That's too bad about the zoo - it has been a dishonest campaign from the start. What people don't already know or understand, is that we are already being taxed in numerous other areas to pay for the zoo. They no more need 33 million dollars additionally than fly to the moon! The aviary, on the other hand, is a different issue. They are in need of funding and, while I don't care for birds or the aviary myself, I can see why this would be important. However, the zoo is sucking us dry, and the whole "renew the zoo" campaign makes it sound as if it won't be around or will be shut down if we don't vote yes to this - NOT TRUE!!!! We are already paying and being taxed for the zoo! Please - vote no on the zoo - yes for the aviary!
I haven't been to the zoo for ten years but I'm cool with paying ten bucks a year for some new polar bears. Whats the big deal lady (jacksmom). Of course we're already being taxed. They just want to add more. Its worth it for me for a bunch of little kids to get excited about animals in real life instead of on T.V.
Sorry Mr. Jones...I did not get polled and I did not vote for Horiuchi and when I was standing in line 5 other people told me they were not on board with the career politican
The real vote hasn't come in yet and only around 425 people out of over 20,000 were even polled with a ridiculous statistical error of 4.25%. Good try Deseret News at trying to push two candidates and their tax increases...but sorry you don't win. We'll know how THE PEOPLE and not the pollsters feel come Tuesday.
I too, didn't get polled and voted for DeBry.
Considering the teh SL Tri Poll had Debry ahead of Houriuchi, just a few days ago. I think the Council race is very close.
If you look at the Tribune poll that was taken over a week ago with a large undecided, and you look at the fact that the Deseret News poll was concluded last night it is logical to conclude that the undecideds have fallen to Councilman Horiuchi... good for them ...
as for the votes you have already cast... i am sure they will be counted with all the other that have been and will be cast for Randy.
In all fairness to Pollster Jones, He has been doing this for a very long time. He has demonstrated a particular expertise in reasonably reflecting the mood of the public... if he did not he would be quickly out of business.... as experience is important in the polling buisness, it is important in other things.... like being a county councilman.
I too have been disappointed by polls in the past... i too have gnashed my teeth when the wind did not blow my way... but hey fellas... thats how it goes.
I voted for Councilman Horiuchi. I hope the majority of Salt Lake County Voters will too or already have.
