Comments about ‘High school football: Riverton locks down 2nd place, will finally host a playoff game’

Riverton has hosted a playoff game before, I believe it was 2003? They lost to Davis 21-14. Get your facts straight before you post it.

The kids at Riverton have done a great job. I wish them the best going forward. I just want to give them some advice going forward. Dont listen to the media or those who say you cant beat so and so. The only ones who need to believe in you are sitting next to you in that locker room. You know how hard you have worked and now it is time to rise up, pull together and make a run. Dont ever surrender make those who you face going forward truly take it from you. Just believe in your selves and in a few weeks we will see you at the U.

Is this your first time reading or posting a comment on high school message boards? Reporters for high school rely on ??? for their information. There are always inconsistencies and wrong information in their reports. That's why you shouldn't get your panties in a knot if there is some wrong information. Big deal that Riverton has or has not hosted a playoff game. Let's hope they can actually WIN a playoff game. That's what's important!!

Riverton, you got lucky against Kearns and Hunter, you'll be lucky to make it out of the first round! You know you aren't anywhere NEAR as good as Bingham and Alta so you reveal your ignorance and accuse them of recruiting. Turn in those pads and get ready for basketball.
Reporters for high school rely on the schools for their information. It's not their fault Riverton can't do that right either.

I can second "All the Facts's" comments. I was there when we hosted Davis in the first round of the playoffs. Disappointing... But this year's the year! Go Silverwolves!

Great job, Coach Miller and the Riverton coaching staff. Mike Miller is a quality coach who does things the right way with class and integrity. I know there a lot of coaches who are that way in the state, but as far as I'm concerned, as a coach, as a person, no one is above Mike Miller. Go Wolves!

Coach Miller was my coach at Olympus High School. Riverton is lucky to have him as their coach. I wish he was still at Olympus. Great man, Great coach.

How can you assert that Region 3 is the weakest region?.When we have Bingham, a number 2 in the state? I know you are from Alta? But realistically isn't region 1 the cupcake region in 5A! I mean Layton couldn't beat Bingham, and I doubt Syracuse could beat Riverton! Here is to hoping PG kicks your humble butt, Alta!

We all know Bingham is tough and that you're from Riverton, but after them there is NOTHING and Riverton won't even get by Region 1's number three team. Bingham beats all of their region opponents with much ease, so other than Bingham what do you have? Nada, therefore the weakest region.

I cant believe Hunter lost against Riverton. But Riverton had a good game. I wonder what happened to Hunter? But I hope Hunter could win their game this friday. Their JV team is really good though. I hope next year would be good for Hunter. And thanks Riverton, you just showed Hunter how much heart it takes to really "want to win" a game.

Riverton lets face it... you guys have the easiest region in the whole state, you dont play anyone, so it seems that you guys are so good. you boys wouldnt last in region 2. you would probably barley make the playoffs. You wont get past the first round beacuse once you actually play some one worth anything you loose.

"Region 2", you claim that Region 3 is "the easiest in the state" but don't back it up with any facts. Let's look at a comparison of Region 2 vs. Region 3 this year. 15 games played, 9 wins by Region 3 to 6 by Region 2. 408 points scored by Region 3 teams compared to 261 scored by Region 2 teams.
I know what you're going to say, Alta hasn't lost to anyone in Utah this year. Be that as it may, you're claiming that ALL of Region 2 is better than ALL of Region 3. The facts don't support that. In head-to-head games, Region teams 3 have outscored Region 2 teams by a total of 147 points and won 60% of the games.
Let's take a quick look at Riverton against Region 2, since you claim that Riverton would barley (sic) make the playoffs if playing in Region 2.
Riverton-57, Taylorsville-15
Riverton-49, Hillcrest-14
Riverton-22, Jordan-29.
Hmm, 2-1 record. Two blowout wins by Riverton and a close game against Jordan. If Riverton avoids an upset against Davis, we'll see how they'll do against Alta. Sorry Riverton, I'm going with Alta.
