I just hope he's not out much more than 2 weeks.
My man CJ only needs two weeks to prove his worth. Now if Sloan would just lay off him long enough to see how great he is.
I t seems we're seeing this more and more where the shooter goes up and the defender steps into his space and there goes an ankle. The league needs to do something about this type of foul. Sitting the defender down for as many days as the injured is out might just fit the bill.
Anyone else think that Andrei coming off the bench is just a ploy so he'll have more reasons to demand a trade or something? It certainly makes very little sense to keep your best defender off the court to start the game, especially now that D-Will is out for a few weeks.
No comment on the CJ Posts. This is fairly good news, it could have been worse the way it looked on TV. D-will should only miss a few games. A month or more could have really hurt our chances for a run at the best record in the west. Thank goodness we don't have to have HART play the backup role this year!! Brevin and Ronnie should be just fine against Denver.
I have followed the jazz since they came to SLC, and really enjoy having an NBA team here. I would like to think that I am a pretty good judge of talent also. The question I have is just what is the strong part of C.J.'s game? I can't find it. He's an average defender, an average passer, and not really a very good shooter. Rebounds fair, does run the floor quite well, which I think is his plus. Tell me supporters, your thoughts.
You really believe that Ronnie and Brevin can keep this team intact until Dewill is back? CJ at point is the best idea since the Jazz drafted Williams (Even though Paul is the better player). Price and Knight are only in the NBA because the Jazz don't want to spend money to win a championship. CJ had 7 assists against Denver. Shot better than almost everyone on the team last year. Long and Athletic and can run like a deer. My question is, what is his weakness?
CJ Miles is very athletic. He's was brought into the NBA out of High School so he still has a lot of years to develop his talents. He is a diverse player kind of like Kirilenko. In the recent game vs. Denver they brought CJ in the game to play point gaurd where he dished out 7 assists in 26 min. The Utah Jazz star point usually gets about 10-11 in 39 min. Not bad for first time playing point in the NBA! CJ has not palyed all that hot this preseason. But if given the minutes he has shown huge potential. Also last season he averaged 39% from the 3-point line.
Don't get too excited about Miles just yet. He has potential, but hasn't proven much so far. That game against Denver? Remember he was playing against Denver's benchwarmers. He shot 30% in that game and is shooting something like 29% in the preseason. He also had 4 turnovers and 4 fouls in only 26 minutes, with two of those turnovers on crucial plays in the closing minutes of the game.
Again Miles has potential and it would awesome if he develops into the great player many think he can be; but I would rather have a true point like Knight (2nd best assist-to-turnover ratio in the NBA last year) or someone with more NBA experience at the point like Price handling the ball until D-Will gets back.
Ok.. Sloan Deron is out...use Andrei at the point
position, he is the teams best defender and I think
best passer. You have Okur, Boozer,Brewer,Cj and
Andrei Start. korver, price, and Harpring first off
the bench. Lets see what Mr. Sloan will do. This
is what I would do?
To me they would be poor shot selection, inexperience, and lack of motivation (both on defense and in preparing during the offseason) although he is improving in all of those areas. He shot .479 last year, a strong improvement over his shooting percentage the year before (.345), but it's not quite right to say he shot "better than almost everyone on the team." Six jazz players had better shooting percentage last year. He does have a nice touch to his shot, though, and with more playing time I think he could blossom into a very efficient player at both ends of the court.
When has CJ ever shown huge potential? The blow-outs where he played second and third string players from the opposing team that were not defending any longer? Talent does not equal skill and although he has some potential, his work ethic and passion are lack luster and he will never be the great player you predict. Miles, are you just trying to get our goats? Don't you have something better to do? A girlfriend, kids or friends to spend time with?
And 39% from 3point land in garbage minutes against so-so players is not the same as 39% from the field against great players. It's great to support a player, but be realistic...
Time out, "Miles" at 5:18; don't tell me you've given in to the national media and are also under the delusion that CP3 is better than Deron! Deron's got him by 3 inches, is a better shooter, matches if not exceeds his passing ability, and is just as quick and able in the open floor. The only way Paul is better is in the steal department, but overall defensively I'll take Deron's size anyway.
Oh, and "Question" is right on--C.J. is an average player. I see no area in which he excells, and that's why I would have preferred giving him up to OK City. Until he dishes out the assists in a regular season game, I'm not convinced.
Get well soon D-Will!
Y'all need to respect cj. he's quick and long, and he's got hops. he can shoot it ok. he's got all the tools to be a great player, and he's gotten bigger every year, and better too. he's inexperienced, true, but even if he doesn't get any better, which anyone who has seen him wouldn't think, he's alredy good enough to play in the nba, so anyone with the brain of a reptile could see, if he keeps working, he's only going to get better. all you haters need to get out of the precambrian, i don't know how all of you manage to pay your bills, unless you're living in your mammas basement.
I see that the "MILES" dude changed his name to CJ'S MAMMA
"CJ's Mamma", perhaps it is you that requires an education so you can put together a complete (and grammatically correct) sentence.
Who's posting all these comments about CJ Miles becoming the second coming of Michael Jordan? I'm beginning to think it's CJ himself or one of his Grandmas or something. Let's get real here. CJ has talent and a ton of potential, but he's not nearly the player some of you think he is. When he was running the point the other game, he looked like a deer in headlights. His jumpshot is off most of the time and he seems to shoot the ball everytime he touches it (or lose it). He is very average at this point in his career. Let's hope he can pick things up or I see him at the bench next to Jarron by seasons end.
Miles is the next Michael Jordan. I would know cuz I've seen him play High school ball. There are only a few that have come straight out of High school and Kobe is one of them. He's the greatest off the bench. Just remeber these words: Give him 3 years and he'll be an All-star.
I will take that bet..he should have went to college and learned something first...
