My Rankings

doubt anyone will read this, but for fun since I travel quite a bit. My top 5 and bottom 5 airports.

Top 5
1) San Francisco
2) Denver International
3) Kauai - probably b/c it is in Kauai, but nonetheless
4) Orlando - except for the security line
5) Cincinnati - which is actually an airport in Kentucky
Also Noteworthily good Chicago O'Hare(Eli's Cheesecake) Houston (Poupadoux - however you spell that place)

Bottom 5
1) Washington Dulles - undoubtedly the dumbest airport ever built. The tram things are called "mobile lounges" for goodness sake. I call them "government contractor waste"
2) Los Angeles
3) Dallas Fort Worth
4) Atlanta
5) Detroit
Also noteworthily bad: Chicago Midway, any airport in NYC, Boston Logan (despite Legal Seafood), Kansas City, Milwaukee

Dear My Rankings..
I read your Top 5 and Bottom 5, and as far as your Top 5 list goes, I definitely get your ranking of Kauai number 3. In fact, in my book, Kauai gets to be number one based soley on one over-arching criterion: Location!

John

Function should be the optive word, and I think SLC airport by design makes the case for that.
Never been to the Kauai airport but to the island itself, very beautiful. Then of course the Wasatch mountains as a back drop is also very beautiful, matches our city which is also very clean and beautiful.
The Reagen National is in itself very impressive given it's age, easy to get around in also.
Seattle is very cluttered but given it's traffic is not too bad.
But the worst is Chicagos O'Hare, take your pick on New York.
That said SLC's is head and shoulders above any airport fo egress, regress and layout
