I read this story with great interest. I'm a Parowan boy, and my dad, Lollin Orton, worked at Iron Mountain for 20 plus years. Now I'm living in China. I wouldn't be surprised if I have not seen this iron ore being barged up the Yangtze River to one of their processing mills. The irony of this story (no pun intended) is beyond amazing. I'm sure the Chinese will make some product out of the iron and ship it right back to the USA, and it will probably show up in the WalMart in Cedar City. Such is the world today.
It was great to read about the opening of the iron mine. It was certainly the center of community affairs when I was growing up in Cedar City in the 1950's
