and keeps on getting up. His grit and fire make thinks happen. Keep up the great job Gavin. This team can go all the way if they put all aspects of the game together in every game. They have a solid QB, Welk is one of the best receivers in the state and Hinds in one of the top RB's in the state. The O-line needs to execute more consistently and as always we know our D will show up. Go Darts.
Now bring on Alta
Great job Davis coaching staff. You called a great game on both sides of the football.
Don't despair Riverton - didn't you win the 4th grade Ute LEague championship - come on i want to hear about your vaunted youth league champions!!!
you parents have no clue - but watch out in 2016
Don't take things the wrong way. I love our school and support every team and activity but we have good enough students and athletes to do better than we are. We have about the biggest student body in the state but seldom get far when the state playoffs come around. I will continue to support but would like to see us get even farther. Set our goals loftier. Placing 1st or 2nd in a weak region is not enough anymore. Anyone else agree or am I crazy?
Riverton was awesome in region play, except for one game, we tore it up against Hillcrest and Tville, and we made playoffs again. Everthing is peachy cream. Not! Quit patting yourself on the back long enough to reflect honestly. You won't get our names because we still have boys in the program and are not about to let the coaches take it out on them. Be a man yourself and do something to change that patsy pre-season schedule so our boys get a real evaluation before our weak season. Substance will win out over fluff every time.
First off, great win DHS! I'm an LHS fan and love seeing Region 1 schools did what they did in the first round. Keep playing tough D and good things will happen.
Now the funny story! I heard a DHS fan punched out another DHS fan after yelling not so good things at the coaching staff!! Ha Ha Ha I love it old man! We need fans like you to every HS game where the little league parents think they know something! The funny thing is I guarantee those dumb parents and fans will be smart and steer clear of your presence next week! Ha Ha i love it!
To the moderator of this board my comments were not abusive in any way nor were they off topic or offensive I answered coach B directly Why not try some thing new like freedom of speech and post my comments I would like to hear his response and what he has to say
Unless Davis has the ability to put up 30pts or more, you won't beat Alta! I don't see that happening against one of the best defenses in the state! And for Alt'a offense, it's a working machine! They will score points on you! I see this being another blowout in favor of the Hawks. See if you can get some pointers from Viewmont on how to stop the Alta offense. The Hawks will roll to another post season win!
I would Davis has the best D in region one they will have there hands full this weekend
Yes indeed LHS fan. It's not right that parents yell and harrass the coaches during games. It shows no class at all. If I see it or hear it I stop it right away. It's terrible for the program and hard on the kids trying to win games when parents yell and scream at coaches. The fact is, most coaches will forget more about football in 1 day than a parent will know in a lifetime. A parents role should be to support the program in public. If you have an issue with the way a coach plays your kid, manages the clock, play calling or whatever, man up and go talk to the coach face to face in a responsible, respectful manner. I'm not sure I have ever heard of a High School showing up at a parents office parking lot and screaming "you are a terrible Accountant". We should show the same respect to coaches.
Riverton puts up the few region titles and summer baseball championships because that is the best they feel they can do. It's too bad, because who cares who wins the region if you can not win the ultimate prize? I think it is funny that "Coach B" wants the students to post their names, yet he is unwilling to post anything but "Coach B". Why, if you are a coach, are you even worried about what is posted here anyway? I'm guessing that is one of the reasons the Silverwolves need all of those region banners up in their gym. I have watched Riverton play many times, and have yet to see the toughness it takes to win championships. The only team with a chance at that school is Coach Applegates baseball team. At least they play hard nosed and are passionate about their sport!!!!!
