Hey anonymous; Is you first name "Tonto"
Coach Sloan | 12:15 p.m. Oct. 29, 2008
Is the best coach in the NBA, and one of the best in history. We should all be grateful for what he's done for the Jazz. It's easy to identify the people who don't know a thing about basketball, they're the ones who are always thinking someone else would be a better coach and the Jazz should get rid of the coach. On the other hand people who understand the game, and know how things work in the NBA all support coach Sloan 100%. Keep him until he retires, I'd hate to have to play against him coaching another team!

Yes, he is Mr. Consistent, "consistently" boring!!! The Jazz are the most predictable offensive and defensive teams in the entire league. A team like the Lakers will have them for a snack this year...

I agree with the Brilliant mind above, the Jazz
are boring, very boring to watch. For a guy who is
supposed to be a defensive minded coach, I have never
seen that with his players on the court. I will say
once again until the Jazz management step up and
get some new blood on the coaching staff the Jazz
will never win a championship with this guy. In fact
Jerry has got to lead the league with first round
exits.Cmon DAVID Locke look that stat up.
Todd | 2:28 p.m. Oct. 29, 2008
Jerry Sloan has been to the playoffs as the Jazz' coach 22 times. 13 of those times he's gotten out of the first round. That's not too shabby.
Re: JZ | 2:32 p.m. Oct. 29, 2008
No, I would think that title belongs to Don Nelson, who has NEVER taken his team to the Finals and has made only two trips to a conference final.
K-man | 2:49 p.m. Oct. 29, 2008
It's good to see a nice puff peace on ol Jerry Sloan. Too bad no one out of our fine state will give him the respect he deserves. He has done a remarkable job and deserves to win COY honors at least once. Now if he can only motivate the boys to play some defense...

This guy the best coach for Utah, we have been spoil, I'm glad to be a long time jazz fan since 87, I been bless to be a broncos fan where shanny been coach forever as well.
Wow! 17 Times in playoffs | 4:55 p.m. Oct. 29, 2008
they made it to the NBA Finals under Sloan. With the players that Jazz Fans call the greatest, Karl Malone and John Stockton. Need I remind you that they came away with NOTHING!!!
Jazzsmack | 6:50 p.m. Oct. 29, 2008
They made to finals after 15 years of trying with supposedly 2 of the greatest 50 players of all time.

They lose in the playoffs bercause they have never had the right players to win a championship.

( that and because of their predictability)

And overachieveing just means you will get worse draft pick than you really ought to.

Championships just don't happen,

not because you wished of hoped hard and long enough,
not because it's your turn,
not because you waited one more year,

You have make them happen and you have to have the right players.

The jazz have good players, nice players , hard workers, and even some depth

so they can win lot games,

Why do think certain teams keep winning championships? Becasue they go get the players you need.

while the jazz get the leftovers like a brevein knight, or a broken down Hornacek.

While the celtics have the courage to trade jefferson for garnett

lakers trade for gasol, kobe, shaq, kareem, a pick from jazz that became magic

pistons trade for rasheed wallace, ben wallace

houston trades for drexler,

chicago trades for pippen, grant

sixers for trade dr j, moses malone

championships don't happen

I don't know if you knew this, but they ended up losing both of those Finals to THE greatest player to ever play the game. And who did they SWEEP the second time around to get there?! Oh yeah, Shaq and Kobe and the LAKERS!!! So get off your high horse and shut your big mouth. And for trading, I do believe that the Jazz traded Giricek or Korver. And I'm pretty sure they ended up with the BEST record in the NBA following the big major trades, yes, even better than the LA LAKERS and Gasol. Thanks.

Jazzsmack- do you realize that the Utah Jazz play in Salt Lake? Or maybe you do not. No top NBA player wants to play in Salt Lake. You think Dwight Howard or Kobe will give Utah a sniff when their contracts are up? Even if the Jazz offered the max?

What Utah should do is start changing coaches a lot. Then they could do what the Maloof brothers have done to the kings. The Jazz would be in the lottery forever if Jerry Sloan was not their coach.
Salt Lake should thank their lucky stars THEY ARE IN THE NBA.

Jazzsmack: Do you consider yourself a Utah Jazz fan?

Sounds to me like you should be cheering for one of the media-darling franchises that pulls off these high-profile trades you like so much. This franchise never has been like that, and probably never will be. That's kind of what this whole article is about.

I bet if you found another team to follow, you'd be a lot happier. We all would.
