I said that Kearns my (sic) just run over Syracuse's vaunted defense didn't I? Could I have been more wrong? Syracuse fans, your team earned you bragging rights on this one. Let's see it.
Kearns, sorry to see you lose like this.
Syracuse, congrats.
Kearns gave up some huge plays allowing Syr to break their single game scoring record. Syr played well, but I also attribute Kearns to laying over. They did not play well at all. Syr will have to play match that intensity to win next week, that is for sure.
And I thought you said Region 1 didn't have any offense and the defense only appeared strong because of the lack of Offense? Great job Titans, take it to Pleasant Grove!
Realist... anything to say about the offense now? if not i dont blame you i would feel pretty stupid too
you beat KEARNS!!!!
whoa!
How'bout them Titans. In only their second year, the Titans take second in Region 1 and win their first playoff game. PG will be tough but The'Cuse is ready. Congrats to Coach Jones, Arquette, Farber and the rest of the coaches and players. This is the year to Remember the TITANS.....
Titan Fan, yes I said that. I'm not making excuses for Kearns. They simply lost. Syracuse's win over a short-handed Kearns team hasn't changed my mind on my opinion that Region 1 has the weakest offenses in 5A, either. The reason or reasons don't matter. If Syracuse can beat Pleasant Grove next week, I'll start to rethink that stand. If they lose but keep PG from running up the score I might rethink it. Syracuse has made an outstanding turnaround from last year and I have to congratulate them for that achievement, regardless of the outcome of their game at Pleasant Grove.
SHS, I don't feel stupid. I simply stated how I thought the game would go, and was wrong. It happens. No shame in admitting it.
Never underestimate our boys, they have proven they can match with the biggest!!! And they are tough as heck!!!! Not to mention tho they didn't win last year with only jrs and soph (some 9th gr even) they don't back down and got first downs and scores then....so you never know, they are the bomb!!!!!!!!
GO TITANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cant wait for a showdown next friday with you guys. Should be a fun game! I hear your linebackers are studs? Hopefully we get our key players healthy!!!
"Listen to me clowns if you know what is good for you, you won't get your hopes up. Don't let it burn too hard when you pull up the story next week, and on the comments you read "I told you so." I hope you are all man enough to show your faces here next week.
Rember this, I never said that I was against the Titans, I just tell it how it is.
Yours truly
-"The" Realist"
Wow you really do know football. I love how you tell us to show our faces when we're wrong, but you dont have the guts to do the same. Unless that is you hiding behind that Anonymous name. You do know that you look like a total idiot. GO TITANS!1111
If we have all of our guys healthy it won't be a contest. We killed Brighton shorthanded. I know what their record was, don't get me wrong, but it's the same as Kearns...
Good Luck, and with enough of it, you guys might get close :)
I think there are tell tale signs of a championship team and in my opinion Syracuse has them. This does not necessarily mean that they will win the title this year but it does mean that it is has been a great story to watch this season.
Experienced Leadership - This same team were starters last year.
Team Defense - SYR defense has kept them in every game this year. Not one team blew them out.
Steady Playmaking - Every kid on the field plays every down. There are no superstars that go 50% when the ball is not coming their way.
Clutch Performance -TJ (RB/Safety) and Braden (QB) make plays when they have too.
Championship Strategist - Russ Jones is experienced and this is a strength of his.
Syracuse has already achieved some impressive things this year and I would recommend that any team facing them take them seriously if they expect a win.
Syracuse you out coached and out played Kearns good job. This is the same old Kearns first round loss what happen to the best coach from TEXAS? What will happen next year with all those Kearns players gone I guess if you cannot get past the first round with the most talented team Kearns has had what will happen next year when you will have to really coach???
SOUNDS LIKE A DISGRUNTLED PARENT OR UTE CONFERENCE COACH. TURNOVERS (4 FUMBLES AND 1 INT.) NOT COACHING IS WHAT HAPPENED TO KEARNS AGAINST SYRACUSE. THE STAFF AT KEARNS HAD THE PLAYERS READY TO PLAY. IT IS JUST UNFORTUNATE THAT TURNOVERS ALWAYS PLAY A BIG PART IN WINNING AND LOSING. I'M A LONG TIME KEARNS FAN. JUST REMEMBER THE YEARS BEFORE THE TEXAS COACH GOT TO KEARNS. KEARNS LOST 40 GAMES IN 5 YEARS, REMEMBER ESPN REPORT.
Hey, no need to hide your name behind blogs or even email or phone calls. Just call up Coach Cosper and make an appointment to have a face-to-face discussion on your opinion. He's a BIG guy and even BIGGER is his football knowledge. Then post back here and let us know how that worked out for you. I'm guessing you're a disgruntled parent and poor Johnny didn't get the playing time you wanted or you're a wanna be coach. Or just be your typical coward self and hide behind blogs! Coach Cosper is a great coach and he's doing a great job with the kids and he is very well respected by his community and his peers. Go Cougs!! You had a great season!
Ok I admite I was not at the game I did get some of my out coach and out played through the papers. But did you forget that before Cosper there was a coach in there that one a few games and lost the first round also? That is the same Kearns out in the first round that class you had won in little league and if you look around the valley Alta last year they won it all in little league and won the state Bingham little league wins all games and is always high in the state they all get out of the first round.East is the same way.So if the talent is there you should be able to win. Yes you did win a home coming game but in 2003 Kearns beat Granger then and lost first round typical coaches can not take the heat. I do say they Kids played hard and give it to them they had a great season but I would like to see Kearns get out of the first round like we did.
You said Kearns was out Coached...we all know the Kearns coaches didn't setup plays to fumble the ball 4 times and throw an interception! That has nothing to do with being out coached!!!! I like the suggestion above for you to just go have a heart-to-heart conversation w/ the coach. Your comment, "what will happen next year when you really have to coach?" That statement just shows your ignorance. It's easy to hide behind blogs and email and throw out statements to try and make yourself feel better. Why attack the Coaches when you have no basis? Only reason I can find is you're disgruntled as stated above or you're a wanna be coach! So sad for you! Coach Cosper is building a great program in more ways than on the field.
That's the problem. The Kearns players also read the papers. They have been told for so many years that they can't compete. You have no idea the difference in the school since Coach Cosper arrived. It takes time to build a program. Why don't you ask the players & students from the school what they think of the coach?Seems to me they are what matters. If you knew Coach Cosper you would realize his passion is helping prepare these young men for life not just football. Each year the program has improved.I feel Kearns is very fortunate to have someone that truly cares about these boys.
