I didn't say that....I was just thinking of a friend, they are picking on
me - they lack ethics. Yet another attempt by the Democrats to sling mud, run,
hide and then play victim. Isn't that just another attempt to reform
things like Phil Reisen did, oh wait - the demos blocked that from being heard
because he was a victim too.

He answered the survey like a true liberal Democrat. Nothing hidden.
He's for same-sex unions, legalizing marijuana, higher taxes, and public funding of abortion.
That takes true grit to say what you believe in the reddest state in the nation. May not be the best move to get elected but true grit it is.

I know Jay personally and know his views on abortion, same sex marriage, and
illegal drug use have been misrepresented by the Republican party. Curtis knows
this too. Yet they continue to advertise this falsified information.

I just can't believe this is what we are arguing about just 12 days before
the election. The Republican party can no longer rest on their merits so they
have to create lies. Jay Seegmiller is a good man that has time and again said
that he is anti abortion. Where the heck did this Marijana thing come from? How
ridiculous. Curtis has proved time and again that he is not worthy to run the
Legislature and has used his office for political gain. Now that it looks like
he is going to be beat he has no choice but to start these lies that can not be
defended before the election. This is the same tactic that was used years ago in
Sen. Niederhauser's race to railroad his opponent. Throw out accusations
that can't not be proven and throw them out late so that people can not
prove them wrong. These are the people we want running our state? I think not.
Forget about republicans and Democrats lets vote for American's and this is
not American.

We need to hold the Republicans accountable for trying to paint good honest
Mormon Democrat as a liberal pot smoking, gay marriage, abortion loving liberal.
I know Jay Seegmiller and he is a good honest man. I have been at most of the
debates and he has continually stated that he does not support gay marriage,
abortion, and smoking marijuana. This Evans guy needs to be fired as the head
of the GOP Leadership in Salt Lake County. I hope Greg Curtis did not have
anything to do with this. The shady deals and special interest monies that
Curtis has been involved with should be fair game to debate but trying to paint
Seegmiller as a socialist is just immoral. We need to hold our own ethics
committee at the ballot box and send Curtis, Hughes, Waker, and Buttars packing.

government run health care is a possible solution. And that he wants to mandate
that all people buy health insurance.
He also admitted that he opposed the constitutional amendment on marriage.

Seegmiller says he is pro-life? Rubbish. The Democratic Party WILL NOT give
their nomination to someone who does not uphold their values. And with each
candidate, the party bosses ask the explicit question about their support for
abortion. If they do not support abortion rights as cherished by the party
leadership, there is no nomination. I know, I once ran as a D and each of us was
asked that question. I was so disgusted with the back-room deals that I stopped
associating with the Democratic Party. Seegmiller is not being fully honest with
the voters of our district regarding abortion.

Sales tax off food; CHIPS (Childrens Health Insurance Program); tough animal
cruelty law; and record funding for public education - this is the record of
Greg Curtis. Absent his leadership, and as evidenced by many failed attempts to
have the sales tax removed from food, this would never have happened. Without
offense to Seegmiller, or his party, the facts are that he can propose all of
the progessive legislation he wants but it will not be passed. If in fact he
and his party had the ability to do anything, can you imagine the tax increases
to meet their promises to UEA? Seegmiller is likely a good person but his
progressive positions are so far to the left that he will find himself isolated
and without influence in the legislature.

I guess you can vote for a can-do-nothing representative or someone with a track record for getting stuff on the agenda and passed.
Do you want your representative to be able to get something accomplished or not? Depending upon your answer, choice is EASY.
I don't like everything the Curtis has done, but I'd much rather have all the good things he has ACCOMPLISHED rather than a minority party candidate unable to push the most vanilla flavored legislation...!

Utah was ranked the best managed state by the Pew Foundation and has one of the
strongest economies in the US according to Forbes, CNBC, and several other
organizations.
Even with the big downturn in the economy, Utah legislators, led by the Republican Party, balanced our budget without raising taxes or cutting education spending.
California, on the other hand, has sent their governor to Washington DC to beg for money from the federal government. In the meantime, they've continued to create lavish state-funded programs and raise taxes to the point that business owners and wealthy citizens are leaving in droves.
If you like what you see in California and the US Congress for that matter (with its lowest approval rating of all time at 12%) vote Democrat.
But if you want a well-run state, vote Republican.
The ethics complaints are just dirty campaign tactics to distract voters from our state's success.

Um, there are plenty of democrat candidates this year who are solidly pro-life.
Like Mr. Seegmiller, down in Utah County they are running on the platform that
they are more or less Republicans who are sick of the twisted power structure in
the state and want to run against that power structure, more or less using
republican values.
Steve Baugh, running against Steve Sandstrom in Orem, is a pretty conservative dude. Very pro-life. Running as a Democrat. And will likely win!

As a conservative republican, I hope that Seegmiller wins. What we need in Utah
is new republican leadership. What we have now is a tight group of politicians
who are beholding to too many different special interest groups to be able to
see what the people of Utah want and need.
These republican leaders 'brow beat' other republicans in order to get their votes on the highly unpopular voucher issue. Several voted in favor of vouchers with their noses plugged because of the pressure from the leadership. This is just one example how out of touch the republican leadership is and an example of how it needs to be changed.
I do not live in Curtis' district, and have not been affected by the negative campaigning of the two candidates, I am sure both have been guilty of the politics of personal destruction.
I intend to vote for my republican legislators. They withstood tremendous pressure from the leadership to vote against vouchers because it would not be good for rural Utah and their district. It isn't all republicans that need to be voted out, just the leadership.

I wish Jay did believe that physicians could prescribe what they think a patient
needs. Republicans should be all for this since they claim that government
should stay out of our personal lives. The moral police have struck again, and

Greg Curtis has reeked havoc on the state and on me. I feel like I have been
hit over the head with a sledge hammer. He stuffed vouchers, school district
splits, and soccer stadiums down our throats. He has been involved in scandals
every where he goes. Guzzle gate, bad land deals etc. Most all of his campaign
money has come from big business, lawyers, HMO's, alcohol and tobacco
interests. Curtis can't represent the little people in this state because
he is beholding to Special Interest Groups. We need to hold our own ethics
committee at the ballot box and send Curtis packing!!!

Jay Seegmiller is guilty of what??? He missed questions on a survey! Oh my,
let's hang him,while we have Greg Curtis who has continually proven his
lack of representation of his constituants. Did he consider what the public
wanted on school vouchers? How about a stadium? When he towed his boat to Lake
Powell on our dime, was he considering his obligation to uphold ethics? I work
for a large corporation and the code of conduct IS basis for termination, Why
isn't it in elected officials? Calling Jay Seegmiller a pro-abortionist is
similar to calling Greg Curtis ethical. When the box by Greg Curtis's name
goes unchecked Nov 4th, it WILL be intentional, don't mistake it for an
oversight!
